Why not degrease and wire brush everything before reassembly?
👍🏽 helpful specially when u r talking about the bolts torque
Thank you so much for sharing the video.
Any tips getting that green gasket end of the intake tube back in? I’m having trouble getting it to seat properly.
put the gasket onto the supercharger first, then put the intake tube on, muscle it on a little bit, it's a tight fit, sorry for the late reply
Can you do this with the motor still in the car and what about the belts can you just take them off and put them back on or is there something I need to know about them
You can do it with the motor still attached to the car. You just need to put it in frontend service mode
yes easy
You need the belt tensioner tool
Im looking at an S, might get it, oh boy does this look like alot of work, but atleast there are videos when the time comes
I am looking at a Mini Cooper S and was wondering how many miles before this service needs done?
People seem to say ~100k miles, BMW doesn't give a service interval as they believe the supercharger oil to last the lifetime of the car.
Caramelly oil. Good is better than black or no oil. You didn't want to change the water pump all together?
for sure. nah no pump change, it was still tight and working, corrosion on the flange, but still good enough imo. would have been the easiest time to change it of course.
@aDIYCarguy dose ANYBODY know where in the hell i can buy some of this oil?
I mean, I know I can buy it off of Pelican parts, Amazon or Ebay online but does anybody happen to know if Napa, AutoZone, O'Reilly's ECT carries it?
Amazon
I found going straight to a GM dealership they have these bottles. And it was cheaper than ordering online.
I believe around 10$ Canadian it cost me per bottle.
@@mohammadkamran5862 May you happen to know what particular vehicle they stock that supercharger oil under at the GM dealership?
@@douglassenriquez423 probably chevy SS with superchargers
@@CarpaccioSalad Thank you! Much appreciated 🙏
👍🏻
I just got some oil from a mini dealer for my supercharger service and it's not clear?
doesn't have to be clear
@@aDIYCarGuy thank you mate
Bro did you ever get this car fixed???
Yea, worked great and then I sold it eventually
I'm afraid to ask how much a mechanic would charge
ohhellnoyoudidnt an arm and a leg lol basically
do it your self its ez
£320.00 all in done
Take your time removing the parts you need to and you won't break things
Fuck me,,you've got to take out the engine to change the supercharger oil
haha no I had the engine out to do other things to it, you just need to take the supercharger off to change its oil. You need to remove the front bumper and radiators to get to the supercharger though.
I can't work it out, the PTO end with the water pump was empty, no oil at all, why on earth did he just fill it up when the gears would have been driven dry causing all sorts of wear to the gear teeth, bearings etc. Same on the pulley end hardly any came out. You need to remove both chamber covers to fully inspect the gearing and see what actual debris is in there.....very poor service. That charger mast have been making one hell of a noise !
There was oil that came out on the water pump side, did you stop watching the video before the oil actually poured out? I didn't show draining the other side so how do you know how much oil was in there? Very poor assumptions.
@@aDIYCarGuy Regardless there was no where near 40ml which will mean gear & bearing wear, both chamber caps need removing for inspection period. ruclips.net/video/97-7VTZLpv4/видео.html
This is how to do it properly.
Need to turn the rotor to get all the oil out or half of the oil will stays inside the charger. This is half a job
