  • Liz Fisher, the founder and CEO of Lavva Yogurt, joins me to chat about how she helped invent the popular plant-based yogurt, how a "super-nut" can dramatically boost your gut health, and why many store-bought yogurts contain UN-healthy ingredients that could actually hurt gut health.

👍 Dr Gundry and Liz; fascinating information. Liz is a survivor and thriver! The worse the weather the healthier the tree is. Impossible to find Vegan yoghurt without a ton of sugar and additives or soy and flavours in Australia. Plantains are very healthy too and rarely used in foods here. One day Lavva living food may make it to these shores. 💃

What a great story of the pili nut to yogurt! You did not mention lectins. Do pili nuts contain lectins?
Also, what is the story of phytic acids. It seems many of the same lectin-containing foods also have phytic acids.
What is the best way to prepare foods to reduce phytic acids--soaking, sprouting, fermenting, roasting, pressure cooking?

PIli nut can be found in Albay and its neighboring provinces in the Philippines near the Mayon Volcano. It is being made as a snack for years now and some are exported abroad and sold in Filipinp stores. Have not heard of being turn to yogurt thou. That is good for the health of the people and create jobs directly and indirectly.

      It was probably a coincidence.
You should probably heal your elevated gastric acid by eating at least 5 - 8 before sleep the last time.
Including all other health and hydratation measures.
Stop using koffee and all pharmacy-bought analgetics. They support bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, if not used with the meals.

    • @cosmovedafacility6308

Eat and drink better other vit C containing sources (normally, if somebody is not sick or under much stress, 60 mg a day should be enough). Because too much acid can be dangerous - also for decalcification of the bones and teeth, or production of stones in some organs.
But: the white part of the lemon skin is told to contain a lot of vitamin C !

A lot of these health videos do not address poverty or even the lowest income bracket of people in our society. Someone on a fixed income of 1000 to 2000 a month or less. If we are encouraged to stay away from packaged foods. How do we make, said yogurt ourselves, without first buying packages ingredients?
Is it best then for a very low and fixed income person or household, to simply buy plantains. Eat the whole foods only and stay completely clear of packaged foods?
Cost of food is so high. Food banks only give out the worst of the packaged foods. Low income families decide on easy quick fast food and be able to pay rent, or healthier foods and barely make rent, while working several part time slave wage jobs?
We have forgotten about those most vulnerable to financial insecurities which is the ultimate culprit of bad health. So do these diets and trends, books, and advice, only target the upper middle class? They seem to be the only ones able to afford high-speed internet and data plans to get these vital insights.
In our household when I was just a kid, it was a very special treat to have yogurt to eat. If MaMa purchased yogurt, it meant other items on the groceries list were taken off or portions reduced dramatically, which meant we would have sufficient number of meals to sustain till the next month. How do the financially disenfranchised citizens, cope and be able to also incorporate these diets fads trends and advisories online similar to these videos, just as their upper middle class friends?
You're quite powerless if your poor let's face it, you have no time to spare for yourself, because any time you have to spare goes directly back to working to make others richer...
There needs to be a Universal Basic Income in lift us to the level which we can healthily participate and contribute our time, energy, and money to these wonderful healthy movements...
    Thank you.
