Rev Charlie appeared on an Irish TV show with the El Dos ... this was after appearing in Dublin at the Temple Bar Blues Festival. The Rev. was a particularly wonderful man. He was recorded by St George Records
Thanks, Susan - yes, it was a great pleasure spending time with Rev Charlie and I have very happy memories of that weekend in Dublin with him, the El Dorados and George. Have you also seen this clip from the same TV show? ruclips.net/video/lq4Ce-inJrg/видео.html
I was back stage with the ElDos & George, probably met you there ... this is one of my fav CDs that my husband, George, produced. The Rev was a wonderful man, really enjoyed spending time with him ...
HALLELUJAH
Thanks for posting this!
A fantastic song . I first heard about the Reverend from the late , great Lux Interior and Poison Ivy from the cramps. They raved about Wrapped Up And Tangled Up in an early book written about the Cramps. Lux and Ivy knew about important things like this. Mind you, this film clip version is much tamer than the original 45 version. Lux and Ivy claim that the Reverend was so overcome by the Lord that he sings: "I can't hold my pee"
@ Chris West, he says "I can't hold my 'peace'."
Roll Tide thank you Jesus and ya'll and Hank Jr. and Kidd Rock
🙏
i feel like this must have been part of the inspiration for adam sandler's "excited southerner" character

I love how this guy can't understand Rev's Southern accent.
If you ask me, he is making fun of Charlie.
