    Hey, Mike, Is there any way to prime the oil system without turning the engine on?
    What i do on my other bikes that have a separate killswitch/starter button was to crank it with the killswitch off unti the oil light turns off on the dash. My Silverado also does this if you keep the throttle wide open while cranking it

    • @Ferraiolo_1
      @Ferraiolo_1  Год назад

      I’ve not experimented with it. It’s just the cam chain making the noise till the tensioner gets oil pressure. The challenger and scouts are the same way. A little never racking the first change though.

    I believe Indian states the oil is to be drained while the bike is on the side stand. I wonder if that had anything to do with it only taking 3qts? I change mine on the side stand and always drain about 3.5 qts and add about 3.5 qts with my sight glass at about the same level as yours.

    • @Ferraiolo_1
      @Ferraiolo_1  2 года назад

      Ive done it both ways, still seems to be hit or miss, the last oil change I did, it was on the stands and it took almost 3.5.

      A crg lane splitter. And just a Chinese sport bike set off Amazon. The ftr uses m8 spools

      Indian states 1 year/ 10k miles. I usually do it between 4-5k miles. Personal choice.

    • @Flu_Tang_Clan
      @Flu_Tang_Clan 2 года назад

      I'm with him. 10k is a lot of miles/heat cycles for a high performance engine. I shoot for 3k-5k max on my bikes. The peace of mind is worth it for me.

    Thanks for the vid. I had no idea my bike had a hex wrench, lol. I do have a question. I've been riding sportbikes for a very long time and the first thing I do with any new bike is put on new rearsets and switch it to GP shift. I was wondering if you have those Gilles rearsets set to GP or standard?

      20nm. It’s in your owners manual. My day job is a helicopter mechanic. My elbow has become quite calibrated over the years.
      Just make sure you use new crush gaskets, or anneal your old ones. As the tq value takes into account them crushing.
