Hey, Mike, Is there any way to prime the oil system without turning the engine on? What i do on my other bikes that have a separate killswitch/starter button was to crank it with the killswitch off unti the oil light turns off on the dash. My Silverado also does this if you keep the throttle wide open while cranking it
I’ve not experimented with it. It’s just the cam chain making the noise till the tensioner gets oil pressure. The challenger and scouts are the same way. A little never racking the first change though.
I believe Indian states the oil is to be drained while the bike is on the side stand. I wonder if that had anything to do with it only taking 3qts? I change mine on the side stand and always drain about 3.5 qts and add about 3.5 qts with my sight glass at about the same level as yours.
I'm with him. 10k is a lot of miles/heat cycles for a high performance engine. I shoot for 3k-5k max on my bikes. The peace of mind is worth it for me.
Thanks for the vid. I had no idea my bike had a hex wrench, lol. I do have a question. I've been riding sportbikes for a very long time and the first thing I do with any new bike is put on new rearsets and switch it to GP shift. I was wondering if you have those Gilles rearsets set to GP or standard?
20nm. It’s in your owners manual. My day job is a helicopter mechanic. My elbow has become quite calibrated over the years. Just make sure you use new crush gaskets, or anneal your old ones. As the tq value takes into account them crushing.
@@Ferraiolo_1 Just asking cause I'm thinking of getting a new 2023 "Polaris"./FTR I tend not to call these Indian, cause Indian as a company is pretty much Dead. , Thanks

Hey Mike, great how to. I'm curious as to what brand nitrile gloves you are using? They look really thick.

Ive done it both ways, still seems to be hit or miss, the last oil change I did, it was on the stands and it took almost 3.5.
What lube are u using on that gold chain that keeps it looking gold and lubed ?
Maxima chain wax
Hey what mirrors did you throw on? I'm looking to swap my factory ones off. And also, which wheel lifts are those? Thank you
A crg lane splitter. And just a Chinese sport bike set off Amazon. The ftr uses m8 spools
Thanks so much. I just found your channel and have been checking out a lot of your content
@@ClayFick there really wasn’t much out there a few years ago. I wish I would have recorded more things early on
That makes sense w a new production model hitting the streets. I enjoy your upgrades
Did you use bar end clamp mirrors or insert ones ?
Thank you
What brand exhaust is that plz
Toce Performance full exhaust
How often do you have to change the oil
Indian states 1 year/ 10k miles. I usually do it between 4-5k miles. Personal choice.

I haven’t done it. But I know others on the forum have.
Have you ever figured out the torque setting for the drain plugs ,??, the way you tightened them made me cringe 😬

@@elithegreat6463 that’s like calling a Lamborghini a VW because vw bought them. Very little parts actually say polaris on these bikes.

But Lambo & VW still exist, Indian is a Fossil.
