Was that second fish a yellow perch? That thing was huge! I mean the pike was too but I ain't never seen a yellow perch get that big. I think the biggest I ever caught was like 13 inches and it was nowhere near that thick.

This is a new one, and was next level crazy no hesitation 1 handed 1st try no problem

Those are real hotspots for pike indeed. You will catch most pike in those hiding areas. They don't just use these places to hunt.. also to hide from the big pike. Big pike have Nothing to fear (but us) and move around freely in open water. Harder to find them there, but there is less baitfish there. That makes your lures extra interesting for them. So ... if you fish like you always fish... you will catch what you always catch. Change your methods and watch the results. Greetings from Holland

It was a European (redfin) perch, but even for one of those it was massive!
