    I think this should not considered anywhere mere a record for two reasons first it's a privately owned lake or "pond" that is only seven acres and it sounds like there is only one northern pike in it. So they stock it with trout to feed the only northern pike and let it grow to that size. Even if it breaks the weight record for the country or world it should never be allowed in the record books.

  • @justincokit2011
    @justincokit2011 8 лет назад +7

    Someone had to have put the pike in there when it was small, since there are no inlets. They planned for the pike to remain captive in the enclosed pond and feast on the trout which had been stocked there. They then proceeded to monitor the pike as it grew.
    Definitions:
    'Farm'-"land or water devoted to the raising of animals, fish, plants, etc."
    'Farmed(v.tr.)'-"To *cultivate, breed, or raise (plants or animals)."
    'Wild'-(of an animal): "Living in nature without human control or care : not tame."
    While this fish might technically be 'farmed,' it sure doesn't seem to take away from the guys joy of pulling in this monster- and isn't that what fishing is all about?

      As for me I'm finished with here. So I'm going to Russia and I'll be hunting down a world record. I mean. Come on lads. Britain leads the way in angling and I'm sure my angling skills will come out on top
      A perch in the Thames took my roach and we estimated it at about 12lb at least. I'd seen nothing like it: Deep olive and British racing green, all mottled like! It wasn't hooked and let go after 30 secs or so!
      Then there was a chub I saw at the mouth of The Colne (London). My friend (who worked in a tackle shop), said it was a grass carp. 5 ft long. I estimated 11lb. These two fish have been on my mind ever since!
      Then there was a carp that we (me and Stroudy/ the dude who works on armoured army vehicles with his bomb shields), saw at Wraysbury II. That too was 5tf long and had never been caught!
      We've had roach out of the Thames beating the Thames record.
      I'm had to give up fishing because I'm not allowed ro admit The Envy-euro-ment Agency.
      Except if I have time expect to hear about River Clyde record cod catches or conger eels pretty soon!

    Not so fast. I've caught lots of pike here in Wisconsin and I can tell you, a fight of that limited duration would have left that fish way too green to net so easily. It would have been thrashing around not so evidently exhausted. My apologies to the angler if this was legitimate, but my 50+ years of experience leaves me very suspicious.

    All the hate for these fisherman. Sad. Congratulations on your fish! What a beast!

    The part where we got a chance to watch the shadows land the fish was pretty good 😂. Fish of a lifetime and a day that will possibly never be beaten in his angling life, well done sir

    I remember Terry fondly from his time owning Burton Mere trout and carp fishery on the Wirral. He sold it and it’s now a nature reserve. I wonder what he’s up to now.
