Scott, the ultimate tech minimalist is a Apple watch. Leave the iPhone at home, and still get phone and notifications. The screen is so tiny you're not using it for much but it still does the important stuff.
For those of us with some vision issues, getting rid of the bezels to shrink the physical dimensions and adding the Face ID sensor and earpiece for non-speaker-phone calls would result in a larger iPhone Max Plus or whatever that would help compared to the relatively small iPhone Max sizing (yes, it's all relative), and it would still be more readily usable. Basically a modern "phablet"...
I absolutely love the mini! I use it for light content consumption, note taking, and drawing! I find it the perfect companion with my MacBook for college
I've been seriously thinking about switching to a flip phone and get the iPad mini since PDA's aren't a thing anymore. The mini is roughly the size of the old Apple Newtons and it would have modern capabilities.
Thank you for this video! I'd love to see the daily use of the mini with whatsapp and an apple pencil. Reading, taking notes, taking phone calls in public with airpods,... like the perfect magic notebook but no phone :)
I've owned a mini for over a year now, and I just don't find myself using it that much. I love it, and will take notes on it. Or use it for recipes in the kitchen ( I magnet it to the fridge, lol). but aside from that, I just end up on a desktop or phone mostly.
Nice! Certainly never give an iPad to your kid, my “weekend dad” put an iPad on my lap when i was 3 and then complained after i got addicted to video games
this is such a neat idea! so, you basically turned ur ipad into an iphone plus max plus haha. by the way, ive been here since 2019 :) i looked back on the super chats i gave you back then to make sure it was you and yep! it is you! nice to see you again :)
Thanks for this. Im literaly planning to get one to be a work phone. Already have an ipad 9 but yeah. Kinda big to bring everywhere. 😢 I think, i'll just get an iphone
Maybe anyone could answer this question? I’m starting a private business outside my work and I need a second phone number on a different phone for it. For the last few weeks I was thinking to buy an iPad mini with cellular rather than another iPhone. I thought that it might make it easier to move excel files, look at videos and other things. Anyone might have insights about it?
@ so what are you telling me that even a cellular iPad mini cannot work entirely as a new separate phone even if I have a second SIM card with a different phone?
Yeah I know! I was disappointed we didn't get an M4 iPad mini..... Certainly with the iPad pros being so thin I imagined they could easily do a mini. Oh well

I did that years ago and really enjoyed it. I ought to give it another go, plus it gives me an excuse to buy a new Apple Watch lol
@@techno_eclipseA curious question: Are there people over eighty years of age who are very elderly people who own modern smart phones???
One major trade-off: No Emergency Photo-taking

its nice hearing you. what a nice presence u have .calm. no swear words etc .your channel is one of the best.
thanks for covering car play! been considering using a mini as a phone but not having car play would be a deal breaker

Eager to see you use the upcoming iPad Mini 7.

What headphones do you use, as a tech minimalist? What do you recommend?
well done man, love your angle on tech.

I hate Instagram for not creating a Ipad mini App! Pictures look better on Ipad than these small phone screens!! 🤨
Can you make calls like from a mobile phone?😊

The "for science" part made me subscribe!
Is that an iPad in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.
hahaha

Did you use wifi or the cellular data?
Cellular data
The bigger my phone is the less likely I’ll pay attention to anyone. 😂
Can you put SIM card in it. And use is normal phone without having a extra phone At all to use

I just looked back at that, and your message was hilarious haha. Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Bro has intense self-esteem issues lol. How is tech embarrassing?

Pretty sure you will need a new phone that you can link the iPad mini to. At that point I would just lean towards one of the largest models
@ so what are you telling me that even a cellular iPad mini cannot work entirely as a new separate phone even if I have a second SIM card with a different phone?
nice video bro, will you ever revisit the iPhone 6 in 2024
I still use my iPad Pro 2016 for media streaming - 4 speakers.
I want a ipad mini so bad. Together with iphone 13 mini
I guess this was recorded before the Apple event. No love from Apple for the mini.

After the iPad Air video do an iPad Pro 13 inch to replace your computer and everything else, ultimate challenge
That’s what i did, lol.
You could’ve just used Google voice 😂
It clearly meant, you need iphone even to run the cellular ipad mini. So why the hell cellular..... I wasted my money.
Get a bag.
