I am dating my best friend from high school right now. We’ve been together for almost 3 years and I remember how our strongest moments as a couple were during tough times. We had met when I was 13 and had just lost my core group of friends as well as my first boyfriend. Mike, my current boyfriend and best friend, helped me get back on my feet and we started talking as casual friends. We eventually lost touch in early high school and reconnected after I lost another group of friends. This time we became close friends and started hanging out after school. Two years later things changed when both of us started developing romantic feelings towards each other.
I will never forget the night Mike asked me out. One day I found out my mom had cancer. The news took a day or two to hit me but when it did, I was crying myself to sleep. That night Mike calls me and notices I’m not my happy self. Upon asking what was wrong, I told him the news and he made it a point to stay up with me past midnight until I felt better. Within that phone conversation he told me that he could make me feel happy, safe etc. if I gave him a chance. The next morning I accepted his offer and became his girlfriend.

Britanie Williams, thank you. It’s funny how sometimes the person you would never see yourself with, is the person you end up with long term. Had somebody asked me when I was 13-16 if I’d end up with Mike, I would have said absolutely not and so would he; but as we developed a close friendship in late high school our feelings changed. I can’t believe we’ve been together this long given that we were both each other’s FIRST real love. I think our friendship is what keeps things alive between us.

I was ready for a date that I was going on. Not with my hubby. I hadn’t met him yet. Lol I went to my sisters house to drop off my four yr old son. A gentleman was bent down tying his shoes. He sensed my eyes watching him and glanced up. He said... what are you looking at? I said....you, you tie your shoes like a kindergartner. OMG! He was upset. Hehehe. He did. He took and made two loops and twisted them around. The next day he asked his boss who I was not knowing his boss was my brother in law. He stated he was mad at first but couldn’t get me off his mind. That night I went on a date With him. We are now twenty years married twenty five years together! ❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰

I asked God to send me an angel to tell me if the man I was seeing was the one. A few days later my boyfriend and I went for a walk in the park and a group of children dressed as angels came running up to us on the walking path. They were part of a Sunday school group, handing out flowers to strangers. A young boy handed us both a tulip. I was astonished , I couldn't believe my eyes!!! That was the sign I asked for. I started tearing up, I was so touched. God is truly amazing.❤️

It feels effortless. I've never been with someone that could openly say what's on my mind and he accepts me, flaws and all. I feel so blessed to have this man in my life and I let him know that everyday.
For me, the most important sign was that I could fully open up and be myself with my partner. Generally, I don't share my thoughts easily with people around me. Not even my close family. When I met my partner, I immediately knew that there is nothing I wouldn't tell him. I knew there was trust and respect on both sides. We both felt we can share everything with each other and lovingly approach each other's points of view. We are both very grateful we found each other ☺️
The moment i realised my boyfriend is the one, was once we were eating dinner with my parents, and my mom was telling a story from my childhood. The story was that i used to collect candy wrappings, and fold it, my mom always thought it was weird and kinda laughed at the story, but then my boyfriend told us all he did the same thing, and he had a book of folded wrapping paper at home. My mom was surprised as well and told us we were perfect together. I love him so much, one day i'm gonna marry that guy.

"Ease and peace..." Yes. Such good keys Matthew. Last night I was snugged up against my man contemplating how my whole inner and outer worlds have changed since I left my life in New Zealand in December 2018 and came to live with him in his home country which is Sweden. We live in a tiny 10 x 4.5 meter apartment (30 x 14 foot) with a 10 x 2 meter balcony outside. I am a keen gardener, so the balcony at the edge of the city overlooking Skåne farmland makes all the difference to me. As I was contemplating all of the amazing changes and wonderful outcomes since I moved here, the words that came to me were "Safe and comfortable." I've never been safe much in my life since there was so much violence in the family of my early life and also in my marriage, which after 4.5 years I had to get out of. I struggled daily after that as a young mom raising two little children on my own. My children never knew a father. That's sad. Finally, when all hope was lost for me to ever couple (beauty and cuteness fading at the age of nearly 50, and such), a beautiful man walked into my life in New Zealand in 2010. He was so kind, never impulsive, never rash or judgemental, never raised his voice, took everything in his stride... and he broke down the defensive walls in me. For 25 years I had my walls up and wouldn't let anyone in. I was afraid and always on alert for danger. He broke me down, through his kindness and the stability of his nature. I now only feel safe and comforted with him as I lay down with him, my head on his chest. It is truly a very wonderful thing... A miracle actually. I wonder at it every day. A miracle.

How do you know you've found the one?
1. The single most common factor is: "it is EASY to be together" . And they feel PEACE when together.
The attraction can be there from the start, or build up. But the ease an peace are there from the start. It looks almost like you can't mess it up. You get to be yourself. You get to relax. You can let go. You can have fun.
Of course later on there are going to be bumps on the road.
The moment I knew he was the one for me is when I realized his sense of humour matched mine and that being myself was something I could do without feeling like I was too much. The fact that I feel totally at peace around him also cemented that feeling.
If he can't make you laugh then he is not the one.

This is important for sure.
I felt a sense of trust. I knew he was not looking for anyone else and neither was I. We accepted each other as we were. A comfortable feeling and the chemistry was right.
The way I knew I was with the right man that I married is that in spite of all my quirks he stayed, he loved me in spite of... he knew I was the one for him is he said he couldn't imagine his life without me. He has since passed away but I'm praying one day I experience a true love again.

I knew he’s the one when he matched/ surpassed my desire for Growth, I noticed myself holding me up to a higher standard and being truest to me because of him doing that for himself. Our compatibility is the most apparent when we are both in alignment with our truest best version of ourselves. He is always willing to communicate for the sake of continuing to build a solid foundation despite it not being his strongest quality. He lives the standard of leaving everything better than he found it, in a non forceful way.. just through being himself, willing to step outside what’s comfortable and inspiring others. I have always intentionally learned from experiences, looking for the treasures within .. I had never met someone whom inspired so much growth within myself that it caught me off guard. Life is so beautiful with someone who always helps you see it even more clearly today than you did yesterday.

Aww, so true!!! When you're being with the right one, everything seems so easy and effortless. Always a good time to have a conversation, no matter what you do you just feel so jolly and contented. Even if there's a problem, he'd try his best to solve it. I like being around him, he just brings out the positive, bubbly and spontaneous side in me. The moment he was gobsmacked when I first kissed him still easily puts a smile on me. The right one/relationship should always make you a better person if not the best.

How I knew I met the love of my life was when he said on Mother’s Day to me: “you’d make a pretty epic mom.” Knowing that I did not have my mother around... mind you, this was a little over a year of us dating when he said this. Second time in that following topic/discussion was when he said I’m a strong lady and that being a mom would happen for me as it did for my mother and for me to just stay inspired.

Just one month in to a new relationship. Somewhat of a long story but a man from my teenage years is now back in my life after about 35 years. We have been dating and we are both out of our first marriages. I am nervous of the feelings I have for him so quickly but they are everything you just mentioned in you video. Easy to be together and feel at peace. Hopefully I have found the one, only time will tell but at this stage it feels great!

I can't say my relationship has been easy because we have strong avoidant and anxious parts. But we have always had very deep conversations and bring out the best in each other. We fight but we make peace every time with meaningful talks and both always adapting bad behavior. We fought a lot, because we triggered each other so much. But we talked, analyzed and improved our behavior so much. Talking about our wounds and helping to heal. Now we don't fight often anymore and our goal is to be ourselfes completely and at the same time harmonious and peaceful. We still don't fit into the peaceful category but I think we might get there..

I know I found the one... when us being in a LDR. He supports me with my career, emotional swings and life hurdles. His support keeps me excited for our meetings... whenever it is going to be And the special mention... he quits smoking so that he can fly to me ❤️ as we both live miles apart.

Obviously I do... and may be that’s why we staying in LDR since an year. Feelings have to be mutually strong in a relationship to continue.
From the moment I met him, I knew we were meant to be, but what made me realize a series of events that happened early on in our relationship that would normally send a guy running. On one particular night we finally met up and decided to go walk along the river, I had just found out an ex was tragically killed in an auto accident. I was upset and crying. Keep in mind this was very early in our relationship. He patiently listened, offered loving words and held me close. I'm so blessed to have him in my life. And I will grow old by his side.
Being with him...gives me such a deep sense of comfort! ♥️
I'm a person who has a disability and I knew that I had found the one when I told him what my disability was and he said you are still a person. And in that one moment I just knew that he had touched my heart.
it is so true about this concept about feeling the peacefulness of the relationship. I fell in love when I was a teenager and it was total chaos from that day on in my life. Constant drama and solving his problems with other individuals where he got into conflict. Should have paid attention but I was so young and naive back then. Now I will be liberated from this very soon and start my new life whether alone or in the future with somebody who will give me that peaceful relationship that I crave for. happy for those who did find the one who gave them that peaceful love.

I met my future husband in an AOL chat room. We were total strangers living in separate states. We were married less than two years later. We just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary and we have a 14 year old daughter.
But how did you make it work when he lived in a completely different state? Asking because I always said long distance is stupid and would never do it, and here I find myself flown across the country to meet someone last month. They are now flying across the country to meet me. But how can this logistically continue? I feel like a fool honestly.
Javier Miranda-Lozano the short answer is I moved 6 hours away. He was divorced and didn’t want to live that far away from his child. After a few months we discussed the distance issue and I agreed to make the move.
Starting life over at 32 was not easy, but he was the one for me and I knew it.

It was definitely the case for my first husband. It was impossible for me to make him angry or upset. He was exactly like the man in the story. We were happily married for 23 years until he passed last fall.
I thought it would be impossible to find that kind of goodness again, but it happened! I will marry this man because even though he is very different in terms of personality, the way he treats me, the kindness and ease and gentle devotion feels EXACTLY THE SAME as the way my late husband treated me.
So that must be how you can know. The way you want to be treated must be there. That’s a character issue. Don’t chase chemistry, chase kindness. I guarantee that, given time in the care of someone really good, they become so infinitely desirable because you can trust them to keep your heart. You literally long to give it to them. All the attraction will follow the actions, I promise!
But first you must love yourself enough to accept that kind of care.
I don't feel like either of us could mess up with each other. Very open and honest emotionally.
No one will ever love you until they get to know you. I see what is love.. love is not difficult to understand. Someone who loves you will always think of you and talk good things about you even when you are not present. Someone who will tell you the truth in front of your face.
I knew by how well we both felt with each. Very easy flowing. He is supportive of me and does not get mad that way. We have had small arguments but he always comes back with it’s all good theses things happen. Never goes crazy mad like that. I am the one who gets crazy mad. He just waits for me to finish and says I love you. Melts me every time.
Well I just started talking to a guy and it’s been 3 months yesterday ☺️ and it’s been easy to talk to him. For the first time in my life, I feel peace with this guy and I have never had that with any guy before. I know it’s still early but it just feels easy and just thinking about him makes me smile 😃
I woke up this morning feeling so anxious about the man I am currently dating. I’ve been feeling like I’ve been having a fight with my head and heart! My heart knows he’s the one and I have all the confirmation I need! Then my head makes me think this might be just like all my other failed relationship attempts. How you know - you don't have any doubts. You don't see any red flags. You just know. You know deep in your heart that this is it, and you don't need to ask the question because you feel it way too strongly.
I knew that I had found a good man , when he said I was stubborn and had work.But worth it. I that I should not change. 🥰
That's my gf😂 I told her she's a pain in my ass, but I wouldn't have her any other way, and she is tottaly worth it. And she says the same about me.
I've only been with my partner for 6 months but already things feel different. I am at ease with him. I didn't have a massive attraction for him in the beginning, however, it has grown steadily every day since and I feel it's only going to continue to grow. There were times I realized I made a mistake of some sort and apologized to him for it but he reassures me that it's alright. We communicate openly. I am a very empathetic individual and he can't hide anything from me because of it. With past relationships, I would get the feeling something was wrong and they would tell me they're fine. I knew there was something because I could feel it, but they'd hide it from me anyways. This would cause me to doubt myself and question whether I was doing something wrong. My current partner doesn't cause me to doubt myself or question what I am doing is right. I can have the confidence and be myself with him. It's taking a lot of self-esteem conditioning to break, but he's comfortable to be with me on that journey to help me become the best version of myself and I respect and appreciate him the way he deserves equally in return. I'm there to help him be the best version of himself too. ^^
I am still in the process but I know he is the one because it is easy to be me around him and vise versa. I am analyzing myself on my previous relationships. It makes me be someone for them. But this one, i would say it brings out my worse and best attitude. Worse because of jealousy. Best is how i attack this negative factor to be in positive factor.

I think I have found someone with lasting potential. We have been nothing but honest with each other and we have great communication. We both have agreed to take it slow since we are both recovering from past relationships. There is definite physical and personality chemistry too. We both talk more and more openly over the course of the last few months.

He was my parents handyman I never met until I bought my own house and he did work for me and I felt so secure around him and safe when he was around. We became friends and then had a date where he cooked for me. I lost my only child of 13 6mo ago and have grief storms and he can tell when I'm hiding it and he told me to express it anytime because that's the only way to heal. To not worry about him and his reactions as this is about me and my child and our love and my healing. Plus, when we go shopping we are both goof balls like best friends. He told me last night "Its so easy to love you, with work being hectic and people being crazy I know I have you and you are so easy to love" yep, he's the one

I’m dating this guy, very much a gentleman and at first I thought this was just a ploy, considering my dating history but the moment I realised this was just who he was , was when the first time I got into his car a piece of the interior had come off and stuck to my hair, he pulled it away and apologised, I thought that’s sweet, then every time since, as I’m getting into the car he holds that piece up so it doesn’t stick to my hair.
That was the moment I knew I had met a very special man.
We are still in the very early stages but I’m enjoying his company. Thank you to Matt, because without your videos and advice about life and love I may have not given this guy a chance.

I know I've fount the one because in past relationships I'd see video like that or read stuff and try to fit it to the person I was with well this persons like this but he does it like this etc but with this relationship I don't have to do that what i read and what i see fits to him and I don't have to justify or adjust it to him in anyway

I met my fiancé on bumble. I never believed in dating sites but one day I was on Facebook and it said “don’t wait for fate” with the bumble app so I went ahead and installed it. I just moved to a new area w my parents so I was interested to meet different people. We swiped right on each other instantly and of course the woman has to message first so I did! I usually wouldn’t. I said hi and we never ever stopped talking. We had so much in common. Our first date when he hugged me it felt like home. Felt like I’ve known him for eternity. We had a long distance relationship for a year and a half and sometimes we wouldn’t see each other for a month or more! But in April we moved in together and in novermber he proposed. He is my soulmate and my best friend. He makes me laugh like no other person ever has. He doesn’t judge me. He grows with me. I never second guessed my feelings for him and I feel at ease and at peace with him. He LOVES me and I love him. I could not see my life without him. I can’t wait to marry him. I’m so thankful I found my soulmate!!!
Also when I met him I was reading the alchemist. One quote said “I love you because the entire universe conspires to help me find you”. And it’s true. It al came together perfectly. All the heart break I dealt with in the past trying to force relationships was all meant to be so that I could learn to love the right way for when he finally came. Ladies and gents don’t take heart breaks as failure take it as learning lessons so that you can learn how to love for when the right man comes
