When I watch your tutorials, I feel like I have been on a an incredible journey! You truly are a Master of the paint brushes. Poetry in motion for sure. Thank you so very much for sharing your profound talent and your precious time. The painting is beautiful, and it was great to watch you bring it to life.
Beautiful painting. I love it. I cannot paint but really enjoyed watching how you put it all together. I am hoping to learn . You are inspiring. Thank you Jason!
Nicely done. Your demeanour, voice, and brush strokes make watching you paint a very enjoyable experience. Thanks. You look and sound like a guy who would be great to talk to about painting over a beer. Cheers bro.
WOW! You never cease to amaze me! I so love your style of painting and the ease in which you instruct your fans. You make it easy to follow and that is a real plus for those of us wanting to learn so much in a short period of time. You are PURE MAGIC...how you breathe life into a painting boggles the mind. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent and your time!!!
love your works and thanks for sharing!! I agree "no rules", I believe some would say it's all about rules! :) whatever gets you where you want end up, aye? Ya..... so glad I found your channel .....
I painted a picture similar to this recently and I found putting a thin coat of clear medium on first before the blue/green colour helped to even out the paint distribution more, this helps later on as less scrubbing is required to get the desired effect. other than that good effort and nice subject.
Jason! Bob Ross would never have left that tree there all alone without a friend. ;) If you want your trees to be happy trees, they need friends. However, this one standing there all alone looks like a Christmas tree, even though it isn't decorated. It's very pretty. :) Very nice job. :)
Hi there. I enjoyed this video! I want to do a water series. I use a palette knife but I wondered how to create that transparent water effect. What do you think I should do?
Would laying on the glaze (liquid clear and pthalo blue) go better if a light coat of liquid clear was laid over the whole canvas first? It seems like you are working it in very hard and the grain of the canvas is showing through heavily.. Thanks for sharing! It is good stuff.
i wish i could let loose on painting im a beginner and watching you paint and saying there are no rules im always worried its not good enough ugh! thanks for that too im just going to do it i dont have liquid white or clear its annoying i thought i had everything i needed but idc now lol just going to do it!
I have a question. I heard that Ross oil paint is super thick. Can anyone tell me how it compares to say W&N Artist oil colors? I am looking for an oil paint that is as thick as possible. (and a high pigment load of course) Any suggestions? TY!!
G'day Jason, the initial rocks under water and glaze were a good lesson, but you need to concentrate on the land mass as it became overbearing on the entire picture. Just a bit of constructive critisisim.
i'm usually really impressed with your water/skies...but this one, not as impressed. imo, it started off good, but then i felt you got abit too carried away with the waves, especially over the rocks. also, i didn't care much for the treeline, and that hill thing on the right. it was abit too abstract for me. please don't take this as negative. i really enjoy your work.
I think some tones do not go well to the right side and the tree I see it alone, very badly finished, the left side does not seem to have a sea, rather it seems a storm. :(
It's hard to find old Joy of Painting episodes streaming, so I really appreciate people like you picking up where Mr. Ross left off. Keep it up man.

beau partage merci beaucoup
I love the rocks-I will try that technique tonight!!! I use acrylics but if I add a medium, it should be fine, right?
Would laying on the glaze (liquid clear and pthalo blue) go better if a light coat of liquid clear was laid over the whole canvas first? It seems like you are working it in very hard and the grain of the canvas is showing through heavily.. Thanks for sharing! It is good stuff.

I like your long hair.
a thank you and hug from China :)
WHY DO YOU USE BLACK GESSO INSTEAD OF PAINT? DID YOU SAY GLAZE?
he probably used black and white gesso because it dries a lot faster than oils
Gesso is just a posh name for Acrylic or any water based quick drying medium
Bob Ross Rules. There are rules.
Yeah.
i'm usually really impressed with your water/skies...but this one, not as impressed.
