In today's video, we show a complete removal of the stock intake system and installation of the ECS Tuning Kohlefaser Luft-Technik intake system for the Audi B9 S4. The install is very simple and can be done with basic hand tools.
The intake not only looks great, but it increases turbo induction sounds and provides a horsepower gain, even on the factory stock software. Once a tune is released for this engine, it's likely that gains will be even larger.
The Engineering team at ECS Tuning has spent countless hours in the development of the exclusive B9 S4 3.0T Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake System. This intake was precision engineered using state of the art laser scanning, dyno testing, and 3D CAD technology to combine factory-like fitment in your engine bay with increased engine performance.
This intake is crafted of high quality hand laid carbon fiber with a fiberglass interior layer to achieve world class appearance and durability while resisting the performance robbing effects of heat soak. The turbo inlet hose is crafted of a high quality 4-ply silicone to achieve increased durability and resistance to collapsing. We also include a bellmouth (velocity stack) filter flange inlet to reduce turbulence and maximize flow.

Just bought a used original Airbox and cutted some plastic on the front fender side away, so no water can get in. Sounds the same and also doesn´t pull hot air in. This ECS Intake is great and looks fantastic. But too expensive for me.

I come from Subaru platform. We never install an intake without a proper tune. How come can you install an intake without a tune and without compromising safety? Whats up with this?

The B9 S4 and S5 are the same, they'll work on either :)
What springs are mounted on that S4?… I wanna get my A4 to that exact same height between the wheels and the tires. It looks great

Why should it do that? All changed parts are before the sensors.
hey Ecs, is it okay to have an intake installed but not have a tune? will this affect air fuel ratios in the turbo on an audi
You don't need a tune for the intake. The car will be perfectly fine.
Sounds like you are probably from the Subaru crowd lol (Laughing with you) As I too am from the Subie crowd. But hey I also belong to the Audi crowd, as I have definitely enjoyed my fair share of them.
Update, I got a downpipe aswell and stage 2 tune hahaha works amazing

Install went great for me except for the part where I dropped an allen wrench in my engine 👀

@@ecstuning It's all good. It fell to the floorpan. Took it to my local mechanic who got it up on a lift, pulled the floorpan off and got it out for the low cost of zero dollars.

I just ordered the intake for my 2018 S5 Sportback (Daytona Gray and Magma Red interior) and will be reporting to ECS the installation results, I don't anticipate any issues. I am about to receive my Tune from TMC Motorsports out of Belfast, Ireland as well. 420 plus the intake...

I will be installing it soon. It should work on the S5 as well same engine. ECS hasn't formally installed it on an S5 yet.
I installed the intake on my 2018 S5 sportback and it is a perfect fit... The turbo whistle is quite nice.

Imagine dropping one of these screws in the engine bay.
Bro, it happens with the 2 small screws that puts the heat shield and the red filter adapter! Even when you tighten them, they will fall off make sure you use locktite or something I had to get a set of 2 screws in home depot. I manage to get one out but the other one I think might’ve fallen out or something

Glover Carvalho This probably flows no better than stock. Modern OEM intakes are usually very well optimized.
@@borderwave2 Probably, but regulations still. Just like exhausts, a Lamborghini is louder than my Audi with an aftermarket exhaust. But the Lamborghini is legal and my Audi isn't (Switzerland)

@@Robteee I'll disagree, I didn't get to a place where I could afford a B9 S4 by being wasteful. I'll argue that the stock airbox with a less restrictive air filter and the intake Air scoop shows the same improvement.
