I send them the working drawings and I will highlight any additional trays that I’ve stuck in, it’s only one in this particular case. I will ask them to consider the tray but it’s always easier to grab some rockwool and place it behind the tray yourself. Insulation guys will issue a drilling pattern before arriving and I will make sure they stick to it so we have no cold spots! Great question 👍🏻
How things again them lentils with the installation in them are very good we use them but the problem I c is the bottom is soiled as in cold bridge and cost is mad what's Yr take cheers
Hey Tony , Just want to commend you on a very informative professional video. Found it very interesting especially the section on lintels and damp trays.👍😊
Love the channel on the bay window where the block work meets the brickwork shouldn't there be a vertical dpc? To stop damp tracking across regards Howard from Cyprus
To be honest no, I want to keep it nice and simple, just plain brickwork, externals finished nicely and good landscaping! I want the house to look rustic 👍🏻
off topic but. when laying soldiers over a lintel and under a window on a house thats going to be rendered. how much should you have them sticking out by?
Foundations were pulled before regs were changed and you also don’t necessarily need to use insulation to meet the new regs, there are many different aspects that help you meet Part L, most will meet new regs with bigger cavity widths though. Some of our clients pulled as many foundations as they could before cut off date in June to avoid Part L.
Another excellent video, the construction standard for your house looks far superior to a normal estate house, a key benefit of building your own house. Your presentation is excellent and informative, you clearly really know what you are talking about. Keep the visas coming. Does your company only do large scale building jobs or do you do one-off builds, I live near Devizes and hope to build a replacement home starting hopefully next year?
Hello, thanks for the kind words, its much appreciated. I think the new build housing sector gets a bad rap sometimes, the standard across the industry really has improved, of course there are the odd horror story but I do think the standard has improved. We undertake big sites, single dwellings, extensions, renovations and conversions. We pretty much tackle it all but it also depends on location, timing, work load etc We also have a finishing team who tackle everything after we get works in the dry 👍🏻
@@Tone_Team Thx for your reply. Unfortunately we have been one of the horror storied we hd a new build in Calne, a Persimmon home and it was a horror story, we have also recently had a workshop built that has had to be demolished and rebuilt it has taken so far 5yrs and we are only at foundations completed. I'm sure there are many good builders out there but because they are good they are extremely busy. I will certainly contact you when we get to the appropriate phase. Cheers again, looking forwards to the next video.
Hardly that bad mate it’s my microphone 😂 when laurel bushes are in position gate closed I’ll be fine, I’ll stick some ear defenders on! Road only busy at rush hour
Tbf I’ve never had a lintel schedule on domestic work. If the opening is large I usually over do it but I think I should probably change this. Does it cost anything for the schedule? ✌🏻🧱
No charge mate from lintel supplier, they will do calcs for you! To be fair you can make an educated guess but I never would of thought they wanted an extra heavy duty over the utility room door for example
How's things nice looking job do the pump installation boy no where Yr dpc trays are?

No problem we always highlight dpc trays with spray paint on internal block work otherwise it will be drill through
@@walshjames1020 good idea that 👍🏻

Hi Howard, that is what the black, plastic preformed tray is for instead of the vertical damp you refer to 👍🏻
Flying along nicely. Didn’t fancy soldiers over the lintels at the rear ?

@@Tone_Team nice one.

This will all depend on specification and type of render, usually around 15-20mm but always check with render company 👍🏻
Good explain man❤ good video❤
Thank you, glad you liked it👍🏻
So did you put in for planning and regs before they revised regs ? which includes the 90mm celotex cavity insulation
