Hey love the video... trying to decide between Navis of Corvus. Ski an Aries right now. Why was the Navis your favorite? Thanks so much
Great question! We love both the Navis Freebird and Corvus Freebird. The technology is very similar, with the biggest difference between the two being the waist width. For backcountry skiing in Colorado, we've just found the 102mm waist on the Navis Freebird to be a bit more versatile than the 109mm waist on the Corvus Freebird. We'd consider the Navis Freebird as an "all-mountain" touring option, while the Corvus Freebird will handle powder better. If you have any other questions, give us a shout at info@powder7.com!
Thanks so much for the reply!! Would a guy do well with a Camox and Corvus combo or go Navi’s for an all in one setup? Are you all in CO?
@@thatguy5586 Yes, we are in Golden, CO! The Camox Freebird is a pretty different ski from the Navis Freebird and Corvus Freebird. It's a bit lighter and certainly more playful. Based on that, I think it depends what you're searching for in your backcountry quiver. If you want a more playful ski, and another that can handle the downhill better, then the Camox Freebird/Corvus Freebird combo would be awesome! However, if you're an aggressive skier and want something that can ski hard on the descent, I think the Navis Freebird would be your ski.
Hey Matt, short and to the point, great job. I'm 5,6 and 135lbs and look into the Navis. Should I aim for the 167 or 173, a friend of mine suggests the Navis should be skied shorter than manheight ?? Thanks.
Hey there, I would actually recommend skiing the Navis in a size close to what you're used to skiing for resort skis. I am 5 7/160, and I stuck with the 179...I do prefer longer skis. So if you ski longer skis as well, I'd go with 173. If not, 167 should do the trick. -Matt
Matt, great preview. I'm 5'8" and 160LBS. Experienced skier. What length would you suggest in the Camox?
Hey John, I am 5'7" 160 and I ski the Camox Freebird in a 178cm. I think that would be perfect for you if you're skiing aggressively. -Matt
Thanks sir!
Great video. Are any of these good for female skiers? I'm looking for a solid ski on the descent but still have energy after the climb. Not too interested in too much flex of a soft ski. Thanks.
Hi, great question! Black Crow Freebird skis are friendly for both women and men on the up hill and a great ski to crush it on the downhill. They have created various lengths to accommodate the skiers height. Contact us at info@powder7.com if you have any more questions or want to chat about a specific model!
