one sensor is normally O2 sensor (lambda) then you have an exhaust gas sensor at turbo, before dpf and after the dpf. These are G235 (before turbo), G495 before DPF and G648 after DPF. Hope this helps 🙂
Strange the scanner did not see it. I watched another video on same CACY engine and it was spotted on an ODBEleven scanner! The scanner there showed the faulty sensor with a temp of 99.98 ºC and stayed that way when unplugged. That’s how he identified it.
@ORileysAutos Hi I have an Audi A6 2019 C8 with the same code "P242A00 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor3" but I don't which part to get. Can you please tell me which sensor this is, i.e. before turbo, before cat, before DPF or after DPF? Any links for specific part will be very helpful please. Thank you
Its marked as G495 on the diagram. Intresting to know if vcds will give you Gnumber in the code discription. G235 sensor 1 black plug G495 sensor 3 brown G648 sensor 4 orange. I am lost where sensor 2😂😂
Not all VAG engines use sensor 2, but sensors will still be labelled 1, 3, and 4 even if sensor 2 is not used. VCDS shows live data on these engines with 1, 3 and 4. But does not give them as G495, just lists as bank 1 sensor 3 etc
I have this same issue on a 2011 Skoda fabia with the same engine and was wondering what you used to undo the sensor as I have found access really limited
I have exactly the same vehicle but fan comes on when I turn on the ignition on cold start ready checked the fan module and no fault codes also reading live data the sensor tempteature looks fine..doest the exhaust gas sensors also turn on the fan?

Need to make sure you get the correct one at those prices

Yeah had that one on a few tdi polo’s, I swear the brown plug one is ridiculously expensive
Customer went and picked it up. I think she said it was £350 😯
@@ORileysAutos ouch!!
@@ORileysAutos that's shocking ! vw are like mw services , they think of a price then treble it !
Just got that on a tdi polo, what did you do to fix it?

Pretty sure it was just a standard spanner
Had the same head scratcher with a Skoda sensor 2 was
Sensor 2 is lambda sensor
What size spanner is the sensor?
17mm

If you have this issue check allllll earth wires mate. If theres a one broke or not connected, it will put the fans on permanent. Hope this helps
