    I was really glad to see this video. When I was around 15 I installed my first engine in a Chevy Monza 2+2. What I soon discovered was that there was a lot of haters in this field. That turned me off and away from the profession. I went another route in making a living for the next 25 years. Then I lost my job and had to come up with a way to make the ends meet. So for the last 20 plus years I'm back at turning wrenches. Those haters from back end the day have children, and haters breed haters. A guy came to me complaining about a newbie to the profession calling him dumb. I said "he's not dumb, he just didn't know." He said "my 15 year old son could've answered that." I said "could he have answered it when he was 10 or 5 years old." He said "well no, but I don't get your point." I said "my point is we all didn't know at some time or another." So 2 thumbs up 2 you my brother. There is no dumb question. There is only dumb people who refuse to ask when they don't know.

Hopefully after that, my check engine light will stay the hell off based on these sensors! I believe that these manufacturers make these parts with cheap quality so they can make more money hoping that you will bring your car back to the dealer so they can keep bending you over, and sticking you long, hard, and ashy! No grease, no spit, no KY, not even motor oil, or any type of lubricant! Thanks GM! (General Mistake)!!!

    Very good explanation. Thank you for the video. Do you have recommendation on when to change out the o2 sensors or do you wait until it breaks to replace?

    • @OnlineMechanicTips
      @OnlineMechanicTips  3 года назад +6

      Hey bud, thanks for watching. Those O2 sensors are monitored by the car computer. So when the voltage/time parameter reach fail zone, the computer should tell you by way of a check engine light. But, a O2 sensor can simply become lazy and never reach that parameter of failure for the light to come on. Some say replace an O2 sensor right at 100k whether theres a code or not because its likely lazy and could affect the way car runs.

    I don't care if you speak the Queen's English properly, or not. You're smart enough to get your point across, and I'm smart enough to understand it. I'm in the exact same position as the guy who approached you initially, so I knew my O2 sensor was bad, but I had no idea where bank 1 sensor 2 was located. I do now, and it's thanks to you. Keep up the good work!

    Great Video!
    I drive a '06 Mercedes Benz e350.
    Check engine light comes on and with a code reader, it read P2A03; O2 Sensor circuit range/ Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1.
    I've watched other videos upon the location of Bank 2 Sensor 1 is located.
    But your video had broke it down for me at precisely the exact location on where I need to be under the car to replace a brand new oxygen sensor.
    Thank you so much! You just saved me at least $500.00 by taking it to the dealership shop or any other shops.
    I really appreciate it! 👍🏽🤙🏽

    This is a great explanation when everybody else is only showing you how to replace it. I know how to turn a socket, but which one? This video helps to show that. Also, everybody knows Cadillac, and catalytic are used interchangeably. How many people take the time to say Feb-roo-rary. We all pronounced it Feb-yoo-airy and get on with our day. Great job! (Meanwhile, I wish I had a Cadillac converter. I'm getting tired of my 1996 Grand Am.)
