custom air refresheners that hang from the rear view mirror would be game changing
yoo that is gonna be insane with physics wow
Haha funi fart air smel
always wanted to have an air freshener in a car I'm about to wreck in 2 seconds.
Yes please!
One of the mods I installed came with this option. Watching the air freshener fling back when driving was really fun.
I’m really sorry brothers but I don’t remember the name of the mod

We saw it! Not sure about implementing it exactly as you said (c) though. Your assessment of how easy some of these things would be to implement may be just a tiny bit inaccurate :D
Always looking forward to hearing your suggestions of course
NICE BEAMNG👍

how come i knew y'all would comment!!! it's so awesome that you guys are so open to suggestions and criticism 😎
I'm sure I could code it all in a couple minutes

legit the coolest game developers, also how hard would it be for slippery when wet roads?
Tire popping from burnouts or excessive tire wear would be a cool addition and would give sim racers another thing to watch out for too
that would be a next level of realism. and if tires actually wear out and handling performance slightly decreases.
and if you keep burning out the rim starts to glow
AIR BAGS could be done so easily because they already have one in game in the form a giant one that can catch your car
Kaboom
the man commented
big man
yeah, but from what i seen Tdev said they can't due to the sims limits
You literally don't know how to drive and operate a manual car, so I don't trust you know anything about game development to say something is easy to implement.
Key word: Gaint.
Nodes don't work too well when placed so close to each other, airbags would need to have very few nodes which would make them clunky and look bad in crashes, and also spiky as hell, maybe in the future they can fix the node issue but for now if they ever implemented it with the current limits it would look bad.
In the topic of interior interaction i think A/C simulation would be nice, specially with dynamic weather update. Imagine you having a foggy windshield and turning on the A/C. Also for the covet turning off the A/C for more POWERR
Agreed. And if it's hot outside and your in career mode, Imagine if you have to put your Aircon on Because your Driver is getting Hot. And then you Crash and then your A/C doesn't work and it's just the Fan
Calm down man we still dont have good working tire physics.
@@BubbleDouble True that
Yes! That would be so cool
probably would be to hard to make but this wouldn't be hard physics
I personally would love to see an overhaul to the optimization of lighting in the game. When creating maps, its hard to add a lot of lights in a map without it lagging like crazy. I think even just a LOD (level of detail) for the light could help to.
Didn't think of that, but I strongly agree
Also, you mentioning LODs made me remember how bad the pop in is right now
The shaders in game and colour stuff also needs editing because it’s not realistic like you can’t have good perlecents
@@yellowflag4803 I personally actually really like how the lighting looks, especially on placed lights. But I can see why one would say they are not realistic.
Talking about lights, light effects on cars needs a bit of rework aswell imo, sometimes they're a bit too dark (atleast in my experience) especially tail lights and indicators, what id like to see if obviously brighter but also detailed lights with variety, kinda like in GTA 5 where LEDs looks different from Halogen for example, and to add to that, light beam effects so how the light travels from car to environment just looks way better, and to top it for me, car interior lighting that you can toggle would be really nice
I think everyone wants that tbh.
The triple glasses is a certified drip classic 🥶

The stuff we need in the next update is definitely Mud build up, scratches, airbags, dynamic weather

But yeah I totally agree with your thoughts, especially the mud build up thing :)

@@TorutheRedFox dust is alredy in the game

I would really like to see tires upgraded. The first time i started messing with the UI apps i was so surprised there was no tire management or something similar. It seems like something that would so perfectly fit into Beam ng. Even just different tires with different levels of grip at certain temperatures would be nice and if the devs really wanna go ham, they could add so much more like tire pressure, wear, flatspots when locking up the brakes, deformation, etc. So yeah, a tire update is something i really would like to see.
id like to see more Tire variation other than Standard, sport, race and the different Offroad tires
Tyre pressure is an option in the tuning section for your car. Tyre deformation is a thing too, unless you're talking about something else.
Although, I agree, better Tyre management and customisation would be cool :)
@@AN2Felllla i did not know about the tire pressure, and with deformation i was talking more about the actual rim deforming so lets see what the devs come up with in the future
@@pawel5763 The rim can deform like everything else. It's just not easy to pull it off while not destroying the whole car in the process - just like in real life. Try hitting a tall curb at high speed.
You can also chose different types of tires in the parts menu. There are standard, old, low rolling resistance, sport, rally, race, all grip, drift, heavy duty and offroad. Some only fit on certain wheels, so play around with it a little.
As already stated above, tire pressure can be adjusted per axle in the tuning menu and tires also deform, although not permanently. Try a big tire, lower the air pressure and drive on something sharp, like a rock or a curb. You will see it deform. Hope this helps :)
Beamng's ai need to have a race mode. Sometimes putting cars on tracks and eneableing ai to "random" not always work so good. Thats why beamng's ai really need a seperate mode where ai would drive aggresivly on the track. That would be awesome. Who agrees?
Literally a dream
There's ways to make custom AI paths and give them more aggression, but a simple Race Mode button would be such a nice QOL feature
Usually I go to West Coast USA's racetrack and use flee to make it seem like a race,
It works quite well most of the time
yeah and also when you have AI you should be able to have street raceing with them or they try to street race you etc
Totally right👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️✌️
Tbh, i completely agree with Muye here, and, to me, the most important is weather (i would love to go offroad in jungle rock island while in a storm, with a lot of puddles in the ground), but i also understand people that want tyre thermals before that
It may seem small, but I feel like the ability for each wheel to be different would be fun. You could have a spare tire or a rim without a tire.
Always wanted that, would be great if you can have a tab to select if the wheels can be different or not
would be interesting too as you could have like old tires on one side and see how it affects braking
i love making shitty old cars too though so I would love some rather wonderful mismatched wheel trims
Amazing! I'd love to have 45 degrees of camber on one side and 45 degrees of toe on the other side just for fun
@@rovertwonefour "i love making shitty old cars". Did we just become friends? I've spent probably half of the 800 hours in Beam building nothing but scrap piles that lower property values.
@@md_vandenberg third gen renault espace in a condition not suitable for even farm yards mm mmmmm
A lot of these things are very hard to do since there are still limitations to the game engine itself. If certain things were added such as the ability to use animated meshes or object-perspective scene rendering, then it could be a different story. I don’t do much modding anymore but I’m still excited to see where the future takes BeamNG

I've started to use motion blur and it makes the game feel way faster

@@MuYe how
@@thebyzocker idk but my brother is one of em, he said the sudden blur hurts his eyss
In my case, CPU fan was much faster than game 💀👍🏼
If you didn't point this out already, the ability to rip, tear, or otherwise break materials in half would make the game feel more realistic. For example, sliding into a tree at 250 miles per hour (402 kilometers per hour) would result in a car being cut in half, and flying into a catchfence for any reason at high speeds would result in the car tearing apart, with parts like the fender getting grinded into shrapnel.
I'm with you for the tires. Being able to make them pop from heat, having flat spots, drive on the rims or having the wheels be unbalanced because of potholes and such would be very cool
Totally agree, except rim damage is already a thing. You can bend a rim and it'll make your car bob up and down. Also fun fact heavy duty tires that look the same as their normal variant pop harder effectively being able to carry more weight.
ajo a neptunia fan out in the wild? lets gooo
I'm pretty sure that wheels already pop from heat if you do a long enough burnout for example. I'd love a better tyre simulation tho
@@nanodebortoli tried that multiple times and it didn't pop. Need to try it again with the new updates but I don't think it's implemented yet

From most important features: dirt simulation (vehicles should get dirty and be able to be cleaned), possibility to fix vehicle part by part in service location, possibility to refuel car at gas station or from another vehicle with fuel canister / tank
Severe optimization is 100% what we need first before all of these
yeah i have to turn off shadows in order to have a stable framerate with the settings i like

How did you upload the comment one hour ago?

I just want slipstream/drafting.
Even if it's just a shotty mod that lowers drag coef when following another car
I've been drafting and warming up my tyres ,without knowing that they don't affect anything for a solid three years
@@MuYe bruh moment
People will try and draft off of me bc they think they're clever
you can currently *kinda* draft. if you use cars with tailgates, since beamng's aerodynamics are so wonky, if you open your tailgate, you go faster. So you could use this as as slip streaming. Just gotta trust that your friends will close the tailgate when they pass you...
@@DMR_Videos it's so funny that it works that way because it's the exact opposite in real life
2:32 POV: your the traffic cars in any racing game
I’d like the option to have a “Dash Cam” camera view, where you can place your camera on your windshield but still have the sound of inside the car. I know you can already do some of this with the relative camera view, but some cars won’t let this happen or require awkward camera positions.
or a camera thats behind the steering wheel lik in other racing sims
@@borgdroneof there is the ability to disable the steering wheel and also reposition the camera with the seat keybinds. tedious but possible.
@@LooperEpic yeah i dont like the Tedious part
i did that al long time ago aa well but i dont understand why it isnt in the game already
My pick probably would be engine and a few other sounds, sounds right now are alright, V8 sounds like V8, 4 cylinders sounds like 4 cylinders, etc etc. But i kinda want it a bit more dynamic? I guess an example is how the FCV has a unique 4 cylinder sound compared to the rest of the lineup (correct me if im wrong), and maybe the Automation sounds too. lastly this one is probably easier to implement but maybe those dings and beeps when you start up, changing into reverse, crashing, safety aids warning, check engine lights etc would definitely add immersion, to top it off, working infotainment (maybe add a user music folder), interior lights toggle, openable windows, interactive interior trims (sun shade, gloveboxes, wheel adjust, seat adjust, maybe even AC? kek).
Screen Space Global Illumination is absolutely needed to make this game look 10/10
ssgi would need to be raytraced if you want dynamic lighting, so that's like 50 things to add to the checklist
@@aiexzs RTGI and SSGI are way different things, SSGI does not require a "ray tracing" as you mention. You can get SSGI even from third party apps
antialiasing is way more important though if you don't have a 1440p+ monitor
@@theneonbop beamng has antialiasing
@@z3nsiter oh sorry i think i got the two mixed up, i now see the “ss” in ssgi lol
In terms of liquid simulation, they should just do what Snowrunner did. The water is only just a plane but deforms when an object interacts with it
Proper Rain and snow implimentation would be a game changer, with handling, windscreen wipers etc.
Adding weather would be an vibe and i see my self playing with rain more then just on dry weather
1:44 StichinStein already did that with a mod some time ago, but only the D-Series and Sunburst(?) and without rain
realistic smoke effects and dirt build up would be nice because rn if u drive on dirt no dirt builds up only until you pull the handbrake or something
Relating to tire physics, I want to be able to do a burnout and have the tires somewhat realistically come apart, possibly damaging other parts of the car depending on how good the burnout is.
Custom spawnpoints would be game changing, there’s a lot of cool areas (such as the dirt oval on West Coast USA) that need spawnpoints but don’t have them for whatever reason.
5:51 we all ready have orange brakes there called no texture
I wish there was electrical physics, like those windshield wipers, working battery gauges (i forgot wat they’re called), the battery level goes down when more electrical load is placed on them and the electrics can get fried when the car goes underwater.
Would love to see aerodynamics affect other cars and not just one at a time so you could drive behind another car and draft behind them. Would make racing a lot more fun especially if it works on beammp
That would be cool.
And if a supercar charges past you, or a semi truck, the draft would shake your poor tic tac
2:44 HELL YEAH even Rigs of Rods had surface damage
Something i kinda miss is being able to simulate parts rupturing. Most of the times where vertexes get somehow stretched over infinity is because the metal should've ripped in real life, but it can't in the game. Progress has been made on the latest cars, but for example, if a rim has to split in two because of a pothole or a headlight has to shatter in a million pieces in real life, it'd be nice to see that in game.
Dynamic weather would be sooo sick🔥 I would love to have a locking feature and side mirrors would switch pisition on modern cars😁
The end of the video is top😂😂😂😂😂
One thing that I would really like to see integrated into the game is more realistic lights and especially turn signals. Eg. LED turn signals turn on and off immediately and Halogen lights fades between on and off. Euro Truck Simulator has realistic on and off turn signals.
That would be cool!
adding onto the tire damage id love to see tyre wear for drifting and stuff like that, i think it would be pretty cool to see sparks coming from my tires when ive been doing burnouts
overall sound overhaul. more exhaust customization (like adding different types of mufflers in sections of the exhaust that change the sound/performance) engines could use engine sim for the sounds, and i want more shifter knobs/handbrakes/racing seats so generally more interior customization
2:33 that pigeon got violated
A livery editor, in-game music (I commented this two things in a community post as well), engine swaps (just like a Ibishu Pessima V6 on a MR Covet), a Wankel Engine for the 200BX (with a complete remaster, obviously), and a remaster of the remaining cars (in fact this one is probably in progress). Also a better optimization would be good
we do need a wankel engine yesssss, also a subie boxer too
Volumetric particles like dust when driving on sand, or mud would be cool, and simulated rain + simulated puddles but that might require too much compute power
VR, paint damage, and tire thermals/damage are definitely the top 3 on my BeamNG wishlist. Really hoping those are added! 😁
0:14 i was expecting for him to turn, that caught me so off guard lmao muye is the comedy king of beamng content
So I was able to meet with one of the devs at SEMA last year and we were talking a bit about the game, he did mention that they're working on getting the tires right but its super complicated to get it right. So maybe that's something we'll see soon?
Tire thing is great, you could be driving in the sand at very low tire pressure and no beadlocks. You turn sharply and the tire pops out of place.
I think rolling windows and sunroofs would be cool and level of detail of it like maybe being able to crack the windows or stop them at like 58% down and be able to tilt the sunroof and also be able to open it
The SCS truck sims have windows that work 🙂
These should also be implemented aswell:
- Working Street Lamps for god sake
- Car dome lights and interior panel lights
- Interactive Navigation unit
- Ambient outdoor sounds
- car chimes (when opening door and ignition failed to start or engine dead)
- more car dashboard indicators
- seatbelts (toggable so If you dont like it turn them off in settings)
- better parts selector interface
- more enviromental options
- working gas stations
- CEL
When you mentioned airbags I was sure you'd mention people too. Not empty cars that can spawn white exclamation marks
The thing i most want is like you said, parts damage and the thing that me want in the game is: better crash sounds and world souns, and a refueling system at gas stations
Remaking and officially incorporating American Roads into Beam would be amazing
Oh man I sure do love the summer season in Grid, Small, Pure
if you got your way, I would need to sell everything I own to afford a PC that could run it
That's what I'm saying!!
Yes plz I need new pc
That clip of Ray tracing demo sent me back memory lane
Realistic mirrors as well as the mirror ui elements you see in ets2 would be great
BeamNG is THE one single title that has made it with me the last ten years. I knew exactly what I was looking at in 2013, my friends (18-19yo) thought it was cool but didn't really understand why I was obsessed with it so much. Back then I was more interested in car racing and lightweight handling, but still I realized that while the graphics were not on par with the likes of Forza Motorsport 4 and GTA V, the physics simulation, weight simulation, traction models were all top notch. I used to say "A simulator that I can drift with, then turn around and very effectively rock crawl with, is incredible."
In 2022 with the help of shader model upgrades, hardware advancements, and Patreon supported models, I pretty much use BeamNG as a "hotshot trucking" simulator. I have 2020 Ford chevy dodges, realistic performing and sounding engines, with all style of trailer gooseneck and bumper pull.
This game has taught me rudimentary things about 3d modeling, because I would want an 8ft bed version of a truck, so I would download Blender and learn how to edit the existing models and make the corresponding J-beam match up with what I altered. It was rather fun to see if the whole thing would work, or just spiral into oblivion lol. I also made trailers longer and stronger so I could load them down heavier with pretty good success.
Huge thanks to any developer reading this post.
My #1 wish at the moment is better antialiasing. DLSS and/or FSR would be *awesome,* but I'd take anything that works better than what BeamNG has at the moment lol
yes why do so few people notice this
@@theneonbop well yknow also overtime the game gets more laggy now with the new update
@@lucid523 mines only been improving, so idk about you. well besides the last update, that made it almost unplayable
Better anti-aliasing would definitely be nice, but DLSS or FSR won't improve performance at all, except for maybe some users playing at 4K with weaker GPUs.
@@joshjlmgproductions3313 That’s fair, but it would probably have less of a performance impact (if any) than most antialiasing methods
I think they should add breakable pieces like for instance there can be a hole in your fender or a part of your hood can be ripped away from the other one
I was always hoping for beamng to steal some spintires features like the terrain deformation and dirty cars. The work on tires squashing a bit is much appreciated.
Scrapes on cars and objects would be very cool
Trees snapping or bending would be really cool. I'm imagining palm trees bending when you crank up the wind
One of the very few problems I have with this game is when you add a brake line lock to a car it takes forever to figure out how to use it and it's annoying to use as well instead of hitting a couple buttons tuning it into a UI thing like those little buttons that let you lock or unlock the differential if you have one on your car that's a very simple thing I'd like for them to fix
Glowing exhaust manifold would look really cool in the dark.
airbags pleaseeee!!!! i haven't seen any game having airbags simulation before, but beamng is foucused on soft body and crash physics simulations, it is a must! also dirt and mud, it feels kinda awkwark finishing a whole rally track and seeing your car cleaner than if it was in a dealership
A lot of the stuff you said was spot on and honestly could see majority of that coming down the road with time. I really would like a overhaul of the mud physics and build up on the cars. It doesn’t have to be snow runner physics but have it more realistic with vehicle weights/ tires etc…. Would be nice. I think being able to make Races with AIs easier would be great.
Dude your hilarious RUclips needs this type of content you should do more stuff like this

It would be a nice small detail which should be easy to add, is when the car is off and the headlights are on, when you go to start the car the lights like, flicker or sth bc the starter uses power. And what would be cool is if when you fully move the steering wheel a certain direction it will make the rpm’s go down bc of the power it takes too. Sth like that
Being able to change the spawn/default car would be a great addition

What I want is to be able to press every single switch in the cars, be it power windows, central lock (hell, if some cars like Cherrier FCV would automatically lock that would be cool af), climate control (setting it to max temp and speed would cool the engine) and others. Also there should be an ignition toggle, it bothers me that dash lights stay on despite the engine being off. Oh yeah, the driver door should open automatically when entering/exiting.
1:52 i couldnt stop laughing

I agree with pretty much everything, I would want more refined suspension on most cars, I feel like if you put some of the cars on an alignment rack it would be horrifying. I would also want to see better drivetrain customization system, ecu with more engine control options, more exhaust and intake styles, more turbo and supercharger options, engine components. It would be really cool to add in game brands for different aftermarket parts too

Honestly, my only major requests are revamped aerodynamics like ground effect, dirty air and slipstream, also no more flying wings when they break, and tire model; if Assetto Corsa Competitzione can make an incredible tire model out of an outdated system, I'm pretty sure BeamNG can do it with their current one.
I would like to see
1) a new lighting system for car lights, right now they’re like mid powerful textures
2) better Dynamic Lighting (only work for the user car, plus does not reflect his own object and the scaling is all over the place)
3) Working Street Lights for all maps (night is extremely unrealistic right now)

In terms of features, we need working parachutes. Imagine throwing a car of a cliff and deploying a parachute and gently glide to the ground. And it would make a better and more real experience for drag cars to have parachutes that slow them down aswell. Also, working convertibles would be a nice adition (aswell as an etk k series and I-series remaster and new sedan etk)
You covered most of the suggestions from my comment, but I would love more old/used configs of cars, different lore and backstories of em. making them more quirky and lovable, as well as unique. but the ability to have changing/ability to change environmental temperature would be life changing! and YES a cars/maps video on the same topic please!
mirror update would be nice, currently you cant even see your own car in the rear view mirrors and they arent even showing the right place half the time, which makes things like towtrucks feel weird and general driving experience worse
Here's some other features (not including vehicle or map related)
Functioning windows, sunroof, seatbelts, rust and streetlights
A port to other platforms, like Console and Mobile

Beamng has so much potential to not only be it's own thing, but blow every other drive sim out the water and beat them at their own game.
the stuff that "wouldn't be that complicated to implement" would take hours of coding, modeling, etc

fires scorching the car, paint and maybe interior.
let the affected parts change model, fade, not necessarily melt, cars floating a bit before sinking. It's always satisfying
To add to your ideas, what about SnowRunner-style mud physics where spinning your tires in muddy terrain will just get you more stuck as you’re basically just digging yourself into the ground, and driving through sandy environments will damage your paint in a manner similar to sandblasting from tiny sand particles being kicked up by your tires and hitting the paint at high speeds? I honestly think it would be kind of cool to also have some sort of central tire inflation system to adjust your tire pressure on the fly without having to go into the vehicle configuration menu.
