Anyway, was really interesting hearing Acola’s view on a lot of things. Also again, kudos to Watch for his excellent translation

Yo this translator absolutely killed this event!! He did a fuckin awesome job (some of those questions were mad long and wordy) and I just want to give a shout out to him because he was the glue that held this whole cross-cultural experience together for all of us

I'm loving these interview episodes of Tweek Talks and the podcast in general, but there are a couple improvements that could be made.
1. Saying "you" instead of "acola" or "him" in the question really helps the interviewer feel more comfortable and included in the question. Instead it may feel like the panel is conversing with the translator instead.
2. Letting the translator translate back some of the banter, especially when you guys laugh at some of the hot takes because the interviewee may feel he said something dumb or is being laughed at. Or, simply trying to keep a more calm podcast environment with guests. Imagine saying something to a bunch of foreigners and they all begin laughing and shouting things you cannot understand. It could be very intimidating for someone so young and already nervous.
3. Working on not interrupting each other. Pretty self explanatory, but this is one I've noticed in regular Tweek Talks episodes too and would help the flow of episodes altogether.
4. After a rewatch, I've thought of another to add. This collaboration is big for us as much as it is for Acola and other international players. Giving them a moment to speak to the audience whether it be to celebrate their journey or give thanks to their fans can really help make them feel at place and valued by the NA community. Let it be a back and forth to really give the interviewee their moment to shine, rather than only answering questions that NA fans may want to hear.
Overall, I love Tweek Talks and these are just some things I think would improve the podcast for everyone.

I feel like letting the translator interpret their opinions on acola’s response could help create a healthy back and forth discussion. There were time constraints tbh but all in all it was great to hear how different Japanese top players view the game.

Great episode. Thanks to Tweek, Watch, Acola, and the rest of the gang. I hope this experience and how wonderful you guys made it encourages Acola to come back to compete more in the USA and internationally. One of the things I love most about the Smash community that you don't see in other gaming scenes is how much everyone internationally supports each other and continues a movement to legitimize Smash as an E-sport to Nintendo. Some of the best and must humble pros in all of gaming are in Smash, and it's all driven by their passion.
Paper Mario would actually be legit for DLC.
Also that guy is so good, holy shit.

Greninja is really solid, but I’d never think to place him as high as top 3, it’s a very interesting opinion! There’s lots of EU Greninjas, but it’s a shame the character has almost no reps in the US
I dont see why he couldn't be. Leo took off with Greninja for a little bit. Same with Zachray. It's just not a popular character.

The problem with diddy is that there will never be a diddy as consistent and clutch as Zero's diddy in smash4. There was no top player as consistent with Diddy as Zero was and the next best diddy was probably Zinoto/Aaron/etc... but Zero was just too far ahead of everyone in terms of consistency.
He has less kill power nowadays but maybe the japaense players are looking into that.
Smash 4 Diddy and Ultimate Diddy are two completely different characters. That's like saying: "Light's Fox in Ultimate will never be as consistent as Leffen's Fox in Melee".

I find it very backwards how "pro" ult players know nothing about the roaster unless its that one character they play. Like a uncooked chicken could tell you ryu is #1 shoto. If you took the time to actually learn the characters individually without second guessing yourselves every 30 seconds youd prolly be on a different level.
Now just off that alone i stopped watching this. But this is a strong reminder how unnecessarily bland and over the top this game is. Im glad yall get whatever minimum payments to just bullshit on a game with no skill level needed to be something.
