    Steve fans have to understand that it’s going to take time for the tech to find use. No one started double jump shining shields the day or even the week after mutlishines were found.

      I agree as a Steve main.

      Good Steve players don’t want to use it and bad Steve players can’t use it well. There’s a 100 dollar bounty out for the first person to use it in a Match and win. This has been out since the tech was found. Yea it should be banned but it’s not a good argument for banning Steve

    lol the Translator 100% did not tell Acola about non-Japan being soft. Acola 100% did not agree with that statement, he was just nodding and laughing because everyone else was. The translator basically said "They said that they love you and your play and want to see you doing your best" which is accurate to half of what they said and intentionally leaves out the "our players are soft" part.
    Acola also straight up says he thinks that PMLG is useful and usable in game, but that it's tough for him so he doesn't focus on getting use out of it. Apparently there's some sentiment in Japan that Steve players are sandbagging by not using the tech/not getting used to using it... and there's possibly some truth there... if they use it and it's gamebreakingly godlike, then they'll just get their character banned, after all.

      When you don't even use your characters full potential and still win summit because you're godlike and the character is also godlike.

      If they use it and it's gamebreakingly godlike, then only it should be banned - *not* the entire character.

      @@Alg3br4 It's not visible enough when it happens to consistently ban it.

      I find it kinda hard to imagine a tech allowing Steve to literally _cancel hitstun_ to not be "visible enough"

  • @jolt8337
    @jolt8337 Год назад +21

    My thoughts are that I genuinely haven't seen anyone use it effectively in practice. Sure we've seen on paper, theoretical stuff but genuinely how many confirmed high-level matches have been played with a Steve using this tech effectively? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but that is quite literally so hard to find.

    I personally think it's too soon to jump to conclusions. Steve is a dumb character, this in comparison to his other dumb shit, is kind of situational and hard to apply in my opinion. Now, does that mean it won't be used? No, people most certainly will get better at using it and figuring out situations to apply it, but banning the ENTIRE CHARACTER because it sounds broken is just dumb. Steve, in my opinion, is not neaely as meta defining as S4 Bayo and especially Brawl MK. If most brawl tournaments didn't even ban meta knight, why are we banning fucking steve?

    • @Alg3br4
      @Alg3br4 Год назад +3

      Apparently, Brawl MK wasn't universally banned because many MK mains refused to attend any tournaments which banned the character. With how popular and insanely dominant he was, it just ended up in regional differences.
      So basically, it was all bias - as it still likely is nowadays with Steve (who, in contrast to Brawl MK, has more loud big-name haters than loud big-name supporters).

    I personally don't get why Steve is being banned, but then again, I haven't faced a pro Steve player before, so I can't say anything. But it'd be nice if anyone could tell me how to counter Steve, I main Shulk/Corrin and secondary Cloud.

    • @SleepyFawn
      @SleepyFawn Год назад +5

      Try to bait him into wasting his iron with anvils and minecarts. If you can get him to waste resources, and then try not to let him get much iron back, his neutral becomes easier to counterplay.

    • @Pyronic_
      @Pyronic_ Год назад +3

      I’m a Steve main and swordies does do well against Steve ( especially cloud and seph) and you basically just want him to waste material. Baiting minecart and anvil is your best bet. Also look at rockman’s RUclips, he has a few counter play guides that I’d recommend watching, especially the sdi one

    • @babulbi

      You realistically can't counter him. At best you can engage with him more fairly if you use a character that can attack him through his blocks.
