I don't understand why everyone is hating on Jimbo. The fact that he found a way to lose this game with all the talent that he has been bringing in is downright impressive.

Jimbo and his players are all cashing checks for what they did at their previous programs. Not for what they have done at A&M.
Jimbo is known for running programs in the ground. He takes 5* kids and under develops them. Also, the media hyped up A&M this year when they should not have. A&M lost a lot after last season. They have to rely in a lot of freshmen players this season. You know as well as I do, freshmen players do not equal a playoff run. Can’t tell ESPN that. Maybe they see it now..

App State is a legit FBS school. Definitely shaping up to be a modern era Boise State type of program…
But I believe they were FCS when they played and beat Michigan.

No shame in losing to App State. They're absolutely legit. I grew up within an hour of App State and the Michigan upset put them on the map for everyone else but people forget they won 3 straight FCS national titles in that stretch too. They haven't lost a step since making the leap. It's really one of the best programs in the country for its size.
If you're ranked in the top 10 and have national title hopes, don't schedule App State. Bad things happen

App state is without a doubt one of the best G5 teams out there. I vacation once a year in Boone, NC and they have with out a doubt one of the most beautiful campuses and college towns in the country. Shame they’re not big enough to make it into the P5 because they sure do belong.

App State is legitimately a good program. They don’t have the same talent level as a Power 5 team but they’re well coached and they play hard. No excuse for the Aggies, but congrats to the Mountaineers.

Tbf, Chase Brice was recruited to Clemson. He transferred to Duke, and then App State. Matt Barrie made a pretty good point about the transfer portal becoming a real factor for some of these smaller schools being more competitive. They may not get the recruiting classes that LSU, UGA, Bama, and Ohio State get, but they are beginning to make out like bandits in the transfer game. Of course, App State’s always been a solid program of giant slayers. Now, it’s going to become a regular thing with the way they draw in their talent.
@@edlawn5481 I’ve always enjoyed a good SBC game. Most of those guys know they’re probably not making it to the next level, so they just go out and have fun playing the game. That’s always when something magical happens!

Texas A&M's last four recruiting classes were ranked No. 1, 7, 6 and 3. The Aggies just lost to App State who only had one recruiting class ranked inside the top-75 over the last four classes. 2021 was ranked No. 63.

Lmfao. Do they already not have everyone's respect. The only reason they get overlooked is because they're playing in a 'sleeper conference'. This will all change when the playoff expands next year, but App St has a long track record of pulling off big upsets. This doesn't surprise me one bit. Still a huge win.

I think the biggest thing that ended up unintentionally hurting A&M was that kickoff return TD. Yeah it tied the game, but it also took away any chance for the defense to rest and allowed App state another chance to run down time like they had been doing all game

As you will see in watching this game, the score is no indication of how badly Texas A&M got beat! They were out-prepared, out-played, and out-coached! That 75 million they're paying Jimbo has roughly equaled out to about 1 million per victory since Jimbo took over!

Remember they also paid App State 1.5 million to come play and lose which is the best part.

Only a fluke sequence against UNC kept Appy St from being 2-0 and ranked in the Top 20. This team looks every bit as good as the Boise St teams in the late 2000’s. Texas A & M won’t feel as bad about this loss later when App St checks in with 10 or 11 wins, a bowl win and a conference championship.

Used to go to App State. It has grown so much in the 3 years I lived there. The football culture is by far the best in NC and the views every gameday is unmatched. Also, as a U fan, it brings me great joy to see Jimbo lose like that. They get App State's leftovers next week, BTHOA&M

For those who follow the sunbelt conference knew this was a possibility. They have some tough outs in that conference with ULL, App state, G Southern, and Costal Carolina. Big win for APP state. Team has tremendous heart, very solid program!!

@@terrance4real1 App beat UNC and USC in 2019. And lost to Penn State and Tennessee in OT. And both teams were ranked top 15 at the time. Add in a 2 point loss to UNC this year and a 2 point loss to Miami last year. Even when they lose they’ve proven they can hang with most P5 schools.
When I was a kid App state came on my radar bc of the Michigan game. Crazy to see that they're a good program now in the Fun belt.

Not only did App State win they beat them in every phase of the game 97 yards passing and 89 rushing for a total of 186 total yards rushing is complete domination.

In 2007, App had the ball for 19 minutes focusing on big plays and speed, whereas this year we had the ball for 41 minutes and slowly wore down TAMU

App State is for real...been a well coached competitive team for a while now. They're Defensive Coordinator is none other than Dale Jones, former linebacker at Tennessee. The guy is kind of a folk hero in Knoxville....never seen a guy play with as much dedication and passion.
App St takes down #6 Aggies and Marshall takes down #8 Notre Dame big wins for both teams. Sun Belt bringing the heat.

Haven't watched college ball in years, but once I heard Jimbo was the coach the upset made perfect sense.
I lived in Boone ss a teen. I loved that place, my mom taught at the university. Good days. Good to see them doing well.
What a day it was for the Sun Belt Conference.....what's scary for App, is that they have to play Marshall, Ga. Southern and Georgia State, which gave UNC a good run for the money....it's a very good conference with sone fun games on the horizon. Great game plan by the Mountaineers.

This team over the years has amazed me, at what they can do! You could tell they truly played, with heart! They were coached very extremely well for this game! Amazing!

App State should have beaten Penn State a few years ago if they had better clock management. Iirc, they kicked the game winner way too early and gave enough time for PSU to drive down and send the game into OT where PSU won.
