Having tried 540hz TN briefly, I can say the PG27AQN is still the far superior all rounder. I'd suggest going with the 540hz TN if you have a second monitor that's one of the OLED 240hz perhaps, so that compliments each other.
What monitor are you using now? I've used the XL2566k since it came out, and play CSGO only on it at 1280x960 stretched. I'm concerned with what this resolution would look like on the PG27AQN 25in mode. I'm using the new LG 240hz OLED for other games besides CSGO and it's amazing.
I bought that because it was cheap on sale over here, almost half the cost of XL2566K which I still wouldn't buy because IPS supremacy. The only reason I'd ever consider it would be dual monitor with that just for FPS and an OLED 24O for everything else (like you mentioned), but for a single monitor definitely would not main a TN ever. Also, the PG27AQN is definitely the best one-and-done monitor on the market if you don't plan on running multiple.
@@its_yifang Woops I overlooked the fact that you said you're on the 25in model lol. I wonder if ULMB 2 will become available for that model as well, I had that when it was first released but had tons of issues so I returned it. I'd give it another shot if ULMB became available on it.
Before anyone jumps out and says "DYAC+ MOTION CLARITY!!!", I just want to say that yes Zowie DYAC+ is definitely the best motion blur reduction technology by a mile and it is significantly noticeable when in use. @@its_yifang I play TF2 and sometimes OW and melee games like Mordhau, I would have gone with the 360Hz but the thing is I plan to play fighting games too which are locked to 60 or 120 FPS at best which mean at least on paper the OLED will outperform the IPS panel in the same refresh rate. But I can't find anyone with such a niche use case to tell me whether or not the OLED performance at 60/120 FPS is worth the 120Hz loss in refresh rate when I need it. Almost no one plays competitive fighting games compared to the huge number of CS/VA/OW players.
@@KaledTVThe IPS outperforms the OLED here with ULMB2. Only the viewing experience is the place the oled wins, but that's also a huge aspect for some especially in single player games.
Yeah you can, but the resolution itself is also very strange and still doesn't look exactly like 1080p 25 Inch. Either way though, neither affected gameplay and the 1080 25in mode was perfectly fine to play on.
The problem isn't the box not coming out necessarily, it's that the monitor itself is in the middle of the polystyrene, but all the accessories including the stand and cable box is on the other side of the polystyrene pieces. If you were to put the monitor back into the box with the box upright, then the accessories start falling out of the box etc and there's just loose things everywhere too! 😡
The Samsung is curved so I would automatically stay away. It is a VA panel which sucks. 4K and 240Hz is the only redeeming feature of it, but it's definitely terrible compared to other options for competitive gameplay. If you're a casual gamer playing single player games or AAA titles that aren't competitive, then it's OK. However, you'll never truly take advantage of the 240Hz while running anything on 4K even with the best PC. In summary the PG27AQN is like the better option in all possible aspects, whether that be competitive or casual gaming. Otherwise get a high resolution OLED screen for casual gaming to experience good colouring etc but don't be focused on refresh rate because chances are you can't even get the frames.
I’ve been comfortable using an OLED C9 55” with 2080 ti NvLink. I do want to try a higher refresh than 1440p 120hz but the OLED is so good. It’s either this one or the OLED 240hz or wait for the next OLED.. hopefully from asus

@@kaankucuk1612 you want more competitive focus or more single player focus? Personally, I'd pick this 360 but of you don't care about competitive as much, then the OLED.
By the way, I went from 1440p IPS color calibrated to the Zowie XL2566K and I actually like the highly contrasted colors for competitive way better than the IPS washed out screen. And also, I saved almost $500 by going with the Zowie over the Asus. But that's subjective, I had an OLED LG before trying IPS, so to me IPS just looks bad. Also, remember the next Asus monitor for competitive is a 540hz TN panel as well. If you haven't tried the Zowie, I say they're onto something in that regard.
I've owned the previous XL2546K and also tried the XL2566K briefly. I don't know which 1440p IPS you have tried but I can't stress enough how good this one is. I'm surprised you think IPS is washed out when that is supposedly what TN is known for, but at least on my previous Alienware AW2521HF (IPS), I had really high colour contrast and never thought it was washed. All my experiences with TN however, is that the colours either end up too washed or the opposite, and there was no sweetspot. You definitely do save the money by going the Zowie route, but keep in mind these two aren't exactly aimed to be the same competition and you could've saved another $200-500 by going for 25in options from brands that aren't Zowie. I also did mention that the 540Hz being released is a TN panel which they probably have no choice at this point because other technology still isn't capable of pushing such refresh rates, but I'm keen to see if it's actually an upgrade! Praying for the day good 360Hz OLEDs come out, because at least from the reviews of people who have already received the LG 27in 1440 240Hz OLED, the results aren't as impressive as one would hope them to be... Honestly isn't much better than this monitor aside from a colour difference.
@its_yifang do agree that 360 OLED, with proper brightness which sadly the current LG 240hz does not have, would be endgame for me. Especially if it comes at 25" P.S. I tried other IPS 360 (Asus PG259QNR), but again, colors are very accurate, which is great for photo editing and stuff, but it just looks blah, IMO, for gaming. I prefer an unrealistic high contrast for better visibility and the Zowie XL2566K totally delivers in that front, it is completely diffrent in colors from the XL2546K. That panel is truly the epitome of TN panels in my opinion. I tried it and literally said, "Huh, 500 extra bucks not worth it for 1440p in comp games". I still kept my 1440p IPS, but for other types of games.
@@RafaelSilva-yv3oh I have the PG259QNR which is the monitor in the background I referred to multiple times throughout the video and the PG27AQN makes that look like a beta testing toy. I'm glad you're liking the XL2566K though! Whatever suits your needs is the best monitor for you.
@@its_yifang So true. I was going to get LG's 240 oled til I saw the reviews. The reason why most OLED tv's look amazing, compared to the new LG monitor is due to the coating they use. Unfortunately LG opted for the matte coating instead of a glossy coating which makes the monitor look very dark, almost like a filter is projected over the monitor screen. Though a company is releasing a glossy oled monitor, 240hz and 0.03 ms, their reputation is so bad (I can't emphasise it enough til you read complaints people have) that they had to rebrand, before known as "eve, but now "dough". From no refunds or shipping (up to months, years or not at all!) this company just isn't worth it. Even if you do get the monitor, burn in is a possibility (especially for FPS players where a crosshair is constantly on your screen) and trying to use your warranty would be a pain. Sucks that this is the only brand making the DREAM monitor, I think it's most likely a bait, because most of their other monitors which were on "Preorder" over a year ago, still haven't undergone production, and this new OLED they're making says it's in pre order and releasing on July. And some workers of the same company were found to be racist and got banned off the official monitor subreddit Realistically a 360 hz oled would beat any other 360 hz out there due to it's raw response time, with many other advantages (you know how good oled looks...). Asus will be releasing their new OLED soon but it has very similar specs to LG's one, and I believe they're using a matte coating aswell, but maybe it might be a lot better (hopefully). Looks like if we are patient, maybe we can see very nice improvements from these big companies in the future. Sorry for the rant or if you knew this information already but I really wanted myself a nice "do it all" monitor but unfortunately it's not the play right now.

@@KaledTV For overwatch, Val etc, the PG27AQN IPS here is the king without a doubt in my mind.
@@its_yifang don't you get annoyed by the lack of G-Sync and the tearing when using ULMB2 though?
According to the product page you should be able to do 25" at 2368x1332p which is almost 1440p and should look better than 1920x1080p
Yeah you can, but the resolution itself is also very strange and still doesn't look exactly like 1080p 25 Inch. Either way though, neither affected gameplay and the 1080 25in mode was perfectly fine to play on.
I can’t get the 25 inch mode to work. It says set the source to 1080p. I changed the my res to 1080p on windows settings and it still don’t work.
the trick with the unboxing is to open both sides so there's no vacuum holding it back, but you shouldn't really have to.
what do u think of this VS the Samsung neo g8 (4k 240hz 32inch)?
@@its_yifang yeh, im thinking to buy this and replace the Samsung neo g8 still, i do play both competitive games and singleplayer AAA games
@@z1nky_aqz_Lascar if you're more competitive focused, get this. If you're more causla focused than competitive, get the Asus 240Hz OLED.
@@its_yifang I ordered it! lets see if its good (ASUS PG27AQN)
I’ve been comfortable using an OLED C9 55” with 2080 ti NvLink. I do want to try a higher refresh than 1440p 120hz but the OLED is so good. It’s either this one or the OLED 240hz or wait for the next OLED.. hopefully from asus
If you already have an OLED to chill on, I'd say just get this (it's nuts) seeing as the 240hz OLED do far from LG wasn't as good as we'd imagine. Maybe ASUS can do better but we're not sure yet either
would this work with the RTX 3080 10gb with the Ryzen 9?
You'll have no issues.
I am watching your video from Japan. I am sorry if it is difficult to read because I am using a translation software.
I also purchased this monitor and am using it, but the 25" mode does not work properly in valorant.
It always goes to full screen.
I can play overwatch and csgo in 25" mode with no problem.
I am using a radeon 6950xt gpu, is it possible for an amd gpu to cause the problem?

@@its_yifang thank you, Sir
Especially if it comes at 25"
And some workers of the same company were found to be racist and got banned off the official monitor subreddit
Realistically a 360 hz oled would beat any other 360 hz out there due to it's raw response time, with many other advantages (you know how good oled looks...).
@@pricetag_jawger5197 Thanks for the write up I love discussing because I can learn more too.
