I agree-I absolutely HATE the gear shift on the screen. After 4-5 months of driving, it’s still an annoyance. I also dislike the fact that the AC vent controls are only on the screen now. Both are very distracting. (Also- the honk location is bad- I’ve accidentally honked several times). But all the other upgrades from the previous models are great.

Thanks for the video. I own a Model S and I agree with you. The absence of the gear stalk could cause an issue with changing directions quickly in situations like parking lots... Also lack of 360 view is a disappointment.

Check into the Rode Go 2 or the Saramonic 2 wireless gear. The one you have isn't doing you any favors, you may be good looking, but good sounding - mmm, not so much heh heh :)

Quick and great review of the timeless Model 6! Oh wait.. I meant X! 😉 The white paint with black wheels is a configuration made in heaven. I’d love another in-depth technical review focused on real world range, acceleration tests, app capabilities, and super charging!

You don’t need an in-depth review. It surpasses any expectation you can have for a car. It’s faster than you can imagine and that’s without putting it in “drag strip mode”. Changed my life lol
You can change gears on the center console.
You probably figured out that they have drive buttons on the center console too.

There are hidden gear buttons hiding beside the "yeld" button. I think you hold it to get them to show

This is a great review, but please fix the audio next time! It was pretty hard to watch this video with the audio being so muffled.

Model X owners report concerns with road noise at high speeds even with the refresh model.. do you have any thoughts on that?
You are correct, the blinkers become very easy to use in time. I was cussing at first. The real weakness is the phone charger. Doesn’t do much.

I hope he knows there ARE secondary controls for shifting gear positions.
Not super easy to operate but there in the forward part of the center console (just under the phone chargers).
I’m aware, but it’s definitely not any more ergonomic than the touch screen
@@FaizAly Agreed...you have to press hard to "wake them up." Not easy...

They’re decent, but mostly there for emergencies in case screen stops working.
Does Tesla software update slows down the processor and interface. Like in iphone, 3 year old phone cant keep up with new updates.
Not at all. If anything the updates make the software feel faster and more intuitive

There are THREE, not one, but THREE ways to change your gear. Automatic, on-screen, and next to the emergency indicator lights.
I do agree that there should be physical "levers" on the steering wheel. It just feels better.

We just picked up our 2022 Model X Long Range, 6 seater, self drive! The Tesla dealer explained the car no longer comes with a key fab! That is an extra you have to order on line! The Tesla rep spent about 20+/- minutes with us. We were disappointed in not getting the key fab and the amount of instructions we receied!
I was quite disappointed to hear about that as well!
You have the card and your phone. The intro is fast but you pick it up fast and their service is great in app. Congrats, I have a Plaid 6 seater and it’s the best car in the world imo.
I thought the S & X continued to be delivered with key fobs? Damn, it seemed most convenient for remotely opening/closing doors 😕

You can lay the 3rd row seats completely flat. However you cannot remove the middle row seats

This car is more like a taller sedan than an SUV. Sick falconwing doors, but no roof rack ability is a massive downer.
I have the 22' S. I got completely used to the turn signals and gear shift in less than a day...
I agree with you! The turn signals and touch screen gear shift grows on you. Drove an Audi the other day and was confused in that car now haha

You pretty much hit all the spots on the negatives. I just purchased my first Tesla and it’s a 2022 model X plaid. I was pretty surprised that it didn’t have the 360 surround view cameras or Apple CarPlay and I absolutely hate the steering wheel without the top part, the buttoned turn signals and the absence of a gear stalk. These once quick features we are used to make the car a little cumbersome. Also the small rear view mirror is almost useless, they should have made that a camera like in the new Cadillac’s. All that aside I do love everything else, especially how fast the 5000lb SUV is, faster than my 2022 Audi R8 which is pretty impressive and I do also love all the high tech features on the car, it really feels like a smart car. Overall it’s not the perfect SUV but it could be if they fixed all the negatives listed.
I got my Learners Permit last August, and would love to get a Tesla model X.
The gear shifting is a really silly design decision and personally not a fan of the steering wheel either.

I dislike many, many, many things about the second generation Model X including the insane retail price. I prefer the first generation 2016- 2021.
Do not purchase this car unless you are willing to spend tons of repair fees. TESLA'S BUILD QUALITY DOES NOT LAST UP TO 4 YEARS. I've owned one for 4 years and a bit, and after their short 4 year warranty period, everything starts breaking down. I've had to replace the battery that starts the car up (not the actual batteries the car runs on), the keys because it just randomly stopped working and lastly had to replace what they call a Central Body Controller. This controller is responsible for detecting the Tesla keys which stopped working right after I just got my keys replaced. They said the transmitter within it had broken down which means the build quality on these dont even last for 4 years. All these were placed within one year right after the warranty and cost up to $5k which includes your time taking it to get fixed..
Only drawback is it should have been 400 - 500 range at least plaid versions.. isn't ?? If you do long drive with family and kids on highway you have that stress of running out of battery. If its 400+ at least up to 300 miles you can drive confidently. For the price tag it should at least 400 if that happens entire minivan industry will be in tesla's hand... Lucid did it with sedan itself.. so why cant tesla.
