How to draw a horse eye in pastels | Step by step tutorial | Tips

In this step by step tutorial I'll show how to draw horse eyes in pastels. When drawing horse eyes it's important to pay close attention to the main structures around the eye. This can effect how realistic the eye looks so this is where I start. A good foundation makes it easier to draw the eyes as we continue to build layers. Regardless of the size of the portrait the way I demonstrate here to draw horse eyes would be the same but when working larger we have lots more space to add finer details. So that would just result in us using the same processes and techniques shown in this pastel tutorial but with the luxury of being able to continue to add more and more layers to refine the details and add more depth and shape. I hope this horse eye tutorial helps to add more expression to your horse pet portraits.
