Can you get the same effect using fabriano artistico watercolor paper instead of pastelmat with the same pencils?

I can never get the black polychromos to be as dark as yours for some reason?

I do tend to use other colours under as well - dark blues and reds to give a really rich black. But also sharp once you've got a few layers down and a little harder pressure :)

Bonny Snowdon Fine Art yes, I thought it was the paper I was using at first, but I think I just need to learn how to sharpen these pencils properly lol

Great tutorial, thank you!! Unfortunately I’m not close enough in the uk to attend one of your workshops but I was wondering if you’d considered a patreon channel?

Could this technique be used on other supports like drafting film, watercolour paper etc?

Yes, however you don't get the same light over dark as you do on patelmat :)
