    I have the OTC crimpers. I've had them since 2021, I think bought on a you tube recommendation.
    Honestly, though, I find the design awkward in use. I keep going back to a set of Kleins 1010s that I find more intuitive. Specifically because the cutters and strippers are in the same place. One motion. Faster.
    Yeah they are more bulky, but for me they just are more natural to use.: and USA made.

    I picked up a set of the snap on strippers before prices started going up on eBay a few years ago. Love them for the size and versatility. HF is supposed to bringing a set like them out and I intend to get a pair to compare to the snappy ones before gifting the HF pair to a buddy.

    Teeth on Knipex pliers are second to none and that is most apparent on the Twin Grips IMHO. I don't know anyone who has A wire stripper.

      A copy of the Koken design too.Koken came out with that design first.There was a patent on it and Snap On copied it after the patent ran out

    How small is the head on that GW vs. the 1/4” Tekton?

  • @STREETFIGHTER50

    No 10% off for us Cali folks 😢 Still a good price for that ratchet IMO $31.80
    Carlyle stripper is $33.49.
    $99.11 for the Knipex Pliers.
    Cali just expensive for anything.

    I love that little GW ratchet. Too bad I already have seven 1/4" ratchets in my drawer. Lol
    And I can second having both types of crimpers. I did a ton of 12V wiring when I was a marine mechanic. And it seems EVERY area in a boat is tight quarters.
    Some times you ned to crimp in a tight area (above the pivot crimpers) and sometimes you need to strip in a tight area (above the pivot strippers).
    I always kept both types right by my side at all times. Great vid, Tony!!

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 месяца назад +1

      Haha I feel you about the ratchets 🤣👍
      And ya I completely 100% agree about having the different types of crimpers!!

    Never, EVER buy anything from Vector tools. They are by a huge margin, some of the worst tools I've ever laid hands on. I used to have the OTCs but have since moved to the Snap Ons (Yes, they're actually noticeably nicer). I was almost about to pull the trigger on the 1/4" 120XP, but then I remembered how much I hate GW and how chrome handles hurt my hands XD.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 месяца назад

      Haha ya huge difference from the snap on to the cheaper ones. Not just the material but the overall design is much better. Ya I don't think I have ever bought from vector but definitely the same as my neiko set. It's definitely worth going with the Carlyle or snap on if you like that design 👍 I believe they have a comfort grip version of the ratchet but I'm sure it's a little bit more
