  • This video follows the excavation and archaeological recording of an intact ancient wooden bowl discovered during the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge Road Project. The bowl was found at the bottom of a peat-filled well in Tullen, Co. Roscommon. Wooden bowls of this type are not numerous in Ireland or Britain as the conditions required for preservation over the many centuries are unusual. Thus, the Bowl found at Tullen is an impressive discovery. The site director was Lydia Cagney.
