    Companies owning a gimmick or character is bullshit anyway, especially when the wrestler themselves had it before they came to the company, or they came up with it themselves. What other wrestler is going to portray Broken blank blank? I mean last time they got someone else to play a gimmick, it didn't work out too well. (Fake Diesel and Fake Razor Ramon.) The Dudleys lost their goddamn name they had before WWE, but had to sell their own damn name to them.

    So obviously old subject but the general topic is timeless
    Couple of thoughts
    Starting with a good idea to always consider:
    Just because you Can, doesn’t mean you should. If just because you can is your only argument, then it’s a good bet you probably shouldn’t
    Another good rule to live by:
    Just because it hurts your competition, doesn’t mean it helps you. In the long run all you are doing is hurting the employees, employees you might want later on. And it is also making all your other current and future employees wonder if they can trust you.

    the thing is,everyone else does this WCW, eventually,but the thing is WWF/WWE always did this and people always had to change or resist letting WWF copyright their names,or they were changed going to WWF,so,if they have these rights why would it be different elsewhere? and if matt came up with it,it was developed there, WWF uses these legalities, there wasn't this when Vince is pissed cuz Hall sounds Latin or says Chico, and sues WCW,even though they dress normal and use their real names,impact has these legal rights as well...

    Funny fact: Jim cornette hate the gimmick that matt hardy created at that time. Because of drone fights and teletransportation.

    usually companies have intellectual rights in contracts for anything created by an employee is then owned by the company even for standard jobs

    • @EL_Aura
      @EL_Aura 7 лет назад +4

      Except matt has creative rights in his contract, he and jeff both has GOOD contracts with TNA/Impact so he would have the rights to the "gimmick"
      It's like Diamond Dallas Page, his real name is "Page Joseph Falkinburg"
      but when he went to WWF/WWE he still used and was called by the name "Diamond Dallas Page"
      The only reason TNA/Impact are doing this is because they are mad they couldn't agree on a good follow-up contract with the Hardys and now they are adventuring into other "territories".
      Seriously everyone knows it was Matts idea.

      Ya i work for target and i had to sign paper saying if i invent anything even up to a year after my employment ends that they have rights to it!

    • @FLITT
      @FLITT 4 года назад

      Thats is true of standard jobs, but in creative roles the contracts are different, even from person to person. I worked as a recording studio technician for a few years and my contract essentially said any ideas I contributed to others work was not my intellectual property but anything I created for myself outside of working hours is mine. All depends on the individual contract

  • @ericgilbert56
    @ericgilbert56 4 года назад

    "Intellectual Properties... Blah blah blah!"
    Damn straight that's the truth!!!
    Let the wrestlers keep their creations!!!
    Let them keep their identity!
    For god sakes some of these ass holes will take their dignity let them keep something so they can at least make a fucking living!!

    Impact is such a joke. This is just them throwing a tantrum because they lost a couple of their biggest stars at that time for not treating them right. As far as the demand to boycott Impact Wrestling, I think most fans are way ahead of you on that because I don't know anyone who really watches that bullshit anyway!!! There was a time, long ago, that I truly enjoyed TNA. For a little while, I thought it was better than WWE & would get all its PPV events. Then it just became crap & any ex-WWE B-lister could just come in and take over. I can't remember the last time I watched anything longer than a RUclips clip for Impact & that is not often.

      That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it..it’s really a love it or hate it gimmick. I enjoy it, you don’t. Either way fuck Impact , they’re a garbage promotion no one cares about. They are desperately clinging to the one decent , over gimmick they’ve had . But it’s only over because the Hardy’s did it. No one else is going to be able to use it, and Matt created it so again, fuck Impact.

      Please, Impact didn't do shit....Matt Hardy created all of this himself. He reinvented himself....again...it was the only reason people were watching that shit promotion. And as usual, people that can't create, shit on everything.
