  • 🤔Are you curious how we build and setup our Professional Microgreen grow racks in our grow-space? Well, in this video we share our step by step tutorial on how we assemble the shelves, add all the essentials, and deal with cable management so you can have a clean looking setup to grow microgreens for your business or family & friends, while also making it that's Instagram worthy!
    There has been 1,000s of Microgreen Farmers who have now utilized this exact grow shelf setup in their own Microgreen farm - one great thing about this build too is that it is fully customizable, so you can start with a cheaper rack build then upgrade to more shelves/better lights as you grow and expand your clients!
    Hope Y'all Enjoyed!! 🤓👩‍🌾
    **The fans we use in this video are NOT our brand that we sell on our website, however, they are similar. The fans on our website do not daisy chain together, however you can use a extension cord with USB ports to run multiple fans at the same time. If you need fans that daisy chain, here is the link to them - onthegrow.tv/A... **

    Well thought out. I have had my personal micro green grow room set up in an unfinished basement but will be moving to my heated greenhouse this summer when the basement is finished. I also use hydroponics because we are retired and travel. Hand watering is labor intensive and does not give us the freedom to enjoy life.

    Here's a tip on the mounting of the fans that doesn't require removal of the rubber grommet sound/vibration thingys! Those grommet things can be pulled through the wiggle wire at the ends of the shelves. It takes a little finnageling but you can get them to squeeze through. This allows you to add and remove them anytime without any modification to the fan. The fan hangs in a diamond fashion so it finds vertical automatically with gravity whereby keeping the blades of the fan pushing air horizontally.

    I have spent hundreds, maybe thousands of hours, reading comments on RUclips videos. Yes, I am that bored and retired. I appreciate the Mr. Rogers level of detail you go into, so that I don't have to read those type questions in the comments! I cut away the silly opaque plastic tube on two sets of lights I use on my racks, it just seemed logical that it couldn't be adding light! The downside was it lessened the ability of the led strip to remain rigidly horizontal so it needed an electrical wire tie to support it in the middle. I haven't had the time to "test" the difference, but again, logic has it that they weren't adding any beneficial light to the equation.

    You guys are the best. The absolute best by far as explaining all the details, not just with this shelving video, but all of your videos. The detail and explanations are fantastic for someone like me that is just starting with microgreens. Thanks to both of you for your time and sharing your knowledge. Hoping your channel will continue to grow!!!!

      It will definitely work out for you. I ordered this exact set up through their Amazon store about two months ago, and set it all up myself by just by pausing their videos so I could see the set up. I wish I had this video back then, because it was a PITA to figure it all out myself. That said, once finished, my set up is working like a charm. I've since grown poundage of microgreens for our household and am struggling to give away the rest to family and friends. Their system is simple, cost effective, and scalable.

    I just ordered a set-up from your Amazon storefront as I just had a disaster. Had been using my dad's sprouting shelves (2) with lights that tilt. 4 days into sunflower micros, I went to check on another crop germinating and the shelf tilted, all 3 trays came tumbling down into a wet mess on the floor. Was able to save two trays but lost the sunflowers. I won't trust my current setup again . Unfortunately the wire rack is out of stock so hopefully that'll be back in soon. Thanks for this video. Should have done this from the start.

I am buying a growing rack that has a clear cover to put on my front porch!

    If you are going to do this for a living eventually you will have to go to bigger trays and racks. I wish I had known this two years ago when I started buying them for storage and whatever.
    We put our pots and pans and water etc on them and an inch can make a big difference. Those racks appear to be better than the Chinese racks I bought from Sam's Club.
    I believe with that system and our social not-that-security checks we could live our retirement years on da beach.
    Thanks for putting it all together for us.

      Do you know what the weight limit is with the wheels on?

    • @BusterABrown
      @BusterABrown 4 года назад

      I wish my mom had known this about twenty years before I was born and we lived full time at our summer house in the country, not that East St Louis wasn't a great place to grow up. But we all would have been a lot healthier.
      I watched a lady growing sprouts who was doing almost everything wrong, but she had been doing it for 35 years and looked great. There's so much nutrition that you don't have to be perfect.

      Thanks for the continued support Buster!! These shelves work really great and we will also be trying out the 18" deep shelves since they are 1/2 the cost really... We'll see what we can figure out to make this even cheaper!

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 года назад +1

      With the wheels, it is supposedly only 500lbs. That is still plenty for most people I would think... Unless you're growing some moster microgreens :)

  • @chrisfederspiel9638

    I like to put a shelf on the absolute bottom notch instead of storing stuff on the ground for bottom storage. Makes cleaning under everything easier, cause even the storage items are off of the floor and on wheels.

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 года назад +1

    Your fan wiring would be a lot neater if you put them on upside down. That way, the wire exits the fan next to where it’s attached.

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 года назад +2

      Great suggestion! You are correct on that, but I can't remember why we've chosen not to mount them upside down... I think there was a reason, but can't seem to remember. Thanks for sharing!
