    It’s been so many years I’ve used a relaxer that I don’t even remember how straight I liked it I just remember working the product in especially at my edges front and back

    Curious how long it takes you to apply relaxer before it sits the 10 minutes. TY!!

    I self relaxed last weekend and the front/top area of my head is under processed (because I put product on the area in the morning then relaxed in the evening. I believe the hair moisturizer reduced the effects of the relaxer.)
    So my question is how long should I wait before I try correct it? I have strong mixed hair so I wonder if its ok to try relax that section again a week after or should I wait longer?
    *I use Motions (Regular) relaxer as well

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  22 дня назад

      I would wait longer closer to 2 months. I waited a month to do my corrective relaxer and it broke off all of my edges so if it were me I would wait even longer than that like 2-3 months unfortunately or go see a professional

    Hi Niara, I've been natural for the past 8 years and I'm about to get my hair relaxed 😁 I'm a bit anxious and excited and just wanna do as much correct. I've watched most of your videos and I think you've mentioned a few times that you wear hair in protective styles during summer and have your hair open during the winter season. Would like to know why is that and if you would recommend to someone else to try it?

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  Месяц назад +1

      Hi! I do that because my hair doesn’t do well in the summer with the additional heat from the sun. I also don’t want to fight the heat & humidity trying to keep my hair straight. It’s just easier for me & I also think it’s important to give the hair a break for a period of time. All that heat, relaxer, styling can do a lot to your hair so it’s a break for mine

  • @sl9344

    Wouldn't the front have less time with the relaxer on it is you always start at the back? If you needed to correct maybe start at the front quarters first?

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  6 месяцев назад +2

      I start in the back because my hair there takes longer to process. My edges & front of my hair don’t take as long to process

    I am texlaxed and for some reason I have tufts of "natural" hair randomly in the middle where the rest (roots and ends) is somewhat straight. Can I correct that or just start over 🤣

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  6 месяцев назад +1

      That’s the tricky part I was talking about. You probably didn’t process in those areas enough. Honestly I would leave it or go to a professional to see if they can help. I would be prepared thought for breakage because you now have 2 points of demarcation vs 1

    Hello, your hair always looks wonderful! Sorry if I missed this part, but do you still relax every 6 months?

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  6 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! I’ve never relaxed my hair every 6 months. I wear braids & twists all summer. I relax once at the start of fall and again at the start of the new year

    Thanks for the video! Thanks a lot! and I say want to say this with love because you work so hard and it is much appreciated but I feel this video goes way way too fast and you are stressed out, not the best vibe, you dont seem excited at all about you getting a new relaxer, I assume you are trying to film as much as you can and get as many videos as you can from one session but like I said, I dont see any passion like I used to see in your past videos.
    It is just an opinion, not trying to bring you down, we all have better days than others.
    Thanks again, hair came out beautifully

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  6 месяцев назад +11

      No I don’t. I don’t relax my hair to be bone straight I like a little bit of texture left. I just needed the textures to match which they were before I corrected
