Sometimes unless it’s really bad you don’t notice it. It’s a gradual change. I was low key shocked when I saw my bad side too, crying to my boyfriend and all. And I saw the comments too 😅 people are so rude in the comment section.

My second and third pregnancy really thinned my edges. They came back but were never the same. I’m going to give this a try.

People can be very rude! Could you possibly try relaxing your edges last? It’s been a while since I was relaxed but that was my stylist’s approach at that time. She mentioned that edge hair can be finer, more fragile and usually process pretty quickly for many people. Maybe that would help, idk? Enjoy all your content btw!!

Yep I do mine last and wait 3 mins before washing out my hair. My edges aren't perfectly smooth, but at least they are still there 😅

Needed this! Lost a patch of hair on the right side of my edges due to back to back braids.

Good morning, sometimes we don’t see what everyone else sees & that’s ok, but I was shocked when you mentioned a corrective relaxer because I had never heard of it. I’ve had relaxer twice before that didn’t take, but I just made it work until it was time to do it again. We live & learn. I’m glad everything is working out for your hair now. I’m the same way about my hair. I love my hair! 😊 have a great week. 👋

    What is a corrective relaxer???

You should take a break from braids with extension..

The braids are actually helping! From the before and after I only wore braids so that wasn’t the issue

Young lady once again... you're not heeding sound advice. Relaxed hair needs to breathe. Braids are a barrier from the hair receiving oxygen and causes tension irregardless of how loose you may believe your braids. are on youredges.
Ps- I hope that was nice enough for you to receive. Sincerely a RUclips Auntie

Yes, braids will definitely give sectional breakage and thinning, especially on relaxed hair. It's just that the more hair you have the less noticeable it is. Niara is so careful with her hair so the damage was minimal.

As someone who has done both, I will say my hair grows like weeds on its own when it's natural vs. When I was relaxed( I used to go to a Dominican shop). My hair wouldn't grow past shoulder length. Also, my hair is much thicker now than it was then. Transitioning is rough but as the relaxer grows out trim it off little by little until its completely gone. I wore my hair in protective styles so no one knew what state my real hair was in. I just took care of it in between take downs. Took about 2 years to let it grow in fully.

Corrective relaxers damage the hair so bad 😭

Yep, I never do corrective relaxers, it's too risky. I just live with it until my next relaxer day

Okay.. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I also think that your middle part is thinning as well. I’ve watched your content for some time now and noticed that you wear a middle part often and I think that area is beginning to thin as well.
