Yall keep talking about too many stick tricks. Its RUclips you came here to WATCH him play. He puts on a show and he plays the music solid. The tricks are to keep you interested amd make it fun to watch. He succeeds at doing that.

Being very quick and perfecting your stick tricks will help you in playing the fills at their iChat time .
Kinda late on replying to this, but stick tricks actually help with timing. He probably does them out of habit so his timing is on. I do that my self without even noticing

I mean no offence to Luke, he's an amazing drummer! But it always annoys me how a lot of people only give a fuck about stick tricks. You know they be like 0:50 OMG OMG OMG, while it's actually a very basic pattern and not played very tight either...
and I bet you can do better and have this many fans and tour with a band from your RUclips videos?!?! do that first then you're allowed to say something. *know your place

I'm not saying I can do better, my point i tried to make with my comment, was that he should have only done cool stick tricks if he still plays tight. And that's mostly the case, but sometimes he fucks up a little bit. I know my place.

I am a big fan of Luke so I know he is incredibly solid, he's been a big example to me for a couple of years now. I'm not saying I'm a better drummer at all because that's stupid, but if you look at my videos you might be able to tell why I criticize good drumcovers like this.

It'd be a million times better without the stick tricks AND he could spend that time and effort on making his timing better or putting his own fills.. Plus it's distracting..

Love the toms, man! They've got a great tonal punch to them. I hate it when a lot of metal drummers don't really tune their toms right and then don't even bother to mix them right on the song so they end up just sounding flat. Nice job, dude! :)

@ThyHoneyNut From memory, they come with Remo clear 1 ply for toms and I can't really remember for the rest. But I was planning to put Evans G2 coated on all toms Remo Black Suede on the snare and Evans Emad for bass
