What a wonderful video. I grew up watching cooking shows and now Food Network is more concerned with loud obnoxious personalities. THIS is what i want to see. Someone just cooking, enjoying food and sharing wonderful memories. Thanks this was very nice to watch. “Ps: growing up my mom used to make this very similar but with pineapples and raisins and always topped it with a spoon of CoolWhip… instantly brings me back to my childhood”

I agree with you when you talk about getting off the bus and going home and knowing you're going to have something really good and homemade that your mom made my mom used to make if I asked her bread pudding and tomato pudding I don't know if you ever heard of that it was so good it was like such a joy and I tried to create some memories of good meals and good desserts lately for my family you know cuz it's nothing like looking back on your family and thinking about all the happy memories then celebrating holidays but this home healthy meals your mom your grandmom your aunties made is nothing like it in the world is nothing like Mama it is nothing like your aunties and Grandma and it's the best so I'm going to try and make this recipe I never made rice pudding before but this is going to be a hopefully a thrill and I'm going to copy you to close as I can thank you

You don’t use whole vanilla instead of vanilla flavor.? It will make things taste soo much better by using whole ingredients versus flavors.

    • @clayspivey4479

I think she was showing an honest "real" recipe. When she learned to make it, the higher level of ingredients were not available. I grew up in SC and never had a meal that had spices added other than salt, pepper and vanilla flavoring.....some of the best cakes, pies etc using the flavoring.... and just like she said the rice we used was left over from Sunday lunch where we had with brown gravy....flour, water, fried chicken drippings, salt and pepper!
