Antichamber (originally known as Hazard: The Journey of Life)[2] is a single-player first-person puzzle-platform video game developed by Alexander Bruce. Many of the puzzles are based on phenomena that occur within the Non-Euclidean geometry created by the game engine, such as passages that lead the player to different locations depending on which way they face, and structures that seem otherwise impossible within normal three-dimensional space. At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

For those who stumble across these videos, a speed run is a video of a person or persons, completing a game as fast as possible using any means possible. This can include glitches, abusing in-game mechanics and skipping items or even playing events out of sequence.

Sadly, if you watch the speedrun, the game has been spoiled for you. Learning the mechanics of the guns is a huge part of the experience of this game.
Indeed. When I first learned about cube multiplication by accident, I was like: wait, WHAT, I can do that?!?

You are a Jesus.
Vladimír Vozár A Jesus?
If you've never played this game DON'T WATCH THE VIDEO. This is an amazing game that you have to see for yourself. This speedrun spoils almost everything.
No, really?! A speedrun contains spoilers? Now you're joking... -_-
Langben121 it's not the normal kind of spoilers where they spoil the plot or something, the thing about antichamber is that you don't know what's going to happen or how the game will mess with you next, if you watch this it'll basically tell you exactly what's going to happen and such...
***** you're correct. I never played it, and I have no idea of what just happened.
i hate it when people like you say something like that.... there goes my money on another game .-. stop making me play good games youtube :'( i like saving money
Not Anonymous The problem with watching an Antichamber speedrun prior to actually playing it yourself is that you'll remember stuff like the leap frog room, where, once you find it in your first playthrough, then you'll remember the solution from the speedrun instead of trying to figure it out yourself. So it does have spoilers, but a different type of spoilers from most other games.
How the fuck do you speedrun a mindfuck ?
Watched it two times. Still have no fucking glue wtf was going on.
*no fucking glue*
Somebody give him glue please
AlternateEdit
haha, Just realized I said 'glue', oh well, gonna keep it. xD
Rfsancho I am rubber, you are glue
goddamnit, i did the game without the red gun.
If you know this game before you watch the run (like me), this is like
if you were on a high speed train while poking your head out of the
window. the whole game just flies by.
+Hornswroggle I was screaming like an asshole because I couldn't believe how fast he's doing all of this.
You can hold more than one cube. No wonder I couldn't beat this game
This just in, I still can't beat the game (I'm not looking at a walkthrough)
So, the tip is to get the guns and then win.
@@KinneKitsune yeah, yellow gun impossible
The art design is amazing, and it really makes you feel like you are playing in an MC Escher painting
I have no idea of what I just watched, but I found it fun to watch and I'll probably give it a try
David Méus We have guides here if you want to get into speedrunning Antichamber: www.speedrun.com/Antichamber/guides
I love speedruns but this fucked with my head
This looks like the kind of game where you'd play better if you were on acid.
+thesuicidefox This is the kind of game, if you were on acid, you walk into one room and stare for 3 hours straight.
I can do this in 9 minutes, but I go back to the map.
Did you listen? It's specifically a "no esc" route, meaning he can't go back to the map. v________v
If you're running Antichamber, then you should see about getting on our leaderboards: bombch.us/QW2
Scott J. Fox I know. That's why I specified that I did.
Seems like they all would like to be the guy who knows the most.
I know the Testrunner guy from Zelda: Skyward Sword runs, he did one with TLOZSR and that is most certainly his personality.
I've played this and it took me 7 hours. This is amazing.
lizardizzle it took me 1 year and 2 months, and i didn´t even finished ;(
It takes longer to explain even the basic concepts of this game then it takes to beat it.
Um... What did I just watch?
plis speed run dark souls 2 :D
They need time to complete the game before they can break it ;)
you probably dont want to play antichanmber if your photosensitive epileptic
I ran this game back when it was still new a year or two back, I was able to do six minutes with the escape key, Also, it was lagless, since apparently that's a thing. Maybe I should get back to it and give it a shot.
Its a good run but I been speedrun ing this game for 3 days and can do it in under 10 mins
Mystic Ace He was running "no esc" which means he isn't allowed to hit Esc to go back to the map, though he was very slow at it. The "no esc" record is 3:34.
Wow, I didn't think it was possible to beat the game so quickly. O_O Great job!
I showed this game to my non-gamer brother and within the first minute he had stumbled his way through the black hallway, looked through the window, and gotten the green gun. Just by blind chance. It was hilarious.
I'm Confused, what did i just watch? its blocks and strange colors? Minecraft on acid i guess. answered my own question.
this speedrun was pretty slow... isn't the WR like 3 minutes?
WR uses out-of-bounds to finish the game quicker.
Toyoka There is no OOB in Antichamber runs except to obtain the final sign in the 120 signs speedrun (it is stuck oob until after the 1:30:00 timer runs out). Yes the run in this video is very slow and the record for this category (no esc) is 3:34.
alter ... ich brauche stunden
wtf did i just watch
Yes
AJ Pynnonen who?
never seen this game but it was super impressive watching the speedrun. Lots of coordination and focus. And another notch to the famous quote "good games don't need good graphics"
Never played this game and I still don't understand anything about this game but this looks awsome I shall buy
holy shit. I remember that it took me a week of thinking and puzzle solving to finish this game...
lol even the audience in the back are clapping awkwardly cuz they dont know whats going on
the people were so bad at explaining the stuff with commentary xD
I have 2 hours into this game. No fucking clue whats going on ever
How do I get to know these people and why did they disappear from the face of the internet
I love speedruns but this fucked with my head
I am one who has not completed the game in less than 5-6 hours?
OH SHIT! Didn't saw this on schedule when streaming. Great Run.
“I hate Valve puzzles” - Duke Nukem
This game is so good, along with Kairo. So good.
i played this for an hour or two and didn't get as far as he did in 2 minutes. I'm amazed with the routing in this speed run
yo yoderson The route he used wasn't very good - there is a much better route for the category he was running (the record time is 3:34).
ruclips.net/video/vMKaytz2wWQ/видео.html
get rekt son.
Never saw this game before but i like
most annoying commentators in all of the AGDQ and SGDQ videos ive watched. Please dont have them commentate again..
I know why you guys went for the all guns run but honestly... the any% would've fit in the time without any problem (less than 3 minutes are no problem) and the 120 or 119 signs run would be a bit cooler I think... (and there is a glitch to get the "live on your own watch" sign any time)
Anyway still a nice run :)
If you didn't hear, 120 signs is possible now. There's a glitch to clip out of bounds in the hub and doing so gives you sign 120 (why? I don't know, I guess because the timer sign is hidden out of bounds and you can look at it)
Yea that's what I meant with the "live on your own watch" sign. It's the one you get after the timer run up. The main difference between the 120 and 119 signs run is the route. It differs a bit but some people still run the 119 signs route which is a little different from the 120 (well the sign does not make the difference but there were a few other iterations) but a little slower (a bit less than one minute if I recall correctly). I just meant that this would've been a bit cooler (and the any% anyway. Just because and because it doesn't really cost time :)
Elanduli Literally *no one* still runs 119 signs, it has been a dead category for many months now. Seriously, it's such a dead category that it isn't even listed on the Antichamber speedrunning leaderboards (bombch.us/QW2). 119 would use the exact same route as 120; the timer sign was appended to the end of the route when we originally figured out the glitch to be able to obtain the timer sign early.
The rest of us Antichamber runners wanted the 120 run to be in the marathon, but Marche didn't know the route (he doesn't even have any of his times posted on our leaderboards). The category run here is mislabeled, it is actually called "Any% No Esc Lagless"
Also, the main problem with running Any% in a GDQ marathon is that SDA doesn't accept the alt-tab method for lag that we use now, and if you fail getting cubes into The Chase then you've wasted half the run time.
Patashu All the signs have a loading zone around them, the timer sign's loading zone is located just behind that wall prior to the timer running out.
I was about to suggest this. Nice
TFW nerd cubed beat it faster
Oh shit, Ubergoose on the couch! I guess he ran OctoDad that year
It think he had just finished the borderlands 2 co op speedrun
The actual run starts at 6:30
Look at the WR now.
Yes, this game!
This is awesome
:D
neat
Agreed, this game is amazing
You can do it in 3 inutes
Anoniempje Yes, you can even do it in 2 minutes, but the category he ran wasn't the regular "any%" - it was "no esc" meaning he isn't allowed to hit esc to go back to the map. However he used a really slow route for it, the no esc record is 3:34.
I love that NerdCubed did it faster. That makes me happy. 47 second difference, btw.
nerd cubed done it faster
oo i didnt know he couldnt press esc
Djordje Mirkovic Yeah, although he did take a very slow route in this speedrun - the record time is 3:34 with a much better route. You can't compare it to NerdCubed because he was able to use the esc button - if you want to compare his time to the real speedruns, here are the leaderboards: www.speedrun.com/Antichamber
Wait does this mean NerdCubed beat them 8:12? O_o
PerfectGaming No, the category Marche was running is "no esc" meaning he isn't allowed to hit Esc to go back to the map. NerdCubed used Esc, meaning he would have to be compared to the regular "any%" times, which can be seen here: www.speedrun.com/Antichamber
However, the "no esc" record is 3:34, so Marche was quite a bit slow.
Nerd³ did this in a shorter time
But this was a no escape run while Dan was aloud too, I'm sure his time would be much shorter otherwise
I'm not great at this game, but my lagless time is
nerds :PPP
Pallidus completed antichamber in 2:04
I beat the game with the green gun. git gud
There is a faster way
The first time I played this game was a blind playthrough and somehow I got 100% in 3 hours. Supposedly it has an estimated 10 playtime (just to beat the game, not 100%) for people used to shooters and other FPS games, but I wasn't really a gamer so I figured everything out faster.
So you got lucky
Congratulations
