The Typing of the Dead is a modification of Sega's 1998 light gun arcade game The House of the Dead 2 in which the gun is replaced by a computer keyboard. At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

Not really... I was making a joke, that's all. I don't care if someone didn't understand the joke or got confused about what happened. It was explained many times, even in the video itself. So further explanation is really not needed...

dekipopica Those are probably not all the spectators. There should be a screen with more chairs in the room for people who want to watch the run without being in front of the camera. Considering that AGDQ runs at all times during the event, this might also just have been a very bad timeslot.

I won't define better but I will explain what I meant by better, it enhanced overall watching experience for me because a run is simply not as good without him laughing. It is just such a joyful laugh and unique that I haven't heard anyone else copy, without him at these marathons I would barley recognize what I am watching.

Aww... The credits are the best part as they'll start dancing, even doing the river dance. I do not remember if you have to have a consistent combo on the credits, but I remember my sister getting them to do the river dance.

That's blueglass, the guy who makes many of these videos unwatchable. I donated 50 dollars with an offer to give another 50 if he didn't laugh again for the rest of the event but they wouldn't take it. Of course my request was more like "fifty dollars to shut that laughing hyena jackass up".

It is a live event guys to collect money for a good cause. It is not some random youtube video which should entertain, in fact uploading the runs here is just a bonus.

omegaweaponredux I personally like Blueglass. Sure he may be annoying but something about him just makes me happy. I love how he is always in a good mood and laughing. It warms my heart.

A minute into this run brought back that feeling of that true next generation that the Dreamcast brought. The PS3 4, 360 ect never brought that feeling, since such type of graphics weren't new anymore.
Smart idea. Now imagine if NAMCO made the Type Crisis series with this idea...however, good luck porting Crisis Zone and Razing Storm with their destructible objects and rapid fire.
