I always had a feeling yoshifan was really shy in real life, just by the way he composed himself online. It's cool to finally see who he is! Being very shy my self, I could sense exactly how he felt being on camera doing a live speedrun...quite nerve wracking for him to some degree I'm sure, but he pulled the run off well and loosened up some as he progressed.
After this game came paper mario, which at the moment is more popular with runners. And after that was Zelda wind waker or a few smaller games in between. So people wanted to get rest before those big games.
It was like 4am when Yoshifan played this. It was also the last day so like Nathan said people wanted to sleep before the last big day due to games like Wind Waker and Chrono Trigger
It took me 2 years to beat bowser, 3 more to beat special world, never finished the green stars. At the start of this year, it took me 2 months to get all 242 stars, I am now forever at peace
3 days to beat the game till bowser, 2 more years to get all stars (I'm looking at you special world) and 1 year more to get all 242 star, 3 months to finish The Perfect Run
also I love that the donation reader seems to know this game pretty damn well and calls out the runner when he does something that looks like a joke but is actually insanely hard (example the 100 purple coins around 1:34:40)
I absolutely adore this game. Nostalgia is filling me just by watching this. Its an AMAZING game, and I wish they make Super Mario Galaxy 3 for the Nintendo Switch.
For the Upside Dizzy Galaxy, wouldn't it be faster to do the hidden star first? If you want to get a letter and a powerup on the same trip back to base, that would seem to be a good place to merge the two events, especially since that pipe is available to first time you enter the level.
Maybe you just need louder speakers... It sounds fine for me. If you want quiet, watch the first marathons they did. Those were terrible and not watchable.

Turns out they dislike giving the GAMERS some mic volume, instead the donation reader gets it all...Should be a bit reversed in my opinion, donations are great and all, but kinda of pointless having commenters when they have so little volume. Hope they fix it in the Summer get together this year.
And also, I was watching youtube videos before at a comfortable volume then I come here and it's too quiet to hear, so I end up turning my speakers all the way up which sets me up for a blast of volume if I do anything else and forget to fix them.
It's probably at least partially because it's worse to have the mics in the audience too sensitive in case they start picking up unwanted background noise, or making the clapping come out even louder than it already does.
Just a thought... anyone else noticed that Rosalinas earrings are the same as the think on the massive chain chomp in SMS? Also the ghost that appears in 3D world, there are loads of them in the sky in galaxy 2.

not trying to be that guy, but why do most speedrunners say "but that's fine" after they make a mistake? u screwed up, u know how to fix it, so don't try to play it off guys....ur far superior to us in running and know you guys are sick and able to overcome some shitty situations. as long as it's not a frame perfect run lol
The perfect run has never looked so easy. Even though he didn't make it. It took me 999 tries. Im not even kidding. I was on my absolute last life and my counter was down to 0 extra lives. It was my greatest triumph. .
I wish the screen displaying the actual game was bigger than the screen of the guys just sitting in a room, you'd think the game would take more priority.
I'm pretty sure its just a normal North-Eastern U.S. accent, maybe from somewhere in the West U.S. I don't really hear anything that stands out about it.
You should do that mod level for this game where some guy on RUclips hacked to make a way harder version of the Perfect Run- It's called the Master Quest.
I rember in the video the speedrunner was saying something about the number of either medals or stars having an affect of when a level gets its comet level unlocked. This is in conjunction with having their own comet medal. This makes since because if it were just having that level's comet medal unlocked, then recieving that comet medal would auto-unlock that levels comet star, which it doesn't.
Scott Tomes They need to use a different method for it, like scrolling text at the bottom of the screen or something for minor donations. Only reading the truly worthwhile donations out loud.

If you manage to see this: Yoshi flutters are where you do a flutter jump (hold a) and then you press z right before the flutter ends. it's pretty difficult to learn, and I'm still trying to do it consistently Wall jump spins is basically spinning after a wall jump. I found you can also spin directly before the wall jump as well

Is there any sort of list showing the amount of comet medals required for each prankster comet?
You don't need an amount, you just have to get the medal for a particular galaxy to get its prankster comet to appear.
