One of the best explanatory videos I've seen - clear and simple. Gave me the confidence to tackle this job myself after I discovered a squashed drain hose - saved me an engineer's call-out charge, thank you!
Legend! Another Swedish dishwasher saved. A tip. if the heat exchanger feels stuck it likely is because of years of heat. Just use more force after you removed all screws and unclipped. Also, you should add Siemens to the title as they are the same machines.
Adding my thanks. My issue was not draining, running with door open. Stripped down as suggested, found that the red float which operates the micro switch, the drain out of that part that the red float sits in was blocked. I think this meant that the machine assumed that drain was blocked. All cleared out and now it’s running. Worth an hour fiddling about. Thanks again.
8 years on and this viedo is still relevant. Many MANY thanks from Stockholm for this instructive and clear video. Just started up my machine now, and if it doesn't work I'll replace it knowing that I did everything in my power to fix the cloging etc thanks to you Sean ☀
Just want to say thank you for this video! We have a different Bosch model (SPX68B55UC) and although our matrix looks a little different, the process was pretty much the same. In the end, we didn't need to remove the water inlet hose to disconnect and then reconnect the drain hose, but everything else was the same. We would have never been able to figure this out ourselves, and we were able to save ourselves the time and money of a Bosch service call.
Hi I used your video to do the same thing on my dishwasher today. There was water coming out what looked like an overflo in the water index bottom left that was draining into the bottom of the dishwasher and showing E15. I took that off but first had to make 3 tools to get the plastic nut that is inside the washer off. This took ages and didn't come off like your in the video. For anyone that is battling to take this nut off. Take a pencil rubbing of the nut then cut it out and stick it onto a piece of hardward ply, I used 12mm. I put 8x40mm bolts through holes drilled in the wood near the corners of the template that was stuck to the wood. Its very difficult to explain but it worked. I also heated it with a hair dryer. Anyway thank you for your video it inspired me to give it a go.
Thanks Steve, I had a different Bosch model with a different matrix, but this perfectly explained how to disconnect the matrix, saved hours of fumbling and breaking bits - Great help
Thank you! I just spend the afternoon trying to find out what was the problem with my dishwasher and had I found your video 5 hours earlier, I might have finished within an hour! Appart from explaining how to change the drain hose, this video is awsome to learn how to remove the water matrix, which is what i so badly needed.
Is exactly the cleaning job I need to do on my second hand BOSCH dishwasher (just 3 years old). Great video find!! Fingers crossed that it will be working fine at then end of this maintenance.
Thanks for this. Replacing the drain hose didn't work for me in the end, and I had to replace the drain pump. But I bought the replacement drain pump from Ransom Spares as a thank you for this video, and replacing it worked perfectly.
Wow, all that just to swap a hose. I would never have managed without this detailed video. Thank you. Actually I was looking for the inlet hose swap, hoping this is the same only right next to the outlet hose.
Is there a rubber seal on the larger internal screw (2:31 on video) as after replacing it and getting everything working there appears to be water leaking from this area on a test run, I wonder if there was a seal I am now missing..thanks for reading
There is a rubber seal between the matrix and the dishwasher wall which easily falls off when the matrix is removed not mentioned here. Also a small point. my washer now only has one screw holding on the side panel
I somehow lost the seal too. After I put it all back together I was getting E15 errors and leakage. I solved it with some EPDM kit that I still had around from another house job. This time I also used the big wheel-screw first when putting the matrix back into place so that at least that one was fitting exactly in place. And I used a tool to fix it tighter because the first time I fixed it only by hand that that probably wasn't tight enough. Only then I put back the other 3 screws.
This was my problem exactly, the rubber seal fell down into the bottom tray and I didn’t realize there was one until I read this comment, thank you, it stopped leaking after I put the seal back!
Great video and helped me to remove the matrix. But wondering if you have a video on replacement of the water heater on this spesific model. It does not heat the water and at the end of the cycle I get the flashing tap light. 🤷🏼♂️
Trying to disconnect the inlet hose following your video but haven’t got your hand two pronged grippers, not sure if that’s what they are called? Can’t get it off to get the inlet hose out to replace the outlet hose!! Help!!!!
My matrix panel was stuck on to the black coating on the side of the wash chamber wall. I forced it off…. But can now see bare metal with this black stuff being stuck on the matrix in some areas. It was like it was glued in place. Is it a bad idea to put the matrix back with there being bare metal?
Saved my bacon! Thank you for a superbly clear explanation and demonstration. Now - how to stop the mice eating through this one and flooding the ktichen?
Thank you so much, for having such an easy to follow video, this is our second time to try and fix our problem.. We had you on pause right through the process, thought the drainage pipe might be blocked. This wasn't the case, then we took the matrix off( feel quite professional, using these terms:) )Boy... why would they glue this to the side insulation of the machine!!!!!! anyhow noticed some parts were rather black, so gave a couple or four rigorous soaks and shakes with desolved lime away product, and have re assembled. As our machine in integrated, it is a job and a half moving it in and out, sooooo we have got it back in, adjusted, and cursed, and all re connected....... and I am too scared to try it out...!!! What a dilemma, cause if it doesn't work, we won't be moving it again.
Thanks so much, excellent. BUT maybe worth saying that after doing this it might be necessary to tip the machine forwards to clear an air lock. This is evidenced by E15 error message. Happened to me, googled it, apparently quite a common problem after refitting the drain hose.
Just found this...saved me a load of cash and also couldn't get anyone available to do it quickly...ordered part on line and done in 30 mins happy days
Hello, I am relocating my dishwasher Bosch. The Fill hose has a white switch just where the water inlet joins the hose. What's the switch for ?? Thanks..Bill
First of al, thanks for this great video. I have the same dishwasher but after completion of the procedure that dishwasher doesnt work anymore? It fills up the water tank for 80% and than it stops. I hear a ticking sound but it doesnt starts running. Can someone help? What can it be?
Thanks, this was really helpful. Inlet hose clip on mine was a bit tricky to get off, very tight, however this video gave me confidence to complete the job myself. Thanks again.
Great video! My matrix has a blockage on the top left side and was wondering how to remove and clear. Can you help on E24 fault. Water is pumping out fine. But still shows this fault. Do have any other strip/ serving videos. I think it needs some thing like that.
Not resolved as yet. I have found ( by chance) that if I open the door after the initial empty cycle that it starts to fill straight away and works fine. Maybe electrical fault somewhere. More time needed
I just took off the matrix and tried feeding through some washing up liquid and hot water it helped dislodge a bit but still merky now the fun part of trying to connect it again lol
Martin Cook if you have time let me know if this works for you. I would like to overhaul the whole machine. Could use a few more videos like this one for those tips and tricks. Good luck!
The large inner water matrix securing nut is absolutely impossible to bust loose!! I've pretty much tried everything on this puppy. For a plastic nut I have no idea why it is so tight. Any idea what's going on there?
Thank you so much! Sorted my dishwasher in no time, had an extra screw for the side panel as my model is slightly different but everything else was the same! 😊
Absolute legend. Had a brand new 8 series (2022) that I accidentally damaged the drainage hose. Was able to use this to replace it, was not exactly the same but close enough.
my bosh diswasher keep returnig water from drain hose to the dishwasher and filling up from bottom what could be the problem? after cycle wather is drained properly but after that start to filling up I dissasembled the panel like you did and i was seeing from drain hose water going backward slowly
@@ebenvanzyl1241 yes! there wasn’t a problem with the dishwasher.Drain hose from sink was lower so when i was washing dishes in sink parts of the water was flowing to dishwasher so i rearranged the connections
Hi, Hopefully you see this message. I'm trying to access my heat element/ flow through heater on a similar model, but how do i get into the base? it doesn't seem have any screws and surely i dont have to disconnect all the hoses to get at it?
Thanks for this, exactly what I needed. My dishwasher is slightly different inside with the pipe travelling from the back to the front underneath everything and round to the front so the pipe needed pushed through due to this accessibility issue but all your steps and logic worked a treat. Thanks again.
Many thanks, I shall probably have to do this. On top of the price gouging re spares (I replaced a door latch earlier this year. The price of the part has increased sixty percent since then and is now about half the price of a basic dishwasher) We now find this complicated process just to fit a drain hose. I suppose it teaches me never to buy another Bosch.
Thanks, would have helped if you had shown how to drain the water matrix though. In the end I just plugged it back in and put it on a quick 45 degree cycle and let the machine drain it'self then just unplugged it when the matrix was empty.
Excellent video! I just wanted to ask if it is possible to replace the Reed Switch for Flow Meter once the water matrix has been removed? I can't replace the entire flow meter via the front, only the printed circuit board unfortunately (Bosch SMS40A06GB AvantiXX ActiveWater 60cm Freestanding Dishwasher)... many thanks in advance
Hi Great video thank you. Not sure whether you can help but I have a Bosch SMS63M08 it works perfectly only 10% of the time. But the other 90% -- after about 30 seconds after starting a cycle the "Check water" error comes on and the machine stops. Things I have done are: cleaned the water valve filter, tested water valve resistance and tested the valve with 240v input and it opens and shuts fine. Blowing down the water inlet pipe had no blockages. Tested the water flow meter reed switch with a magnet and multimeter - it tested fine. Used a magnet to spin the impeller in the flow meter - it spins freely. The machine drains fine with no blockages. I am now at a loss for what to do next, any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Merci Super clair. Cela m'a permis de trouver la solution pour accéder au tuyau de vidange. Je prenais la problème dans l'autre sens et cela aurait été beaucoup plus compliqué pour accéder aux joints toriques
This is a great video, really easy to follow and successful replacement. The only problem is that it now is purring away and the lights are not coming on...so near yet so far! Are you able to offer a solution please?
Mine was jammed as well. Use a pair of the same type of pliers as shown in the video. Position the pliers so the jaws are apart and gripping the outer edges of the nut rather than the middle.

Thank you from New York City. That was unnecessarily difficult but you helped it make sense.
Thank you for making it simple and straight forward.
There was a guy that did this all careful. I love that you did it this way. JUST PULL IT APART!!!!

Echoing other's comments, this was great for helping me to disconnect the matrix on my Bosch SMS50E02GB/04. Many thanks.
hox can i change the pump with all these plastic around
Thanks for the tips! Great step by step guide 🌐

Kory Blackmore what's scary is we have the same last name and I too cannot release the nut did you manage to undo it?
SliPsHoTiFc Must run in the family genes ;) Use a large hex/Allen key as in the lower nut. I struggled at first too and mashed it up slightly.
I'm struggling getting this off too! Tried the Allen key but even that is just turning as the plastic flexes! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh
Use pliers and rotate it gently and then you can effortlessly undo it
Perfect “how to”. My dishwasher still throws water all over the floor, but at least I know for certain it’s not the drain hose.
Why do you have to disconnect the matrix? Why not just unplug the hose from the matrix?
Thank you for this easy to follow video. I just did my drain hose and it was so easy to follow.

Thank you so much for this. Showed step by step what to do. Easy to follow.
Very much appreciated - taking out that matrix isn't that difficult with this video.

The hose inside the dishwasher (2:26) is really hard to be taken off. We failed that part😓
Done all the steps and my machine is this exact one - it seems to be stuck at the top on something you’ve not mentioned?
Can anyone help?

Finger crossed for my Siemen integrated model that is now back together despite the fiddling about the only tools I had
the light of the Dishwasher for increasing the amount of salt does not turn off knowing that the salt tank is full
What are the possibilities for that
Thanks a lot, saved me an expensive callout!
Thank you very much!. Although my dishwasher had another failure - related to the flux meter- , your video helped me to mend it successfully.
Thank you for your explanations, I have the Error E23, what about for that please.
Супер. Только было страшно выкручивать пластиковые держатели изнутри машинки. А так, всё поделу. И главное - наглядно!

got the same problem, any luck finding out what that was?
excelente, este video esta disponible en español?
Great video and exactly what I needed. Thanks
I’ll try this to sort out e24 code issue. I’ve tried everything else suggested
Great job! Thank You very much. This stuff was very helpful
We followed your video and we were able to change the drain hose, thanks!
Very very good …Nice Information Sir 👌👍
Thanks!! you saved me from my mother-in-law LOL
Has anyone tried to change the pipe without talking out the maxtrics ?
everything i needed in one video. Thank you Sir
Brilliant - thank you for taking the time to do this
Thank so much. This video helped me a lot.
thank you so much for the video, I can't undo the upper nut (inside) of the water matrix it simply will not release. you spun yours effortlessly
Did you have any luck with this? I have the same problem
Rosy Millington Use a hex/Allen key as in the lower one. Figured it out after breaking mine slightly.
Use pliers and gently rotate it
Mine was jammed as well. Use a pair of the same type of pliers as shown in the video. Position the pliers so the jaws are apart and gripping the outer edges of the nut rather than the middle.
*good tutor*👍💓🤩
Massive help, thank you 🙂
Very clear and helpful. Thanks
awesome mate great explanation. appreciate the help
Where the f is ”you can see right here” at 1:28
Perfect instructions - thank you so much. Made a job I wouldn't normally touch with a bargepole a relatively easy if slightly moist fix. Cheers!
Thanks for this, turns out its a little bit easier on older (2000) models as the matrix doesn't need to come out but you do need to figure out how to catch the new hose and bend it around the back of the ion exchanger.
Can't even take the side panels off to see the matrix. No screws!
Just what i needed THANK YOU!
Thanks very useful sharing. 👏
Think I'll get a man in.
Thank you for sharing.
Amazing, thank you so much. This is so helpful. Works almost exactly the same for our Siemens model.
All went well until removing the matrix the bottom hoses are stuck fast trie WD 40 gentle force button t budge it
Thanks a million. Was super helpful.
No problem ... Glad we helped!
2:20 that thing won't come out
