  • In this video I demonstrate dehydrating a #10 can of pineapple. If you've ever wondered how to dehydrate canned pineapple, and how much actual pineapple is in a #10 can, you're in the right place. I show you how much juice was in the can compared to the amount of pineapple, and how much the dehydrated pineapple shrunk down compared to the canned. I also share how long it took to dehydrate the pineapple in my Nesco dehydrator.

      That's so sweet of you! Yes, I haven't been on much. I'm finding it hard to record videos in my new living situation (living with my elderly mom). I've decided to focus on blogging, but still plan to publish videos here and there. I have a link to a blog post that goes with this video in the description. At the bottom of the post there is a place to opt in to be notified when I publish new posts. I do recommend that (and would appreciate it!), since I'll be publishing blog posts frequently and videos only occasionally.

    I would’ve tried to concentrate the juice in a pot until pretty thick, then dehydrated that too, to make yummy fruit leather!😋🤗

    I read one person said about halfway thru to dip them in the juice and continue dehydrating.

      Interesting! I might have to give that a try next time. It would be interesting to try that on half of them and then compare.

    Would it work to cut the chunks in half and then dehydrate them? They just seem a bit thick. Good video. Thank you

    • @StockingMyPantry
      @StockingMyPantry  2 года назад

      You definitely could cut them, and they would dehydrate faster. They did shrink down quite a bit in spite of how large they were when they started.

    If you had a bunch of peaches would you dehydrate or make tons of jam / canned peaches? What would you suggest.
    Thanks for the informative videos!

    • @StockingMyPantry
      @StockingMyPantry  3 года назад +2

      I've dehydrated peaches and they turned out well. I've also made peach butter, which was delicious! If you have a lot of peaches, you might want to consider doing more than one thing. For example, do one dehydrator full of peaches, and then do a canner full of jam. If you still have some, then can peaches. This way you have variety in your pantry rather than a whole bunch of the same thing.
      You're very welcome about the videos. I appreciate your kind words!

      I haven't, but that's a great idea! I don't have a salad spinner, but there are a lot of good reasons to get one!

    How long does the pineapple last in jars after dehydrated

    • @StockingMyPantry
      @StockingMyPantry  Год назад +2

      Typically at least a year, especially if you use an air tight container, it's stored in a reasonably cool space, doesn't get a lot of exposure to light, etc. In my case, we ate them super fast, :)
