These are way better "budget" postcards than those of Turin 2022. I love the callbacks to previous entries and the reveal of the artist. It is sober but effective production from Sweden.
You'll see Croatia's, see the name Baby Lasagna show up, expecting someone goofy looking. But then the most handsomest guy shows up, all suited up and breaks out into his dance move. King!
The way the laser beam goes to the country and the past song starts to fade up as it zooms is a great concept especially when the song is uptempo like cyprus, germany or portugal
Swedes are experts at producing high-quality shows, and I love everything about this year's performances: staging, lighting, and visuals... Thank you, Sweden, for your effort! It's a pleasure watching Eurovision this year.
The postcards are really nice, despite being budget postcards. Love the idea of the previous contestants being highlighted, although the choices of some of the songs is not ideal. The only thing that could improve them is what they did in 1996 in the postcards. When the second throwback song ends, the main part of the postcard could start with the artist saying their name, which I think would be a nice touch.
That's exactly what I was wondering, there were many songs I expected to see in the past songs clips, like ABBA and maybe for Natalia and Hera their previous entries.
Some choices raised my eyebrows. For Germany they picked Mekado instead of Guildo Horn. The latter is a massive legend. Who remembers the former act here?
I don't know how maybe because Karrija scored more points, but Lordi is real winner like Riva for Croatia 1989 although then was Yugoslavia, but Riva croatian band and Eurovision 1990 was in Zagreb, not Belgrade
Maybe the artists/delegations got to choose which previous entries they wanted to show in the postcards? I think that Windows95man definitely could have chosen CatCat, as they were a memorable and cheesy 90's act. Would be very much on brand for him 😄
It seems like the concept was to a pick an old song, and the most recent successful song. So Lordi is not old enough for the old song, and not recent enough when they’ve had such a recent high scoring song.
I love the postcards, the only thing I would change is how the previous representatives were edited into the postcard.. it was just pasted one after another, no real transition or something, so it was just a bit amateurish with the editing. But otherwise I liked seeing the previous representatives as well as the self-made postcards from each country. And also then the artist posing with the name, that was cool. It was a bit X-Factor-y, but I loved X-Factor, so I didn't mind this :)
At first I thought these postcards were super cheap and I didn't like them, but the more I've seen them, the more they've grown on me! I actually like the idea of seeing the singer filmed like that and not with professional equipment like the other postcards
You could go to Eurovision at 90 for all that matters, there's literally no age requirement and many artists go when they are ancient. So there's always hope :D
Tbh I really like this postcards. They are not like Portugal "look we have beaches and nature, come to travel". These postcards show the country of participant and tell us a bit more about artists. Great concept! ❤
Bambie Thug did the slowmo endpose the best from this semi. The postcards in general this is one of the best this year. 2015 is still my favorite though.
Poland had a unlucky spot between Ukraine and Croatia, both beeing among the favorites this year. And I feel that Poland lost it's chance to advance on the very last note of the song which was more a fade out than a big finale.
Sweden not using Abba for their postcard is odd (since it's their anniversary) Love Luxemburg throwback to France Galll. Overall loving the postcards concepts :-)
This is why I’m proud of beeing Portuguese. Less fireworks, less american generic pop songs. More humanity and preservation of the beautifull diversity in Europe. Union and peace!

I think they tried to show the change between the past and more recent... why Nicole wasn't chosen for Germany... make no sense at all. They picked maybe songs that represent the typical music that was popular in the decade when it was competing.
Why are they so low quality? Like you made the artists film them on their phones by themselves. Were you about to go over budget, or did you remember the post cards last minute and had to rush it?
