As far as I know the thing was: The Dutch guy didn't want to be filmed after the performance and the camera operator kept trying to. The Dutch guy said or did something. The punishment was considered too much by some people and by that I mean, the public, the dutch broadcaster etc, he was one of the favorites to win.
You want an explanation? Okay, here we go: 1) The Dutch representative failed to behave according to the EBU code of conduct that they are _required_ to follow. Not only that, but their behaviour was so bad it even warranted a police report and investigation. For that reason, they were disqualified. 2) The Israeli delegation lived up to the EBU code of conduct, and therefore got to stay. There you go sweetheart, explanation delivered. And now you are pulling breath to say: "But I liked the Dutch entry, and I dislike Israel as a nation!" Yeah, well... tough.

The one thing I like about this year's flag parade is the artists are front and center when they are called unlike in the past they parade in the side of the stage or they do not go far front of the stage. Other than that I find this year underwhelming, compared to last year. No past winners performing (2019 and 2023), or some back up dancers (2014, 2021 and 2022).

It was a pretty disappointing flag parade TBH. We've had some very original and creative parades over the last few years (2016 and 2019 come to mind as especially unique) and this one looks like they did the bare minimum. Great energy from the crowd and all participants, though.

The one thing I like about this year's flag parade is the artists are front and center when they are called unlike in the past they parade in the side of the stage or they do not go far front of the stage. Other than that I find this year underwhelming, compared to last year. No past winners performing (2019 and 2023), or some back up dancers (2014, 2021 and 2022).

It was a pretty disappointing flag parade TBH. We've had some very original and creative parades over the last few years (2016 and 2019 come to mind as especially unique) and this one looks like they did the bare minimum.
Great energy from the crowd and all participants, though.

@@orrling although they did not mention anything and nobody went on stage, during that time that they are showing the audience, the Netherlands is displayed on the screen and people were cheering. You can see it on the behind the scenes footage. They put a lot of effort into timing and everything so they can’t just cut 15 seconds from the parade as that would de synchronise everything
