    Wow, Indians should be knowing this. But not all of them know this now. Infact, people have forgotten Ayurveda's importance since British rule.

      Yes, learning more about Ayurveda's history throughout India has been a blessing. I'm grateful to have found it :)

    You mentioned canned and frozen foods. Would that include something like a can of plain organic beans and a bag of organic frozen spinach? Or do you mean more processed canned and frozen foods?
    Just trying to wrap my Kapha head around the eating part of this.
    Thanks for the video 🙏 easy to watch and listen to. Will have to watch more now 🙂

      Hi Rocco! Great question! There is a little gray area in this. Mainly when I mention frozen foods and canned goods I'm talking about precooked-frozen meals, soups, stews.. canned beans could also be included. Flatly, yes anything canned or frozen with have less ojas then its fresher counter part.
      However, convenience plays a role in what we're able to make and consume depending on our schedules so if frozen vegetables and canned beans are the only way for you to consume, then yes eat the frozen veggies and canned beans. None of us are perfect, so don't be too hard on yourself. For the canned beans, be sure to give them a good rinse before adding them into a meal or eating them.
      **If you're imbalance and want to work on rebuilding ojas, then I would not recommend eating any canned or frozen goods. But if you're healthy, moderation is OK.
      Beans are best bought in bulk, soaked overnight, and appropriately spiced while cooking for best digestion and highest ojas energy. :)
      One of the reasons I love Ayurveda so much is because it challenges us to become aware of our food, body and how we uniquely function from different food and practices. It also works towards strengthening our connection to not only our food, but the natural world as a whole and our own individual self. :))
      Let me know if you have any questions! I rambled a bit there at the end haha

      Clareminded, that’s great, thx! I’ll try to get used to cooking them. I didn’t really know about any Ayurvedic principles until I read Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousins. Looking forward to learning more.
      And rambling is good when it evidences your passion and excitement!

    Never had a word for it, but I can always tell by looking in the mirror in my own eyes, Do I look bright and sharp and alert, or do I look dull, sluggish and disconnected from myself

    Ojas is protected when we are able to live in the present moment with pure, detached awareness. Also you should add planet ayurveda’s herbal services in your life for better health.

    I'm a little worried my Ojas are too strong right now. Is that possible??

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  5 лет назад +1

      Chris Lambrou that could totally be! If your feeling a bit to stable and stuck or lazy you could have an excess amount. In that case wrk in strengthening your Prana and tejas. Maybe some breath of fire and eating light fresh salads. Happy Ojas :)

    What type of oils do you suggest for abyhanga (spelling that wrong I’m sure)? Different kinds for a particular type?

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  5 лет назад

      Hannah Widmer great question! It can always vary with the seasons, but typically sesame is best for vata, coconut for pitta, and sunflower or mustard oil for kapha
