What about timing the muzzle brake? I noticed the instructions say to time the muzzle device so that a flat is at the 12oclock but there is no mention of it in any video I’ve seen.
Solid video for those who are getting into the ever popular suppressor world. Keep doing what you are doing, you have the best cans and best mounting method.
I have a 556 flash hider on mine and it did not come with a wrench or anything and for what its worth, Huxwrx does not fit with any AR armor wrenches I have.
Check to see if it is pinned and welded. If it is pinned and welded then there isn't much you can do. If it is NOT pinned and welded then get yourself a a pot of water and boil the old muzzle device (and muzzle end of your barrel) for 5-10 minutes. The heat helps a little bit but really what is happening is that your old muzzle device, if installed properly, is rocksett on. Rocksett is water soluble. After boiling, slap your upper into a fixture and torque that old muzzle device off. IMPORTANT: when done with that process, clean your rifle. Lubricate it immediately. Hit the threads with acetone or brake parts cleaner. You don't want the lubrication on your threads when you install the new muzzle device.
@@Wasd3rHeat doesn't work on rocksett. Heat works on loctite. If the factory is using loctite on the muzzle device then you need to stop buying from that company.
@@JenkinsStevenD If it's pinned and welded (and you're not a complete Nancy who's never used an angle grinder, dye grinder, or a drill press), find the weld, carefully grind (or drill) it out, remove the pin, and unscrew the existing muzzle device. ...it's not brain surgery. There are several videos on YT that show the process, and if you're feeling lucky once you've removed the old and installed the new, bust out the tig welder and tack in a new pin (that you can make with a tig electrode). ...or if you are incompetent, just take it to a gunsmith. He'll have it done in an hour.
The most common question I hear about installing these is about the use of some thread locker compound. Everyone is always confused on what color loctite or if rocksett instead should be used or etc. I wish you would of covered that in this new updated install video to quell all future speculation on that topic.
We would recommend red loctite over rocksett but they are not required with our muzzle devices which why we didn't cover it. We can note talking about that in a future video.
It would be nice if Huxwrx would put out a definitive statement on the use of thread locking products and add it prominently to their FAQ. I actually contacted their customer service and asked if they recommended using anything and, if so, which product. All I got back was a reply that said I could use Rocksett or blue Loctite or red Loctite if I wanted to. It's almost like they are being intentionally vague because they are worried about liability or something. I already knew the things i could do. What I wanted was their recommendation.
Does your flash hider fit directly on tapered barrels like the Sig Spear LT has, or do I need to use a taper adapter? Since the FH doesn't need to be timed like a brake or comp I figured it might be okay without the adapter, but not 100% sure about the mating surface when torqued down.
@@shawnkuykendall9928 nope I never heard back. I went ahead and ordered the taper adapter from Sig just to be safe and assembled everything a couple weeks ago. Then after shooting a full mag of quick 3-round bursts I melted my glove on the Flow 556k can 😅

How does this relate to the Ak platform with the detent and the muzzle device with holes
We'll be making a video for AKs!
@@HUXWRX Did that never make it out or am I missing something?
I’m here for the Ak detent question
I just put my m24x1.5 rh flash hider on my kr 103, it does not even touch detent pin, hope that answers your question!
@@dustin3396how do you torque it down?

That’s correct, you need to buy one separately, or buy one of their cans. The can comes with the tool for the wrench and a muzzle device
Shims and timing have gone away? Hooray.
Actually my challenge is getting the rifle’s factory muzzle brake off. Suggestions?
Heat it up, then it should come off fine

What size torque wrench? The tool doesn't fit either of mine

How do i torque the ak flash hider? I imagine torquing it via the flat spot on the tines is a major no go.
The flats on the ports work well!
Are they still shipping with the "included" suppressor tool? I just picked mine up today and there's no tool in the box
With the muzzle devices we are not.
I didn’t get the tool with my suppressor either-just saying

Does the 556 muzzle brake QD need to be timed with sims or no?
What size drive? Guessing 3/8?
Is it OK if I put two tips in one soft sleeve? Of do they need separate sleeves? 😅
