    Beautiful Cardigan and I’ve been crocheting for years but, you go so fast in this video that I just can’t seem to grasp what you’re doing. I know that this video is old but I would really love to be able to make this. I’m having problems discerning where the corners are located.

    Love this design. Thanks for showing & sharing your patterns. I have friends that crochet, but can't always afford to make certain piece's. That's why I love your channel, you make amazing piece's & you share them free for people who crochet that are on fixed income's or limited income's. By the time you buy all the yarn & needles needed, adding on the cost of the patterns sometimes make it unaffordable. Again, thanks for your channel & designs. 👍👍

      You're welcome. It all can add up! For future reference, the yarn I use for each pattern can be substituted with any brand worsted weight yarn. I like to use the yarn that I have in my stash, like you I'm very Thrifty.. I try not to buy any extra yarn.

      @@LittlejohnsYarn it looks like a stylish coat to me with the granny stitch.
      However, if you use the Bernat Blanket yarn that looks like Terry cloth with a solid hexagon instead of a granny hexagon, it would be a fly bath robe.

      Littlejohn's Yarn omgggg love the lemon peel stitch I've made couple of blankets with that stitch , one blanket i used Hobby Lobby I Love this yarn in a variegated the color city beat , oh my it cane out gorgeous! And the stitch works up soooo fast ..So I was thinking it would make a beautiful cardigan/ sweater.... I was thinking to try it myself and just do a basic cardigan pattern like Sewrella , it's the everyday cardigan pattern , a basic rectangle with the two front panels crocheted right to it then make the sleeves and attach them , i personally like when a cardigan pattern where the sleeves are crocheted right to the piece rather than making them separate and attaching them .... ok well your work is always beautiful and easy to follow so Im going to keep an eye out for that cardigan you're going to come up with lol

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  5 лет назад +1

      @@dawnamendola8690 I love "I love this yarn". We finally got a Hobby Lobby a year ago. I would get so jealous of all you lucky crocheters, lol. I hate sewing crochet too. its a pain in the butt. Typically, when a designer makes you sew its because they couldn't find a more attractive way of doing it...or...if they wrote out the pattern it would confuse the crocheter. You would probably like the granny hexagon sweater....a nice repetitive row with arms included .If you can make a granny square this pattern is simple. ruclips.net/video/QAIW5olKuuE/видео.html I bet I could take the Hexagon shape and replace the stitch with lemon stitch....hmm...thanx for getting my juices flowing, lol

    • @dawnamendola8690
      @dawnamendola8690 5 лет назад

      Littlejohn's Yarn i do have your hexagon coat/ cardi on my to do list ! I have no idea how to design a Crochet garment but I would think that attaching the yarn for the sleeve and just crocheting around until the sleeves long enough is pretty easy to begin with but that's my opinion ... thank you for responding and i hope you can come up with something looking forward to it

  • @laurelgirard8475

    To make the body of the sweater bigger without increasing the circumference of the sleeves, line up the two halves and. Crochet the granny stitch pattern up and down the back seam. Lightly stitch the back and try it on for size. If the fit is right, remove loose stitching and do the mattress stitch tighter. You can also crochet up & down the front seam of the cardigan.

    I absolutely love how you teach! Your video is fantastic! I am however a little stuck! When you're adding to the length on the bottom you demonstrate 2 rows and say to repeat them to finish. The first row starts by chaining 4 in the chain 2 space but on the repeat there is 4 chains & a dc cluster no chain 2 space! So do I chain in the space between the chain 4 and the dc cluster? I'm sure I'm missing something but I've watched the video at least a dozen times! I would very much appreciate your help! Thank you!

    I love these coats...how can the sleeves be narrowed? Thanks for sharing❤️. It's cozy looking

      It's a little difficult to explain. The coat is made from 2 Granny hexagons, therefore all the sides are equal distance apart. You will have to make a small hexagon and add additional row to the opening and back of the coat

      It can but the sleeve with be alot wider. The coat is made from 2 Granny hexagons, therefore all the sides are equal. To fix that for your size,You will have to make a small hexagon and add additional row to the opening and back of the coat. The shape of the coat will come out the same

    Hello. I’m new to your channel. And I really love this coat/sweater. I consider myself more experienced than just a beginner and less experienced than advanced. I know quite a bit and I think Im pretty good at what I can crochet. However there are some techniques that I do not know how to do therefore that is why I am on your channel trying to learn how. Especially how to crochet this coat. Sadly I never learned the correct way on how to crochet the granny square. I understand most of it but there are just certain areas I get confused with. And to make a 7 or 8 point star, yea I’m confused I like like the sound of your voice which help ease my frustration (lol) But if I may, make a itty-bitty suggestion is here I am trying to watch and learn as your video states, but you are crocheting quite fast. Can you slow it down just a little bit like for example take a few second break in between each cluster and describe how your doing it step by step, at least for a few of the clusters.
    And secondly, in the beginning you crochet 5 chains then you connect your circle. Can I just make a magic circle instead of having to do 5 chains? Then chain 3, work my DC’s into the circle, chain 2 repeat Is that ok to? Or do you suggest to crochet 5 then connect? Thanks.

      I'm so sorry, sometimes I get ahead of myself when i'm crocheting. You make ad excellent point. I will try to make a mental note to slow down. I do have a little tip to fix my error, lol. If you are using a computer, look on the bottom right hand corner of the video player. You will see a little Gear icon. Click that and you can slow down my video to your liking. And yes Magic rings work fine. Thank you so much for stopping by

    If I wanted to make this bigger than an XL, would I just increase the number of rows for the body part? And of course do the same to the bottom so it's long enough?

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  5 лет назад

      You're correct, all you have to do is continue increasing rows

    I could have sworn you said half double crochets for the 2nd row of the homespun. Would you please clarify?

    I know this is an old tutorial, but if we prefer not to use homespun yarn due to texture issues, then what would you recommend instead?

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  5 лет назад +1

      You can use yarn let you please. It's a design choice. Instead of a fuzzy boarder, you can use regular texture yarn. Or something really fuzzy like Lion Brand Faux fur. It's all up to you. You are the designer 🥰

    • @LittlejohnsYarn

      You will make the original granny hexagon smaller. And add more additional roads on the back and front of your coat. If it doesn't make sense leave me another comment

    • @conniestone6251
      @conniestone6251 6 лет назад +1

      do you mean by using a smaller hook, or what?

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  6 лет назад +1

      Connie Stone You would use the same size hook. the coat is created like a granny square. So no matter what you do the rows will always be equal all the way around. So once you hit a the row count where you like the sleeve width stop...at this time you coat will be narrower than everyone else's. Therefore you will add a few rows to the opening of the coat the the back of you coat.
