How to cut vertical blinds

Do you have vertical blinds that are too long? Are they rubbing on the bottom of the window sill. Here is a quick solution for you! In this video we will show you how to cut down vertical blind slats in 2 minutes. It’s as easy as 1,2,3!
This video is a quick tutorial on how to cut down vertical blind slats in 2 minutes.
First, measure how much you need to trim off. See the unique way the expert installer uses a small cutting of a vane and a hex screw to mark the slats. Next use a pair of scissors to cut the vanes. This can be easily done when the vertical blinds are installed in the window. Once you have cut all the slats with the scissors, then voila! You have shortened the vertical blinds yourself!

Great trick if you need to cut if when it's already installed, but I'm more interested in how to cut it right, like what kind of cutting tools, etc. Most people look at this video like before they install the blinds.

Same concept just cut them on the floor then. It's easier for me to put them up and trim so we can cut a more custom cut into the window. If you have the right blade, you can also use a miter saw and also a paper cutter.

@@Bestcustomscreens At that point, if they're all off the clips, why not just stack the set (if they're flat of course) and cut them all at once with a skill saw. Far better way to ensure you get them all exactly the same length and straight.🤷

@brianjones8432 you need to have the right RPM and blade. If not then the vanes may chip or break. Most people don't have the right tools. Our shop uses a commercial chop saw with a specialized blade.

This is how you cut vinyl pvc Vanes not fabric with weights in them. The only way I know how to cut the style would be to hem them using a sewing machine. Hope this helps.

The pvc vertical blinds we are cutting do not have weights. If your vertical blinds have weights, then they are fabric. You cannot use this technique on fabric vertical blinds.
