Yo hacía ese trabajo también, pero finalmente dejé de hacerlo, porque el calor que la soldadura genera, produce desprendimiento de escoria de metal por dentro, y esta al mezclarse con el aceite, termina agripado las partes móviles del motor (biela, pistón, válvulas), o obstruyendo el capilar del sistema.
Disculpe colega, yo lo realizo y duran varios años los trabajos y para revivir un muerto no está mal que se le saque algunos años más, tálvez algo está errado en la sellada
hay que dar un lavado antes de instalar.

You can cut one same size as plate. Just be creative.

Just for knowledge ,why is everything welded by the compressor manufacturer , can't packing or gasket be used ( flange type nut bolt ) , so that it can be opened and serviced when necessary .
