Please do learn the difference between food grade aluminium and other aluminium like shown in this video. According to the research these Afghan pots are adding extreme levels of lead to the food, which is causing a lot of problems in the population and furthermore, these Afghan cauldrons have been banned in foreign countries.

Metals used in engines and such are not food grade and require significant chemical refining that is not done here to remove lead from them.

Какой смысл беспокоиться об отдаленных последствиях здоровью, если ты можешь умереть в любой момент? И, да, я не только про Афганистан.

It's actually very easy to remove contaminants like lead from aluminum, just not cost efficient for these people

"not cost efficient" for the owner, not for these people who have no choice to literally scrape a living.

@MathaGoram well, they can scrape for living all they want as long as their product is not harmful for others who also scrape for living

Yeah, "but we just make food grade pots (drilling holes for detonator..)"
      :)
These are indeed double use products if watching that way.
I think using to making food kills anyways.
      It's little bit sad thing.
Using some old brass casing from cannon shell would be so much better, least in theory.

Here at UNICEF we pay these gentlemen 33 cents a month that's 33 cents a month that they make for making all these pots and lids in handles! We think it's very fair and a positive outlook on life they can send their children to school and out on the streets to get food when they turn 10 we can have them making pots too we can make more pots in a month than anybody can do...
Just us doing our part here at UNICEF thank you so very much... 😊
