Hey Chris, thank you so much for all of the free knowledge! I have studied your videos over the years and they have helped me alot on my journey. I am getting ready to re-watch this hoping to gleen some more from it, so I apologize if this question is redundant. I am wondering if doing this process with chicken ohful is something you have heard of or have any input on. Anyone else reading this, feel free to chime in! Many thanks!
Hi Chris,
Thanks for these videos
I am following u from last 4 years for my balcony gardening and I am really thankful to you that u have shared ur expertise with us
In India, most of the fertilisers are cow dung based and I live in rented apartment; my house owner will never allow me to use cow dung based fertilisers as they r smelly
Ur videos helped me lot as all the fermented juices r easy to make
I have one question
Is the ratio1:1 compulsory?
I have made FAA even with half amount of brown sugar and even with 1/3 rd ?
If I don’t maintain that ratio will it affect the quality of FAA?
Great video, can wormcastings be a substitute for IMO?
You can use imo4, compost, leaf mold soil, worm castings. You can even not add anything other than the sugar and fish and still it will work.
I'm wondering if I cam reapply sugar to mines it was tossed around when a friend of mines moved it and put it in the sun I'm cheese. I'm thinking to start over again another batch
I found that carp is great as they specifically go after amino acids in their diets. . Ive used salmon but maybe carp is just high amino acids. More than others . They have taste buds on belly fins and barbs. They can track aminos one part per trillion .
Love the shirt brother!! 🙏
can you use imo2(liquid) as well instead of imo4?
I'm inspired to be that crazy lady to ask for fish heads at a seafood restaurant I've been eyeing for sometime!
Go to meat markets, sometimes they give them out for free too
or maybe you can ask for them at a supermarket...
You’d be surprised, the head is the most prized part of fish in China and other parts of SE Asia.
I'm that guy at the grocery store.
@Christrump, Hi Chris , huge fan and going all in with knf. Quick question about FAA, Is fish sauce like Ex. Squid brand anchovy fish sauce have the same amount of aminos as knf faa? It seems like it is the same process except they use sea salt instead of sugar. Would that be an okay replacement during the wait of knf sugar fermentation? I would also use less fermented sea water if I was using the store bought sea salt ferment. Thanks in advance!
What parts of the fish can be used? Would you be able to use just fish guts? Thanks :)
(P.S. loved the magic trick at 5:00!)
Gracias mi hermano!
Mind blown
Thank you for sharing your video
If I have no IMO 4 for the faa can I use like a sprinkle of recharge. ? Or any microbial inoculate??
Where can someone get IMO 4?
Hi Chris, Thank you for all of your awesome videos. I am super stoked about KNF for Cannabis. I have an alkaline 8+ water supply and am wondering how to mitigate any potential damage to my KNF applications from the acid that I use to PH down the water. I use the Advanced Nutrients PH down with Potassium Hydroxide as the active ingredient.
tamsenish use knf ph down. It’s different
PH down with a natural apple cider vinegar. I don't imagine that would hurt anything. He talks about using vinegar to clean his equipment because it doesn't mess up his inputs.
Thanks
Hi chris,
I got the fish from fish market which is sitting on ice. Does it work or I wasted it? And I don't have any IMO but I have OHN. Can I use it alone?
In looking for a cheap source of sugar, I came across an ag supplier with bulk molasses. Feed for cattle. The non-urea molasses for calves is $20/5gal pail and he can fill a 1000L tote as well. Is this a good alternative to brown sugar?
Is the imo4 and the fpj absolutely necessary? I don't have any...I do have some LABS tho...would that work???
Where do we get the IMO4 and FAA stuff?
I thought Salmon is higher in phosphorus than nitrogen...maybe im missing something here ...but red meat =phos right?
Hi Chris! If the bones and scales dont break down in the 6 months, why add them? I'm curious because I was thinking to try and do this process with a lot of shrimp heads and shells and when you said the scales dont break down, I second guessed my experiment.
Grind them. Re ferment them
Add them because it's too time consuming to pick everything out beforehand.
@@HollyOak Hi! Or I could just filet the fish. But I wont be doing that, I'll add whole fish when I finally try it
That's what I thought, patis without the salt.
can i use a probiotic capsule ,instead of imo
Like a gelatin capsule probiotic supplement? No do not put those on your plants
Sir How to make all probiotic for biofloc fish farming. Please please please sir tell me
yuck his hand will smell fishy for the next 3 days
Or he could just rinse off with a litte LABS0
I hope he is NOT related to Donald......I don’t think so, cause Donald is super ignorant, and this guy is intelligent.
hi Chris,
thanks for all the video's!!! me and my partner all all in with KNF after discovering your channel.
4 questions that i think you may have fun discussing.
1. we started our FAA but now 3-6 months out for use. However we were wondering if we can use shelf bought fish sauce (fermented in salt?) as a substitute while we wait for our batch
2. I've heard people discuss micro-organisms grow or collect on ice (possibly on horror frost build up on lakes and ponds) or even using fresh snow that have collected the biology in our environment. Have you any thoughts on this?
3. As mentioned we're into winter. We collected mycelium in the summer and is now dormant in a container indoors. Can you possibly discuss a process to colonize indoors?
4. We picked up mycorizea (for rooting) and want to reproduce to create our own. Our thoughts were to mix the store bought microrizea with perlite and kelp to reproduce and create 10x or even more to make our dollar go farther.
Thanks for taking the time to read and possibly discuss. :)
Wwaaw Men I love your peards and your work is so inspiring to me thank you great teacher. I'm Dave from Cameroon West Africa
Who else is benge watching trump I love this kind of farming
Does anyone know if using fish culled from a goldfish/koi hatchery operation would be acceptable?
Yeah you can! Not as good a product as deep water fish though
@@biomei.solutions Makes sense. I'm not surprised about the species difference, mostly glad that the hatchery environment won't be a problem. I haven't heard of anyone using hatchery fish yet.
The confirmation means a lot, thank you. I explained my ambition of making FAA at (moderate) scale to a marine biologist and they flipped out at the idea seeing at as nothing but an opportunity to spread disease and parasites.
I know he didn't say it, and idk if it's "KNf approved", but for those that don't have imo, using some labs will produce the same thing. It'll keep it from going putrid, and as far as I can tell or taste, it's the exact same thing.
Hi Chris Thank you for sharing this great information. Can you also use crustaceans, either as primary or combination material source?
I started the KNF journey in the spring of this year in my 200sq ft raised bed vegetable garden after being inspired by your video’s. So thanks for sharing your time and knowledge. OHN was intimidating for several reasons but it turned out great. LAB almost exploded in my shed. The fungal strands in my garden and compost are CRAZY and my plants make people envious! But this input terrifies me. Wish me luck !
Can I ask for you help ? Do you have an email?
Ohn seemz hard and long
Thay beard makes him look Shiek! Love it bro. Keep farming and giving us all the great tips. Much love from this gardening sista.
I'm making this in small containers, most of Filipino farmers use knf, its free and environment friendly.. And it does works
What will happen if i add moringa leaves to the concoction before the fermentation? Will it make a better organic fertilizer?
How long you keep that you say 6month. Other people video 2 weeks or three weeks, So what difference in time what difference ? Thank !
Dude I been watching you for 7 years and I don’t farm but the science is so interesting . Also watched your master and Drake . Love it !
Hi Chris thanks for all the videos. I just started making some FAA and I'm wondering if I can use l.a.b. cause i didn't make any other inputs?
Great question. I am at the same spot. Right now I am just adding the fish remains to my compost. I guess it means we need to learn ohn and imo 1 - 4. Great thing is he has videos on those as well.
Sir, I'm just a newbie to your farming show. But already I like your style, info & persona much better than that other Trump guy. Cheers!
Great info man! Love aII your videos! Keep them coming.
Hi Chris, I saw in one of your other videos that you used soldier fly frass for a high nitrogen fertiliser. Could this substitute the fish in FAA or would I be better off applying it without the fermentation process?
I'm not keen on using fish on our farm so hoping to find a more vegan friendly option.
Thanks, from Australia
you can ferment soybeans, peas, or any other legume.
Chris you are awesome! Thank you for sharing! I do wonder though if you can use different varieties of fish in a single batch or if it has to be the same fish (not different species). I live in Thailand (in and land locked area), and have access to a lot of different fresh water fish, but sometimes it's hard to get a massive quantity of any 1 specific species. Thanks again!
i would guess that a variety would be fine
Aloha Northern Thai Garden Guy! You can definitely use a variety. It really does help to use IMO4 if you can :) Great question!
@@biomei.solutions can FAA be use to feed broilers,if yes how?
@@biomei.solutions
Hi Chris..
Thank you for this wonderful recipe..
Can we use Mollases instead of Brown sugar..?
Wow good. How ts paa in water mis. Thank you sir
Awesome video! Thanks for all the info. There’s definitely going to be some FAA in my future! Chee hoo
Man! Chris, such a gift all these videos, I often refer back to them.
Thanks so much.
Stig of the Dump was one of my favourite books as a child :-)
What is IMO4 and the other skosh
What is the pinch of something you added
Thank you for the Free Information.
Hello Chris, can dried molases be substitutd for brown sugar in the makin go OHN Etc. ? Thanks
It is possible
I'm wondering if I can do this with prawn shells or what is the recommended KNF use of prawn shells? Or do I do it like egg shells and WCA?
Where can you get IMO 4 to buy
Could you use other creatures like shrimp tails or crayfish? I'm having a hard time getting fish waste and want to keep the spirit of using what is available
I've made some with shrimp waste ,and tails before
High in many nutrients and chitin
.
Keep winning the CrossFit games stud💪👊
👌🏽🤙🏽👍🏽😆
When do you have more classes like this
Can you use oyster shells to make FAA?
Thanks and love all of your content, Chris!
Bill
No, oyster shells can be used for calcium.
For FAA you need fish waste/scraps/heads.
Amazing vid brother keep them rolling :)
I did not know that you could stabilize activity with sugar like that.. Good practical knowledge if we ever need to go without modern luxuries.. Thank you!!
Vinegar / acidity stabilise naturally, if it’s not alcohol.
where forest get fish?
Thanks for your knowledge and ability to deliver help in such an unobtrusive way.
Just saying
Hey there! I work for a nonprofit on Oahu. I’m working hard to develop a food forest at an inner city school here. We have the goal of empowering these kids and feeding the community in one fell swoop. I reached out to Ron Finley for help and he mentioned your name. I will actually be in the big island and am wondering if I could visit your operation to gain insight on best methods going forward. I look forward to hearing from you!
Hey Chris so what if i don’t have any imo4 - but I have some ohn left - can I still make FAA? Thank
My guy is using Demerara sugar.....that comes from Guyana....which happens to be where I'm from
Hey, Chris, which model cooler is that? I love your show, Man. One love and thanks
What I’m I doing wrong if I’m still seeing meat after 9 months?
Sugar ratio. Or cold. Maybe. Or ur imo is dead , But it would still ferment . Did u have alot of liquid, blood etc. ? That slows it
@@romanreckless8263 I think your right. I had started it in September 2021. I had stored it in a space that got cold, almost freezing. Slowed the process down. At the 9 month marker, is was doing better but it was starting to smell. I throw in some IMO 2. At the 12 month marker, it was ready and it was perfect. My plants love it.

Whats IMO 4?
Could worm castings replace IMO 4?… they’re fresh out of my own worm farm
Not living near the ocean. Can you tell me wether or not I can use frozen salt water fish for this application if I don't have access to the fresh stuff
Great video. Thanks. Can I substitute fish for soybean?
Will any fish do. Can I do it with mackerel?
Again with all the acronyms and initials. Sounds like an insurance convention.
can you roast the bones left over for cal phos liquid
Just grind and re ferment
Yep, where I live in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, the chefs snap up all the fish heads, waste etc... a bit frustrating for us gardeners, I'll probably go buy some whole fish
Is this the future funeral procedures bury a body in sugar so it decomposes faster
Can I use shrimp wastes?
I would also like to know where to get the IMO and the other thing. :)
Do you use organic dark brown sugar to make your fermented FPJ and FAA.
Will be adding the link to my slides
Do you think i can use turkey guts in place of fish? @chris Trump
thanks in advance
can you substitute anything for the OHN?
Thanks for the great tutorial Chris.
I know it's important to leave air space in the container (like 3/4 full), but what if i'm using a 5 gallon bucket but only filling it at 1/4 and leave 3/4 or air space (with the lid on obviously), will that do something bad , like promoting bad bacteria or something. I understand that most bad bacteria are typically more prone to take over when air is ''lacking'' (like in a compost tea when there's not enough air), but would this be considered ''stagnant air'' and could it ruin my current FAA batch which is now fermenting for 2 weeks? Or should I change the container now and everything should be good? Thanks for your help Chris!
Hey, what do you do with the bones after?
WSCP
This is awesome .
What if you don't have sugar or mollases.. or rather I should say didn't want to use as it is store bought thing.. how to make own sugar? Please ignore if I sound absurd just thinking not apocalypse..
fish, water and a few hand fulls of leaf mould in a bucket, ferment for 6-12 months minimum
very nice info, thank you for the great presentation, best wishes to you brotherLove
Aloha Christopher :)
Thank you for the encouragement!
Something to seriously consider making and trying.
This is one of the best videos I've ever watched .
Thank you sir
very cool....thank you for sharing thru media and the demo...I have been interested in Korean natural farming for awhile and your videos have shed some more light on it for me...I want to someday manage a minimal grouping of a dozen muskovy ducks on an acre my wife and I bought in puna...I have, thru watching videos, learned of biochar, rock dust, and permaculture in general....I am eager to put my knowledge into practice...for now a small backyard garden will have to do
Can you use any fish or is salmon best for a reason?
What if you don't have access to deep sea fish?
does it have to be imo 4? can you use imo 2?
All the acronyms make it difficult for those beginning to research and learn about this method.
Try putting the recipes down in a notebook somewhere... you'll find out it doesn't take more than a few pages front and back.
I think Chris has done an immensely wonderful job not only passing this knowledge along but understanding it and teaching it in a concise manner.
Long live Master Cho. 🙏🦠🧫🌱🌴
Yes, its quite a learning curve. I made a memo in my phone so everytime I hear one I add it, and then add the description later when I learn what it is. You got this buddy! I think its worth it. Sardines are my fish I chose, and t turns out they dont have mercury in them. They were the only fish I could find at the supermarket with heads and tails on still, and $6 for 750g of fish so I grabbed those. Lol
IMO = Indigenous Microorganisms. >4< = The stage of the procees of using the IMO. OHN = Oriental Herbal Nutrient.
Couple that with the fadm method and you got some confusing lessons lol, iv found the more I listen and read the more it makes sense. If you don't understand something. Pause the video and research the acronym and document it in your notebook. Helps me alot to do this. And immerse yourself in this culture and you will start to understand the language
Thanks you for your video !!!
May I know can I use the fish amino acid to feed livestock ? If yes , what’s the ratio and how to incorporate it into livestock diet?
How much is a skosh?? Lol
a skosh is a skosh, homie.
@@mattvanelli817 ohhhhh okay! that makes sense now. thanks bro!
Can i use imo1 for that sir?
Could one use shrimp, or crawfish?
Hey Chris, Excellent videos! In my FAA I used IMO 2. There is no bad smell but im in month 2 and starting to get several fungal colonies on the surface. Is this problematic? I have the FAA in a glass jar occasionally exposed to very faint light in a closet. Could be the light contributing to the colonies fruiting?
Thanks for sharing your techniques!
Hi, I was wondering if your FAA was usable. I am having the same problem, a blue-green mold on top. Thinking if I scoop it off and drain, it should be fine?
What is imo4???
