    **hi, guys, I feel I should mention that the damper recommendations are VERY basic. Damper settings are very situational and they require offset balancing to be done correctly. Ill be attempting to explain this more thoroughly in the “advanced” chapter to come.**

    I am assuming the higher the number on the slider, the stiffer the setting correct?

      Thats right. The higher the # the more force (weight, load, aero load) to move the component a specific distance (spring) or distance in a specific time (damper).

    When you begin setting up a vehicle, is there a certain pattern you work in? For example, you get your tire pressures figured out first, then move into suspension, and lastly drivetrain? Some items have bigger changes than others, so do you have a certain pattern you use to get the big items where you want them, then smaller items dial in settings even more?
    Also, often times the way setups work in the real world don't translate into a sim. A lot of times, the fastest drivers are fast because they know how to manipulate the particular sim to get results that would never work in real life. Are there setup items that can be manipulated in AMS 2 that those "behind the curtain" know about but the avg person would never even think to try because technically it should not work?

      My workflow is flexible. During the first few installation laps I try and identify anything major. brake bias, pressure, differential, aero. I'm always tinkering with pressures and cambers. There really is no, "fix one thing and move to the next thing" because making changes in one area can and will effect the others. tldr I concentrate on things that can lead to spins when testing and work my way from there.
      As I am not speaking from the inside and being able to confirm things, my impression based on my work in AMS2 (as opposed to other games) is that Reiza is developing a physics package first and the cars are a reflection of that package. Any perceived flaws in the physics of a particular car are then adjusted based on that particular car. I distinguish this from programming a "driver feel" first and then programming the setup physics after the fact. I mention this, because the later method is where I feel sims can have some gray areas.
      That being said, the viscous LSD used to be enabled, and it did have an effect on the cars handling, however this was recently disabled. I never showcased how to use the viscous options because this could have been interpreted as a glitch. Not a major glitch mind you, because whatever you could have done to the viscous could have also been done with the clutch lsd adjustments.
      But to answer you question directly, no. Everything in AMS2 has an effect and all of the setup options are true to their real life counterparts.

    Does all of this apply to the formula cars as well? I mean like your tyre temp ideas, are these the same when the wheels are open wheels in terms of the IMO temps etc? I wonder if there was a car you usually drive that you had in mind when making this video series? Not saying you were , just curious as so many people only play the GT3 cars these days, I am more a formula car guy, especially the older ones

    Awesome vid very helpful. The only issue I have is on my settings for slow bump & slow rebound ect. I just have 1 - 8 instead of Nm / n/m/s is there a setting I need to change ?

    Any thoughts (maybe in a detailed video) about the overall force of the ARBs, rather than their ratio (front to back)? Say you start with both ARBs = 0 and work your way up to the right balance, compared to have overall stiffer ARBs with the same balance. So much to dive in here. Cheers. :)

      When your doing intense setup work, it takes time. A lot of laps. A lot of data. So speeding this up in any way possible is a good idea. There are documented references for things like appropriate stiffness for each class of car. So you test, hit those marks and fine tune from there. Testing sway bars at 0 isnt necessary, because its not practical. But thats not to say its wrong to do that. All that matters is if you end up in the right place. For those without telemetry a good metric for overall stiffness is tire temps. Softness will load up one side over the other, so you might have overheated tires on one side and cold tores on the other. Not to mention how sluggish the car would feel. ARBs are simply a way to maintain cornering stiffness but allow softer springs for bumps/kerbs.

      That's in the works. Perhaps not a thrilling as you might expect. Telemetry doesn't provide answers, it really just gives you a better grasp of what's going on, which can be quite a mess. I still use the principles in the video first, the telemetry helps confirm positive improvements and the effects on other aspects, which could be off-set by negative aspects. So still a lot of trial and error and testing and resetting.
