AMS 2 has improved significantly over the last 12months, if fact I would say its the best sim for open wheelers, add in the skin mods makes it great for any f1, particularly the historic content. I only noticed last night that if I change the date the trees ect adjust to the time of year lol😂!!!Good informative video.
Thanks allot for all this information - was interested in the Content Manager information. Did not know this existed till today from another video. After I get done updating my RFactor 2 game and installing the Quest 3, I will start looking into AMS2 more. I have had the game installed for quite a while. I run most of my games in VR. Thanks for this in advance. I mean as in, I won't be playing it yet, because I'm going through some other racing-games first. - I've actually been playing racing-games since the late-'90s, but then there was a huge gap when I didn't have a proper wheel and such, so I passed up a bunch of great releases, like the "Assetto" ones, as well as "Project Cars" (rip) and even a bunch of newer Codemasters-ones. - Then about a year ago I purchased a pack of racing-games that included some of the best from over the years including this one. - But (along with 'Dirt Rally') I've been trying 'rFactor 2' first, which just made me have to reconsider everything, cause physics are a thing and heavy machinery moving fast wants to keep going straight despite cranking turning-mechanisms. So yea, I'm kinda going through them from older to newer, probably, so I'll get to AMS2 eventually and revisit this video. But considering how much positivity I've seen around it, I might have to fast-track it. Not sure if I could follow every tip, however, because if it comes to installers and GPU control-panels, those aren't really a thing on Linux-distros. So we'll see.
Let me know what your favourite car and track combos in AMS2 are 👍🏻 I'll go first; I LOVE the Sonoma Track Mod with any GT3 car. The hills and dips are insane. It reminds me of Cadwell Park here in the UK 🇬🇧

The only thing i "hate" about CM is that every time you want to install a new mod, uninstalls everything and installs it all back again. Takes time but you cant have it all i guess. Nice video, gained a subscriber here 👍

@Argy_V yeah for sure. Content manager is far easier than the JSGME route. Wish we could do something about some tracks bouncing but I think it’s great 👍🏻
What no one is talking about is how do you edit steering wheel assignments for menu navigation. On my G1 23 because it already had endgame presets. It was the X button to accept or move forward through the menu.

One question though please; for the mods from the Project Cars Modding Team when I read the instructions on the landing page they mention some steps you didn't (such as boot files, moving track files to a specific folder, using JSGME to activate track files etc.) - can I ignore all this and just download, drag to AMS2CM and apply the same as the other site? They also do mention AMS2CM as a method for installation but it's not clear whether those extra steps are still needed or not so any assistance would be much appreciated!

amazing walkthrough - i have been driving ams 2 vanilla since launch - i will take the plunge THANKS and subscribed! On a side note - have you ever transferred your set up to a new PC? I have new much faster build in progress do you recommend any migration or just reset up ( that sounds daunting to get my familiar feel )

@marcp5099 I run a Mac too. Personally I would start again and configure everything exactly as I want it. You can always transfer anything across or compare as you need to. But there’s something clean and virgin about a new build. Weee here to help if you run into issues 🙏
It doesn't work for me. The Mods are showing up in the Mods folder and in AMS 2 CM it says that everything is installed but ingame it doesn't even show one single mod. Does anyone know how to fix this?
@@BrandonFoster on my pc the game directory is on steamLibrary/steamapps/common/Automobilista 2 but then i have also made a mod folder in there and when i put the mods in it my self it still wont show up in the game. Am I making something wrong?
I used to be an Xbox user, but treated myself to a pc 6 months back because I wanted to SIM instead of playing racing games. I bought Iracing, rFactor, AMS2, ac and acc. And hey I , always had a love-hate relationship with Forza Motorsports because the engine for the wheel/pedal set options always sucked, and I wanted to leisurely drive a game instead of a sim I obtain FM8 via Steal Valve. Hoping T10 would have at least tried to make it playable with a wheel/pedal set, well,of course, they didn't,. IT10 claiming it was ""built from the ground up"", no t10 ran it into the ground. Since irl stores never refunded for a disappointing game nor does the online Xbox store. I got my money back. Big thanks to Steam for that! Anywho because of that I bought almost every DLC for AMS2, and i absolutely love it. And setting up my Moza r5 dd with lite brake set was quite easy it launched from my Moza pithouse app the Project Cars 3 settings and worked nicely, just some minor tweaks for my personal preferences were ""needed"". Anho my favorite track in AMS2, LeMans24hrs layout. Thanks for the hints and tips!

@thesimracingshaolinstudent It's the same mate I noticed that when I lost control of my car on a roundabout 🤣 Spoke to a guy who worked on it and they got super accurate data from ginetta as well laser mapping of the uk tracks He said even he can't understand how the physics is calculated 🤣 But he would ring tyre company's for their data even from the 70s
No, no, no, do not use Nvidia's Ultra Low Latency mode, it eats CPU like crazy and drops fps. I have yet to see 1 use case where the latency reduction is worth it.
@@BistoKid For every racing game: Ultra Low Latency Mode: Off. If the game has NVIDIA Reflex, put that to "On + Boost" (if it is unstable, use "On"). AMD has something similar! If you have a screen of up to & incl. 120Hz/144Hz, do this: Limit FPS in NVidia control panel to 120/144fps (Gsync -4fps on that value) and Vsync in ANY case off (latency & fps impact). For shooters on a high level (i.e. you are like a top player in Counterstrike) some different rules apply, but usually you have then displays running 240Hz or more. You do not need more than 120/144 fps and capping it off reduces heat, wear and noise. Technically Fullscreen is recommended, but borderless has only an insignificant latency & fps impact these days, so today it should not meaningfully matter anymore.
I 100% agree with blue monkey. Ultra Low Latency makes my CPU usage go up by like 25% and makes me GPU usage drop. Sorry but I want my GPU usage high, CPU usage lower. And yeah there's no gains in anything other than Counter Strike for the Ultra Low Latency mode. Save yourselves some performance. Cheers. Mates.

well, I installed all these mods, and one or more of them have broken my controls. The lights on my Logitech mouse go out, my xbox controller is not recognized, and my thrustmaster t300 also does not work. They are all greyed out. As soon as I tab out of the game, they all turn back on.

What about the Physics of the modded cars? Is it as good as the orig stock cars from 1.5 Update (gen1 and gen2)? Or is every modded car automatically using this new physics?
I recently buy the game and trying to have some fun, but the game doesn’t want me to do that bc I cant fix the TC and ABS every car I choose on any mode the is always the car has 0 TC and 0 ABS which I can’t change even thou I fixed all buttons and still is the same

Ah this sounds like the package isn't CM ready. What's the mod and where did you get it from? I'll download it and try to work out what we need to do to add it. 👍
They typically break the mods but essentially within a day or so the modders (thunderflash etc) have updated them to work with the latest updates. So you simply download the latest versions and install those and away you go.
Warning to UK gamers. Be aware of any subscription services requiring PayPal only payment. Remember PayPal have been promised the contract by the UK government to handle Digital Currency and CBDC when it is forced upon us. Do you really want them to have your details?

Tip: ThunderFlash has created a All In One (AIO) mod file so you don't have to download each file individually.

Manually copy the userdata\vehicles files to your game directory. x86\steam\steamapps\common\automobilista 2

Loosing the sounds typically means an AMS2 update has broken the car mods. What version of AMS2 are you running and which cars are broken?

Keep getting the following Error in CM when I hit apply: "Extension "bff" is not a supported archive file name extension."
