Japan is such an incredible place for photography. Nature, shrines, cities... Went there in 2017, the trip was too short. Your commentary is very pleasant.
C'est la fin des bordures blanches ? Haha ! Superbe vidéo encore une fois, très reposante. La nature reprenant ses droits sur les constructions humaines (la mousse sur les pierres comme à 11:50) rend l'atmosphère incroyable.
Thanks a lot for sharing these scenery ! Enjoyed it a lot. Perhaps not every image was , but there have been some really good captures among these and the tranquil scenery and mood was making me long for Japan quite a bit again. Next year I shall be there another time - want to gon south as well, maybe down to Okinawa and Iriomote as well, would love to❤
Thanks for this nice video! I just returned to Europe from a three weeks vacation to Japan where I visited some friends and places I like. Regarding your photos from Kyoto, I know some of the places where you took them exactly. I walked there just a couple of days ago. And I really like the pics and the footage from Kyushu. I have been there two times but I really need to see more of it. I hope you‘ve had a very nice trip with your family😉✌️👋.
I’ve watched a few of your videos now and enjoyed them all-this one was especially captivating. I loved how the journey unfolded, with video snippets pre-empting the stills-it was clever and effective. The slight movement in the video added a natural, organic feel, and the still shots were superb, with excellent compositions and colors that really appealed to me. May I ask a couple of questions? Are these SOOC JPEGs or post-processed RAWs? Did you color grade? I’m seriously considering the a7CII-it seems like the perfect street/travel FF setup, and 33MP is more than enough for my needs. I know this camera supports LUTs, but can LUTs be applied to stills in-camera so that exported JPEGs have them baked in (like Fujifilm’s approach)? Or must LUTs always be applied to RAW files in post? It would be great if custom LUTs could be applied SOOC to JPEGs. Anyway, loved the video, thought it was very professional and the photos were really special, photographs that resonate with me = liked and subscribed.
Thanks a lot for your comment! All the photos and footage was colors graded / edited with my presets and LUTs. I would 100% recommend the a7CII. But the LUTs cannot be applied to JPEG if I am not mistaken. Sony colors are great, don't believe anyone saying the opposite but they need a bit of post processing.
beautiful! I have an a7c and the kit lens 28-60. I'm interested in the sigma 28-70, do you think it's a worthwhile purchase even though the focal lengths are basically the same?
Your videos always keep me hooked! 😅 I’ve been using a Fuji X-H2, but the autofocus has been frustrating me lately, so I’ve been considering switching to Sony. I’ve had my eye on the A7C II because I love the compact form factor, but I’m also looking at the A7 IV and A7R V as possible options. Do you think these are solid choices, or would you recommend something else?
I should be in Japan early next year. Bringing the Sony 20-70 f4 G and my Ricoh GRiii but wondering if my Sony 40 f2.5 G will be sufficient for night photography there. I could bring the Sony 35 f1.4 GM instead but would prefer the lighter 40mm lens. Do you think f2.5 or f2.8 would be good for night shots there? It’s hard to tell sometimes as nighttime lights in the city can vary depending on location.
i really like the video sections, but i think they would be even better if they were fully stable with a tripod. Maybe that would be too much to carry though.
Looking to get my first camera for an upcoming trip. Which do you recommend most out of the Sony A7CII, Fuji X100VI, or Ricoh GR3/GR3X? All are very compact given their features yet in slightly different categories. Compact size on the Ricoh seems amazing but the lack of weather sealing, viewfinder, and fixed focal length worry me. The X100vi focal length doesn’t worry me quite as much but the poor autofocus does a bit. And then the Sony seems great but it’s larger size, cost, and lack of film sims turn me off it slightly.
I would recommend the a7CII for the reliability, the autofocus, the lenses etc... But the LUTs cannot be applied to JPEG if I am not mistaken. Sony colors are great, don't believe anyone saying the opposite but they need a bit of post processing.

Went there for the first time in 2015. I kept going back every year except the pandemic period.
I just got back from walking a lot of these streets and this video showed up on my feed. Gives a whole other perspective in the rain.
Always a struggle to shoot in the rain but the vibe is immaculate ;)
Love the video, the photography, the vibes and the fact that you recently rewatch my favorite movie
Loving this, from Sicily
Thanks for your comment, the last samurai is really so good :)
Kyushu is perhaps my favorite region in Japan! I've been there many times and I never get tired of it. Your work is awersome btw :)
The beginning of your video is exactly where I live, I am right next to Kenninji! If you're still here let me know, we can get a drink ✌🏻
Next time! I stayed really only for one night but I hope to be back for a longer time soon :)
sound design is amazing form the first of the video
Thanks for noticing!
I just found you but you are now my photography guy, nobody else are as good as yours imo
Engyoji in Himeji is my favorite spot in Japan. Such a treat.
So beautiful indeed!

Glad you enjoyed it. I hope you will enjoy Japan next year :)
Lovely video, man. Seriously.
Thanks a ton!
I LOVE YOU ADRIEN!
Awesome, it's quite hard to take attractive photos in cloud/rainy days and you success
Thanks for the compliment, sometimes you just gotta work with what you get!

Where can I meet you up in Kyoto? I'll buy you a drink.
I was there only for a few hours, next time I'll come back for a longer time ;)
You inspired me !!
I’m glad I can inspire you :))
love your videos, are the b-roll / Pov shots from your pocket 3 ?
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!

Simply brilliant. I see you use fuji lenses too! What camera bodya re you using? :)
I used to have the xe4 but I sold it. I only have Sony now and a Ricoh GRIII
Only 2k views is criminal. This rules
It's going up slowly, let's see how it does. Not a gear talk or clickbait title so that's how it works ^^'

I think the 40mm is good enough for street. Especially on Full Frame you can cope with slightly higher ISO and have totally usable files.
@ Thanks for the reply! I’m so excited about the trip I already have everything packed in my 1 backpack 🎒 haha
can u explain about the setting that u usually use while filming, couse you always get the right exposuree with a7c II
I always aim at +1 on the exposure compensation and shoot in SLOG 3 ;)
Adrien, peux tu me dire s'il y a un indicateur de profondeur de champ dans ce boitier ? Merci.

Good suggestion but for my style of shooting it is hard to carry a tripod ^^'

@ what camera do you find yourself using most often?
Nice!! is this video from the Sony a7CII or A7IV?
All on the A7CII ;)
