I'm a Manadonese, I don't personally eat mice, people in my province (North Sulawesi) do. Manadonese don't eat house rats, we eat the mice that live in the jungle (what do you call it in English).
You can tell the difference between those that lives in the jungle and the house rats. Those that lives in the jungle/forest have white tail. Be carefoul thou', some sellers might paint the house rats' tails white.
But usually Manadonese people can tell the difference.

The corn from the geyser had me mouthwatering. Also the bamboo 'stew' looked very savoury!!

Hats off to you for going off the beaten path, Sonny. Many food vloggers have covered Indonesia but they barely scraped the surface. I think a visit to North Sulawesi is imperative to anyone who wants to get a bigger picture of what "Indonesian food" is. Right? Itd be great to experience it... Im Just concerned about getting sick lol. With the bacteria, dirt & unclean water.. When i went to cuba i wasnt able to drink ANY of the water i had to only drink bottled water because i didnt grow up drinking the water with all the bacteria in it and i got SO SICK. For about A week i was violently ill because of drinking the water. Couldnt even get water in my mouth in the shower... But i would LOVE to experience all these places and their food/customs. 😙👶

Yellowstone park in the USA has beautiful geysers but it was ruin by tourists. They set up board walk and rope fences to prevent people destroying natural rocks, or venturing off where they are not suppose like the boiling hot water that is hot enough to dissolve a human being into nothing. You can't enjoy it now because there are so many people. You are being bump into or pushed forward. Why would you want people to come and ruin this beautiful place ?
