Finally !
It’s been a long time I wanted make a short animated project, but I couldn’t find the idea able to stick enough on my mind to dedicate it months of work. I came across a RUclips recommendation on Morgan Clae's shorts covering “Get in the water” from “Epic: the musical”. Her incredible voice immediately inspired me ! It was decided : I wanted to make a musical short about a man and a water creature.
So here's the anim rough, I have the feeling I did the hardest part... But now I have to clean everything ^^' I don't know how many time it's gonna take me, but I swear, I'll finish this short ! Wish me good luck :')

This is so intense. I love how you can at the very beginning you can see there was a conflict. From their expressions maybe they had an argument and he betrayed her by stabbing her in the chest. Although, he probably threw the knofe from the distance they're standing apart.
The guy obviously thought he was victorious, but at 0:08 he relizes his mistake. The way his expression changes is eye candy to me.
0:16 when she closes her fist around the sun. Ugh, symbolism? We love it here. Plus, her expression hasn't changed yet? 😘👌🏻
0:38 pulling the knife out and creating an isolated bubble of land with walls of water? So badass. Love this woman.
The whole sequence where she transforms is so smooth. It's a slow but makes sense and you can see her actually see her trasforming instead of giant smoke screen transformations that you see in modern block busters. It reminds me of old Disney movie transformations like Beauty and the Beast, Brother Bear, etc.
Any person acn see the amount of effort you put into this. If you end up coloring this animation, I can't wait to see it.

Just the juxtaposition of this warrior stabbing this supposedly random woman in the heart on the beach, expecting her to keel over and be taken by the tides...
Just for the wash of fear to hit him as she speaks, demands with a voice not only stronger than you'd ever hear from someone who has been stabbed, let alone in the chest, but she speaks a command with a force behind her words that echo in ones heart with the knowledge that there is no outcome where that order isn't followed...

I cant stop watching this - it is quite literally so well done. I felt the fear and confusion when the guy saw he didn't kill the woman. The eerie yet calm expression of the woman is so profound. I love the detail of her grasping the sun - foreshadowing her great power. (Also great composition - I love it so much.) That along with her eyes, teeth, and claws slowly emerging. The desperation in his eyes as he backs away, the anger in her face perfectly matches with her scream. The transition with her slamming her hands down and transforming into the creature is marvelous!!! The way you perfectly illustrate their emotions is just *chefs kiss* !!! I can't stop watching this. I can't. You've done amazing work!!!!
