@@littlejimmy2195 I mean... Even if they were gonna cut off the tails to eat, I think specifically not killing them and instead mutilating them while they're alive then drowning them definitely counts as "cruel".

All things considered, this is a fair more portrayal, since Oddy have become more brutal in his methods, BUT the sirens would ABSOLUTELY have killed him with no remorse. Good job

I literally said "Ooh" out loud when I saw you finally finished and uploaded this. I love the little cape flick Odysseus does and the detail of the crew member being hesitant on subjecting the sirens to such a fate and Odysseus pressuring him into doing it anyways.
I love that this animatic shows the ruthlessness of the whole crew, not just Ody, as well as the fact not everyone is fully on board for this… The animatic helps establish a relationship between Ody and the crew. Most animatics just show the crew as an extension of Eurylochus, so I really like this change. It makes the twist in Mutiny make a lot of sense
I love love love how you interpreted Ody's exposition as him talking to the rest of the crew. So many animatics choose to represent it as him monologuing to the captured siren(s) however i love the idea that he was the only one actually "present" for the conversation in suffering and so used the opportunity to catch his people up. It also works perfectly to justify the crew's actions later when he intentionally obscures the truth about how he plans to get home.
The way Odysseus is so flippant at first and then shifts into cold rage so effortlessly is everything to me. And the way the crew backs him up at every step makes his later betrayal of them all the more tragic.
The part where the fog rolls away to reveal the rest of the crew is absolutely ~chef's kiss~, and the color pallets changing back to the light colors from suffering vs the dark color from the crew 💯💯
“My real wife knows I’m not scared of the water!” SUCH a good, layered line. He’s saying “I didn’t buy your charade for a second” and “I’m not afraid of you” at the same time
I like how you chose to have him kill the primary Siren quickly, even though he was ordering his crew to cut their tails off and let them drown slowly. As ruthless as he's trying to be, he is still merciful enough by nature to grant a quick death to the one that looks like his wife... whether he knows it or not.
OHHH my goodness this is AMAZING! the "spare us please!" part where the one siren turns back into Penelope. The part where Ody steps in the blood and you can tell it's *sticky.* I'm going wild
WOW. The fact that you centered Eurilycus so much was so interesting, specially since yesterday I saw this video where Jorge was talking about each character's instruments and how Eurylicus didn't have one, that his instrument, his motif is the crew. And just seeing him in this animatic, being the 2nd in command and following Odysseus... is so, UGH NICE. because this is why the crew is singing. Not for Odysseus becoming a monster, but because Odysseus is FINALLY doing what Eurylicus though was necessary... and funny enough this will get him killed.
I love the subtle worried looks of the crew as Odysseus paces after giving the order to kill the sirens, gives the feeling that some of them are worried about the very sudden shift in philosophy and mindset, especially knowing their worries become justified in the next song
The way that at the end the lyric slowly shifted from "we" to "he" implying that Odysseus is the monster that showed them no mercy for the sailors that deceased

And when the sirens try to convince Ody to spare them the background shifts back to the one from sufferring and she takes the form of Penelope so he won't hurt her jakskajsashaih. Also the stark contrast between the background colors for suffering and different beast really captures both of the songs vibes.
Your version of odys mannerisms while hes monologuing, being casual and asking about the time line and even looking like hes joking with the crew about finding the other ship, are so spot on to how i imagined it. I really love the bloody footprints and the final shot it's just SO GOOD. And the way his eyes change when he says "i know exactly what you are, a siren" I'm so in love. And when the sirens try to convince Ody to spare them the background shifts back to the one from sufferring and she takes the form of Penelope so he won't hurt her jakskajsashaih. Also the stark contrast between the background colors for suffering and different beast really captures both of the songs vibes.
THE BLOODY FOOTPRINTS, DAMNNNNNN... the symbolism of walking a path of violence is LOVELY
That’s the look of a man who’s finally realized “no more fucking around”
I wish I could like this more than once I physically cannot express how much I love this.
Your version of odys mannerisms while hes monologuing, being casual and asking about the time line and even looking like hes joking with the crew about finding the other ship, are so spot on to how i imagined it. The crazed look the entire time, especially when hes forcing the others to go through with his orders ugh this is my favorite animatic
Loooove this animatic! The casual slitting of her throat and Odysseus intimidating the crew mate into attacking the sirens and smearing blood on himself casually to wipe the blade off and then stepping in the blood! Thanks so much for making and posting this animatic!
I like how the siren made a last ditch effort by turning back into Penelope(2:19).
AUGH so many things i LOVE about this!!
erylochus' shrug at 12 years? love. ody killing sirenelopy? amazing. him ensuring his crew is ruthless when theyre apprehensive? immaculate. him wiping the blood away likes its nothing? gorgeous. THE TRAIL OF BLOODY FOOTPRINTS?? you spoil me so
My favorite animatics of this song are the ones that acknowledge how very messed up his last decision is
I love the wordless communication and teamwork between Odysseus and Eurylochus. The inherent understanding between them from years of living, working and fighting together put to show. It's a really good touch
I love how the background lightened when the sirens sung/spoke, a very cool detail!
I love how you can tell through the subtlety of your art that everyone on this boat has been through it. They're anxious, hungry and fed up. Have a nice rest; I hope all of your videos blow up between now and Wisdom Saga! You clearly work and love very hard to produce these.
My jaw DROPPED throughout the entire song, my goodness the best different beast animatic I’ve seen. I love all your work and am obsessed with your Penelope design. Good job!
Everyone is talking about the shrug, but the look of “is it?” Ody gives before is just as cool
You’re actually the first to point that out congratulations🫡🫡
1:04 I THOUGHT ODY WAS DOING THE ROBLOX MAN FACE HELP
😭😭
How dare you drop such an amazing animatic- like, no, go to jail, do not pass go, whatever- how dare you, this is like, amazing. The colors, the way the crew acts, the way Odysseus acts, its all just chefs kiss
I just know the Oracle is sitting in Hell banging his head against his staff going "a trail of bodies doesn't just mean human bodies, you think he's figured out the puzzle yet?"
Also Polyphemus' eye showing up... Absolutely excellent, gave me chills. Easily the most brutal animatic of this that I've seen so far. Well done!
You're so good with drawing the expression please🖐️😭 I love how ody looks here
Your style is absolutely amazing and I LOVE the gestures and eye contact you took the time to show amongst the crew, it added so much to an already spectacular depiction of this song!
I LOVE the way you designed Ody
YOOO this is incredible !! He looks so menacing and gloating in this , the expressions are actually amazinggg 😭
2:55 OMG ODYSSEUS LOOKS LIKE A REAL VILLAIN
"The Siren can't get any hotter than Sirenelope"
Me after seeing the siren's true form: "I stand corrected"
it's really cool how ody feels almost vampiric in his mannerisms. he's got fangs. he really has become the monster
I just love his strut
I like how Odysseus just flicks his cape to prove his point
I’ve been searching for the movies epic for years and I checked and I literally just found out that you’ve been making them. Oh wait now the videos.
1:10 ODY: 12 years right?
EURY: don't know it's been a while
The way it swithched from "we are a different beasts now" to "he is a different beast now"
It swapped from all of the crew, to just Oydessus to who they sing about, it's like even his crew sees the monster that stops at nothing for his wife
